The F28 Professional nears development completion and in all areas it's shaping up to be a classic. For this video we thought it was time to give your eyes a rest and your ears a chance to get in on the act. Loads of the custom sounds are covered in this video, nearly 15 minutes worth of sounds to listen to.

The one thing they got wrong in the BAE 146 is the engine sounds staying the same at altitude as on the ground. With height and less dense air there should be a noticeable change. The PMDG 737s nailed this perfectly. Hope they have this fixed for the F28. Nice work, and looking forward to this.
Totally breaks immersion if not done right. But with this attention to the sound model, I’m almost certain JF will nail it.

You could just make something based on a default plane, release it an never care about it ever again (and would probably make even more money), but you guys care. Thanks for the kind words, appreciated. Always a balance to do the right thing. There's a place for all types of projects and aircraft and things have to be weighed up commercially. Each project is weighed up on it's own merits and we go from there.
It’s cool how they found a working F28 to model and record sounds from. It’s amazing how these old birds are still functional and in existence.

JustFlight are one of only a couple MSFS developers in which i barely have to think whether or not to purchase an aircraft. Everything I've bought from JF for MSFS has been brilliant. Really looking forward to this & the Vulcan. Honestly i'll be happy with all your future aircraft choices but i would love an English Electric Lightning from you in the future.
I can’t wait for this, your BAE146 is my go to a/c. I’m a real fan of old school navigation, and systems interaction by the pilots to fly these a/c as they once did. Pure classic, thank you Just Flight for bringing these models to the community, they are/will be such a joy to operate and fly. Some day soon there will be only a pilot and a dog on the flight deck, the pilot to feed the dog, and the dog to bite the pilot if he interferes with the controls!

Amazing. This is as much an interactive digital preservation of a historical artifact as it is a flight sim add-on. Excited for this and all the other classics you’re bringing out.

JustFlighr products are always state of the art. I really appreciate your work and level of details, love and efford you put in your add-ons. I prefer bigger and more complex systems but the vision jet became one of my favorites. I cant wait for the release!

So excited! This is the first properly loud and smoky vintage passenger jet for MSFS besides the Concorde, and it will be perfect for those flights that are too short for Concorde.

This is amazing! We're living the flight simming dream! Also, I think MSFS desperately needs better FPS functionality, I mean, being able to properly walk with WASD commands, get into planes, and interact with their systems.

The flight dynamics are being developed by the same team that developed the flight dynamics for our 146, so we are confident that the F28 handles just as well, if never even better! They have certainly impressed our testing team!
Wow - there should be a small bump when main door is at top, and a click when handle go over center to lock. - Rest is just wow......
But the smell - now I can register the smell of Skydrol, fuel and moist (condensed water behind lining). Unique F-28 smell - long forgotten, but now it is back.

I'm very excited for this plane. I've already got flights planned out for her. I am curious, your BAe 146 has copilot callouts, will the Fokker 28 also have these?
Sounds are a big mess to do in games in general, and I always wonder how you record some sounds like hyd pumps, flaps or lights where you need some power then some loud noise from either the GPU or APU. Amazing work as usual! I'm sure it'll be greatly received from the community !
I hope the engine not rotating is a known issue btw 😅
The engine not rotating is not an issue. The "blades" you see from the outside are static, they do not rotate. The rotating bits are further inside.

@@celthyan-music1118 No problem, to reiterate, The blades you see at the front of the engine are stator/guide vanes which are used to direct the flow of air into the engine and therefore do not rotate. The compressor blades within the engine do rotate and they are animated (they are quite well hidden within the engine so they may be difficult to spot from the camera angles in this video). Thanks.

I grew up flying on these things. They were beasts. Young kids these days have no idea what they missed out on. They were so freaking loud... and smog machines. Good days on MMA.

I was lucky enough to fly on a BAC 1-11... G-AYOP pretty sure it was that one, managed to track down the flight to Brindisi in 1995. The Second plane I went on was an A320 and the difference was chalk and cheese on the takeoff roll.. I remember the 1-11 gently accelerating compared to the A320 which was like a rocket.

Absolutley standing work, only thing this aircraft needs is a good maintenance system with hour accumulation and wear and tear over time like the maddog.

There, I'd lean up close to the wire fence and gaze longingly at the shiney jet shrieking on the apron, wondering when I'd get to fly one. Well, and not a minute too soon, courtesy of JustFlight I'll have one trapped in my harddrive and be flying the wings off the poor dear! Yaaay!!
My only complaint is the sounds on the throttle and speed brake axis. The think seems a bit much for the animation speed and it also seems kind of delayed after the movement has stopped. Is there some sort of gate lock at the end of each axis or something?

I may sound contrarian, but does this come with some sort of FMS or GPS? Not so much because I just want to ‘fly’ the thing on autopilot, but mostly because VOR/NDB navigation is a dying breed, and I’m worried it’ll become increasingly difficult to fly these birds in todays environment
Yes it will, in some guise.
Perhaps a virtual fms on the efb?
@@JDSleeper Likely to release with the default GNS 530 GPS. The UNS-1 we're currently developing will then be added to both the 146 and F28 as soon as it's ready.

Our sounds team was fortunate to get access to several aircraft during the development process, however, the main aircraft that we had access to was PH-CHN at AM&TS (Curio) Woensdrecht.

Yes you can.

Still part of our plans. A few months away. Need to release and clear the F28 first then the RJ is the next main priority

I'd expect it to be at least same as their 146..

We'd hoped it would be out within the next week or two, probably going to be a little longer than that now though. Quite a lot of work left to complete and get tested in terms of systems coding. Hopefully you should see it this month though Mark.

Do you guy 3D the real life plane than model or just model of the picture of the plane than 3D it?
Not exactly sure of what you're asking there Dan?
Are you asking if this is done based on 3D scan data or from photographs/plans only?
He's asking what modelling technique you used for the external model.
I'll need to confirm with the team but as far as I know the model has been created manually, with traditional model-making techniques using reference photos as opposed to the likes of LiDAR or other 3D scanning methods, etc. We hope you agree though, that the model looks just as good as the real thing!

Awesome stuff! Ready to buy this. Just one thing has me wondering.. do the external full throttle sounds sound a bit thin? I seem to remember a more fullsome and deeper rumble when they take off. Also the engine external sounds seem a bit phasey.. are you using the same recording simultaneously for both engines?

This (the video) sounds more natural and full, I would say (though it's possibly clipping when they hit the firewall :) )
The F28 in the link doesn't have hush kits fitted.

Please tell me, what navigation systems does the plane fly by?
the plane was built in 1967, its a little known navigation device called vor's and ndb's
VOR and NDB, basically how every plane flew before GPS became mainstream
Aside from the radio navigation as others stated, it will also have the option of using the Garmin GNS 530 for modern GPS navigation. This is according to JF in-development page.

That isn't a fan, what you see that isn't moving are stator vanes (to my knowledge)

I am an aerospace engineering student and what @ethansaviation2672 said it’s correct, those are stator vanes which don’t spin but guide air into the engine

I asked 4 months ago whether you were going to release fs traffic on Xbox. You said as soon as WASM was on xbox. Any updates?
No. when WASM gets sorted that makes it possible. It is now we hope as soon as it's submitted to ms for the Marketplace and testing is done on Xbox we'll soon know if it's compatible and ready for xbox release. That update should be ready next week so expect some progress at that point. Hope that helps.
