In her early 20's and newly married, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. After God healed her, her goal has been to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times. She is not motivated by either money or fame. She has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. In addition to being a published author of several fiction books, she lectures about song and vocal technique at a South Korean university, Voccal coaches and opera singers agree, her technique is FLAWLESS and EFFORTLESS. She experienced numerous bouts with pneumonia between 2016 and 2018. Given the fact she was still recovering from pneumonia at this event, proves So Hyang's technique is ROCK SOLID!! In 2022, her vocals are still powerful, and she is still hitting and sustaining those high notes.

At this particular event, she was feeling the effects of pneumonia as she always had relapses throughout her career after being treated for cancer, it was the same issue when she did the cover of You Rise me Up. She cared more about performing for her fans than anything else, she is a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart. You need to raise the volume to get the full emotional effect of her voice allow it to fully engulf you
She is very passionate and has a strong drive which shows. ☺️When I record it captures the sound and my mic as seperate files. Then in editing it can be reduced for copyright and to hear my commentary better. When I am listening I hear it a lot louder than in the final edit. I listen again to the videos I watch on hear that I enjoy without speaking too. 😃
Singing is about communication. Not many singers can emotionally connect with the song and the audience at the same time; Sohyang can and does. You can see from her eyes that she was not well during this performance, she was recovering from pneumonia, hence why she was sitting down. Having said that, she still slayed it.
