- Hey there! Sorry for not uploading in a HUGE while, I've just been busy with school and quite honestly have been neglecting the channel... but hey, I'm back!!!
Also..
tell no one, but I made a different channel dedicated to gaming only
I'm doing this because I'm slowly realizing how messy this channel is, and having my gaming content separate from my tech videos would make the most sense
Go subscribe if you want! :O
There's not much on there yet so..

Amzing video, Eric. Many thanks for sharing! There's such a lack of proper support for this, as we all know. Bleeding edge tech held back by companies that don't stand behind their products.
One of my lighthouses died and I need to fix it or trying to figure out how to fix it. This video is being very helpful hopefully it won't get me back up and running. How did you determine which one needed replacement? I know you were looking at it through the camera lens but I don't know how you concluded which one.
thank you for this video!!! I just fixed one of my own base stations using this is a tutorial really great stuff ❤❤
What if the error is with the rotor supposedly but both are spinning? Ah probably wont read it two years after this vid.
Mine says it can't find the headset is this causing the issue?
Very sweet video and good work but I will prefer return it to the guy who sold me the headset lol
Ok so my X-axis motor was spinning for 1 minute and it would do this stutter spin, but it's fully capable of spinning up at full speed an holding; after hours of reading and viewing you video I ID the issue as a loose laser module cable even though i looked fully seated from factory; for experimentation sake I swapped the laser, BAM it's working fine now, nice vid; i only wish you showed exactly how you detached the laser cable off the PCB, a bit nerve recking to pray it off; i had much less issue with the ribbon cable, that came off without a tool
I just bought a second hand htc vive with just one base station, but It Is not working. The base Is not tracking anything
Near the end-middle of the video where you set the modes, yeah mode C has never worked for me, I always keep it on A-B, when putting mine on C I get a purple light for the indication light
if you put one base station on C and the other on B they should connect wirelessly
@@bobabooye5691 Ohhh okay, I see how it works now. I've never actually used the C mode because I just use both base stations for infrared light for my quest 2, due to me only having one controller for my Vive and because 1 has a broken vertical laser
It depends on whether you are using the sync-cable or not. With the cable is A-B. Without it is B-C. (or vice versa).
One of mine made a loud buzz and went bang so idk what went
What screw driver is that
Its an I fix it kit screw driver
What is that part you swapped out , think that'll fix mine, red light is flashing on mine and I faintly see 1 red dot, on my other I see 2..
The laser diode
you want both laser diodes, the right one is vertical, the bottom one is horizontol tracking
@@melandero both diodes are identical, in the case of only seeing one dot, just one diode needs to be replaced
i seem to have a diferent problem, i hear a consistent knocking sound from my basestation. maybe it's the motor
They make a buzzing sound when the lenses are starting to come loose and they rub against the plastic face. If the lens comes all the way out of the rotor it could knock around in there.
You still have the filming box
Hey my controllers on the steamvr app is not going green is there a reason for this?
You might need to pair your controllers to your headset / wireless adapters
Thank you!! :D
i looked into the laser and nothing happened? the lasers arnt that powerfull ig
YOU DID WHAT
@@Eric-ks4em i accidentally looked into the laser that was spinning, nothing seemed to happen🤔 i was playing with it, brand new, then when i woke up yesterday, i saw that one of the base stations weren’t showing a green light, instead flashing a red light, then i noticed there was two laser on the good and healthy base station, compared to the bad one who only had 1
@@melandero oh something happened you just haven't noticed lol take an home eye exam online
@@ShantalhaitianPrincess didnt look directly into it, but my eyes are fine, guess i was lucky
Mine wont turn on
5:08 whoops..
Ok
Hi
Thank you for the video
Any ideas on why my base station goes green light for a second and then keeps flashing red?
How can I fix that?
Any help on pointing me to the right direction will be deeply appreciated
Generally a flashing red light means hardware failure
It could be either one of the motors have gone bad or one of the laser diodes have gone bad
@@Eric-ks4em mine is flashing red, but I can see both lasers, its just that one is slightly dimmer ... not sure if the diode has gotten weak or motor spinning too slow :-/
