    This is a 16 year old memory from the perspective of a traumatized 8 year old that fails to take in account:
    1. People say things to each other that they don't always mean when they're angry.
    2. The memory was shaped by Osha's negative feelings towards Mae.

    Here’s my prediction, based both on Mae’s change of heart and Osha’s increasing conviction that Mae is a murderer: Mae will continue to distance herself from the dark path and Osha will end up being seduced by the Sith master instead.

      I’ve thought about this and heard one or two people toss this out, but I don’t know. I see Mae distancing herself from the Dark Side, but I don’t see that from Mae? She’s still very fond of Sol, she seems to care of Jecki and Yord and she seemed disappointed that she wasn’t rejoining as a Jedi to go to Khofar.
      You may very well turn out to be correct so guess we’ll see.

    They litterally spent an episode showing us that Force Push is the specialty of the Brandok Witches. At Power of Two level, it was already sending people flying. That Force Push at the end of the episode was definitely Power of Many level.
    There is definitely a link to the Brandok Witches, whether it is Mother Koril or Qimir under the mask.

    I disagree that Mae tried to kill Osha. I think future flashbacks will make this clear. My theory is Mae knows something new when she confronts Osha ("We're stuck here NOW"). She was trying to keep Osha in that room (instructed to?) so she said "I'll kill you" to scare Osha into doing what she (Mae) says. Mae took Osha's Jedi drawing and wanted to burn it, but the fire got out of control. (It's likely) we will see Mae run for help when the fire spreads and she will watch some version of whatever goes down between the coven and the Jedi.

    • @quinndelcarmen1384

      We don't know what the Ascension Ceremony was, we don't know why Torbin and Mae's eyes roll black. These are yet to be answered and I suspect Jedi Master Sol has an idea. The Jedi where intent on disrupting these Witches so it must have been something serious.

      @brettholcomb3763 3 месяца назад

      @@Madame702 Yeah. At this point there are so many potential explanations that at best we could guess a part of the story. I liked the slow burn of this episode a lot. It felt *like* the more patient storytelling of Andor to me. Not at the same quality level, but stylistically. I get why folks (even at Lucasfilm) see shadows of Andor in this. It’s aiming for a more heady, mature storytelling style than most Star Wars gives, which I dig a lot even if it doesn’t reach Andor levels yet for me. But that ending reveal in the last few minutes? Dooooope. That elevated the whole episode, for me.

  • @Jeffjway
    @Jeffjway 3 месяца назад +2

    Guesses from me : I think the twist is that it's the reverse of what everyone is thinking. By the end of the series, Osha's anger and hate towards her sister and the death of her family leads her into the Dark Side and Mae's desire to repent leads her to the Light.
    Qimir is the Sith we see at the end of epi 4, but he is the Sith apprentice, not the Master.
    The Jedi were the ones that lit the fire in order to eliminate the witches, but the order to have the 4 jedi do it was a Sith inside the Jedi, Qimir's master.

    I'm still not entirely sure Mae actually set the fire. Force wielders can manipulate perception and memory in a lot of ways. I wouldn't be surprised if the sith or even mother koril changed Oshas experience in ways she's not aware of or manipulated/controlled Mae. I just keep thinking back to that moment when the girls are on the bridge before it collapses. Osha asks where's Mama, Mae says she's dead, Osha yells "what did you do?" and Mae yells back "what did YOU do?"... I can't help feeling like Maes experience of that last day on Brendok is wildly different from Oshas.

    The Acolyte takes place a century before the Empire and the Clone Wars. Palpatine became a Sith Apprentice before he entered politics, and he killed Plagueis the day he became Supreme Chancellor.
    Depending how long Plagueis' species lives (however the dark side corrupts a body's natural healing ability, so practitioners tend to live shorter than average naturally, extending their lives via unnatural means), he must be the current Sith Apprentice/Master during the Acolyte. At a minimum, the Sith Apprentice in Acolyte may be killed and Plagueis would be the replacement.

    I think Qimir and Koril are the easy, two leading candidates for the Sith master, but I wonder if it's Qimir over Koril for one reason we see in this episode. Other than it making some sense that a Sith master would keep tabs on their apprentice by being right under their nose and Qimir easily fended off Mae in ep 2, he also knows poisons (which, in and of itself, doesn't indicate Sithhood), but most of all, when Mae informed Qimir her plans to surrender herself to the Jedi and tell them what she knows, it was Qimir, as the Sith master, who knew he had to beat Mae to the wookiee and kill him to stop it.
    There was also the scene in ep 2 where, when surrounded by the Jedi, Qimir begged not to have his mind probed knowing that that would immediately give him away. Just some thoughts.

    Not totally sold on Qimir being the main bad guy...he might be the Apprentice however, and the main Sith Lord might be unseen or show up in the last episode. Still a lot to unpack. As a further thought about the whole 'create life with the force', it may be where Tenebrous learned about it and passed it on to Plagueis, who decided to give it a go before Sidious gave him a 'bedtime snack'.

    This ep was a lot better , the last few minutes were incredibly creepy and very effective the big bug bear for me and a lot of others is the run time 30 minutes is no way long enough .
    Personally I think Darth Grin is Quimir if you remember back in ep 2 Quimir overpowers Mae , when Mae is a skilled assassin I think Quimirs bumbling drunk is all an act ( just like Palpatine ) if you pay close attention to the dialogue in this ep his tone and inflection changes a lot from clown to serious ( just like the fantastic Ian McDiarmid did in the scene when Anakin confronts him in Revenge of the Sith ) but I guess we will find out next ep ,

    19:30 Palpatine took on the Jedi Council and dispatched all but Mace Windu in the first few seconds of their fight! I don't this Sith could do the same or worse--two fingers to get Osha out of the way and a whole hand to knock back an army of Jedi? Yeah, this one's gonna be a real threat.
    Qimir is being set up to be the Sith Lord, and I'm not mad at that--he's playing the bumbling/defenseless fool-type character Palpatine played when getting saved by Anakin and Obi-Wan in RotS, so I'm half expecting him to be the Sith Lord.
