you know what? Most people I think consider showing the full startup or even better the full shutdown boring. Well, if it's boring, RUclips lets you scroll, right? I think you did awesome, giving people the chance to see the whole thing until the rotor stops. Thanks a LOT!!! :) FAT thumbs up!
@@deekamikaze Many ages ago, the now defunct Belsimtek promised that the Cobra would come after the Huey... Well, we're still waiting. Hopefully some third party will take the plunge.
Thank you to the flight crew and all at Red Bull Aviation. Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through your flight crew. As a disabled aviation fanatic, you bring me peace. Thank you. Thank you for your time and effort.
Currently helping a friend restore his 1 of 3 civilian legal AH-1 cobra, it's an earlier model AH-1 than this one here is. Still man amazing helicopter. We are hoping to idle the engine this month, possibly hover it if we don't find any leaks/issues during the idle test.. I'm excited to say the least, it's a massive privilege to have the opportunity to turn wrenches on a first gen cobra. I'm so grateful for the opportunity.
What floors me is the perfect control while on taxi. Sure, it seems like perfect weather with no wind, and the machine itself is famously wonderfully controllable, but still, seeing you stay dead center on the line the whole time is admirable. Sadly, I only have experience from simulators, but even in virtual space, I gotta say the Cobra is one of my favorite helicopters to just cruise in. Handles like a dream. I envy you.
Most, if not all Zulu model cobras are new manufacture. Last year, I had the opportunity to ride front seat on an F model Cobra operated by the AAHF. It was an awesome experience!
My BiL flew the G model in Viet Nam and was a VP of International Sales at Bell. He said the marines liked the cobra because they could carry what they needed in a tool bag and they were flying when the Army was down because the Blackhawks and Apaches were having trouble with the sand.
Thats looks like a modernized, or M model to me. I transitioned into it right after flight school in 1981. It was the Jaguar in its day. A forgiving aircraft too. Fun to fly.
I thought it was a scale RC helicopter with a Will Ferrell looking figure, it wasn't until the camera angle changed and I saw the pilot move that I realized this was real. Now we have A.I. getting pretty popular and becoming used more commonly., before ya know it anyone will be able to create anything and this world is gonna take another step closer to chaos.
I don’t know how or who I need to chat with but I’m 63, vetern(Navy), hv tried for last 20 years to get to ride in a Apache, and or F-18, I’m not close to superstar or class of money. I try helping fold with what little I hv but greatful, this is my #1 bucket list thing to do before I get too old to enjoy it. I literally would do anything be like a dream come tru. But it will never come to be rides like that do not just happen to normal guys like me, but wow what a life changing event it would be for me at least, wow But I’ll keep dreaming keeping my vibration as high as I can and try harder maybe the u I erase will manifest this ride for me. man, that guy was one lucky back seater
Mid-America Flight Museum in Mount Pleasant Texas does free rides in many of their planes for vets. I just had a ride in a T-6 a few weeks ago. They don't have an Apache or F-18, but do have some helos and other warbirds. Just depends on what's flying that day. They are only open on Saturdays, BTW.
I gave three years of my life and flew some US Army 2APR68 to 29APR71. B Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cav. Vinh Long. I was a turbine engine mechanic but hopped in at every chance for test flights. I was on a night flight around 2:30 AM and was asked to take the controls while the pilot wrote some things down. Okay, and he fell asleep. Pretty soon I'm flying in pitch dark with an inop artificial horizon in front of me. So I made a left turn back toward the town and base that were well lit up. Then he wakes up when in the bank and a slight dive. After that he managed to stay awake until landing back in the revetment. Then fell asleep again while in the cool down phase. Here he had been awake for 27 hours straight, and made three trips to Saigon prior to this flight. Another Cobra came back from a day of missions with two bullet holes in the canopy, from the same bullet. The first one came in the front of the windscreen and exited to the left of the back seater's shoulder. We put a string between both holes and figured each of them were leaning opposite directions and looking down or they probably would have both got it in their heads. Imagine you are the VC that made that shot. He would be thinking, this rifle is no damned good, and throw it on the ground. When in reality, it was a perfect shot and only missed shooting the Cobra down by an inch or two.
I think I'm going to do a video today of a full start up and drive to Walmart and shut down of my 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan. Let me know what you all think. Should I include the pre-drive inspection? Oil level, transmission and coolant check etc.
This has always been my favorite chopper of The Flying Bulls!! Is this the original bird that was damaged or another one? Awesome video!!❤❤ I would absolutely love to take a ride!! So would many others 😂
What's that mansions and yachts I was looking at?????? WTF? How many fithy rich people are there? But what better place to be than the most beautiful place i've ever seen.
imagine running around Afghanistan with your little ak, and then out of nowhere you see a redbull sponsored AH-1F COBRA just annihilating your buddies lmao, redbull gives you wiings has a whole new meaning lmao, cobra gives you wings! LMAO
The significance of the exciting video could have been increased if an off-screen commentary or the communication between the two pilots could have been heard. Otherwise, a really impressive video. Thank you.😀

Thanks man! Thats all we are here for 🙌🙌🙌
So many dials and gauges… hey what’s up with the soda cans. And not Red Bulls?
The start up is the best part! I love hearing the turbine come to life! I'm actually disappointed when the start up is skipped.

Welcome to the club! if I may ask, what model is it?
The profile of that helicopter is so rad.
Fully
Someone hit the jackpot :) Nice workplace in a Cobra and flying in such beautiful locations 👍
It’s nice to see they got another cobra up and flying after they had the little mishap with the last one.
As a german, what a beautiful machine...
Not by the colour, but the shape... 😍👏🏻
Such a beauty. And those banks with the scenery was awesome to see

It is crazy how the Marines just keep adding bigger and bigger engines and more blades on their AH-1's. I think the latest is the AH-1Z.
Most, if not all Zulu model cobras are new manufacture. Last year, I had the opportunity to ride front seat on an F model Cobra operated by the AAHF. It was an awesome experience!
It might be the last version of the AH-1 but it was flying in the early 2000’s.
My BiL flew the G model in Viet Nam and was a VP of International Sales at Bell. He said the marines liked the cobra because they could carry what they needed in a tool bag and they were flying when the Army was down because the Blackhawks and Apaches were having trouble with the sand.
If they redesigned it they'd forget it was theirs.

Redbull wasn't just drinks brand, Its hobby brand! You just name it, most of it they do!🔥
If an activity, ANY activity, has at least two participants you can be sure Redbull will get involved XD
I honestly didn't know if this was real footage or not until they showed the pilot -- video games have gotten that good.

I thought for sure it was Microsoft Flight Sim 2 about to come out. I was thinking damn I can't wait to check that dash out in VR 😅
This is such a cool and great video!
I stood in front of that exact helicopter at RedBull Hangar 7 and I was impressed how big the thing actually is!
These videos just keep getting better and better👍👍
Another fantastic video. Thanks for taking us along on this one 🤙
I would always hear those flying around Camp Pendleton. Very distinctive sound
I saw the thumbnail and thought some kid just painted a model cobra helicopter to promote red bull. God damn ya'll got too much money lol
That's freakin' awesome.
Phenomenal video! I feel bad for the mod creator of the AH-1G in DCS. Boy he's gonna have a lot of pressure from the community after this hype video!
haha plenty of inspiration then 🔥
