Altho I am a 21 year pionus parrot lover/owner, I have become sharply against the out-of-control bird breeding in this country, making the equation HEAVILY toward excessive population increase over population purchase, and resulting in thousands of abandoned parrots now in sanctuaries where they DONT belong instead of a forever home, so few of which last less than Half Forever, undergoing abandonment, abusive treatment etc.etc. Let me yell this out: ADOPTING A YOUNG OR MATURE PARROT TAKES WORK BUT REWARDS THOSE WILLING TO ENTER AN AVIAN WORLD OF TRUST, LOVE & F.O.R.E.V.E.R.NESS DEVOTION.
P.S. Those folks who cannot raise kids well, dont deserve to raise a parrot. And those who cannot handle a parrot, dont deserve to have children.
