Rock Train K94 w Crew Change At Powell Yard Manassas, Va.

- This train came from the back side of the Powell Yard and parked, they had a crew change. If things seem to be a little fast, I put it on a faster speed watching the crew get out of the train and walk across the yard to the office. Some how I missed the train leaving the yard and switch tracks. I picked it up once again when they came back across Wellington Road, Westbound. Later it came back but took the back part of the wye and thru the back end of the Powell Yard again towards the city of Manassas then out to Alexandria, Va. as this train goes into Manassas a VRE comes thru the yard and southbound to its last stop at Broad Run/Airport.

Beautiful VIDEO 👍👍👍 thanks for sharing 💐🌹 my dear friends 👍 Walden
Neat video Kathy! ☺
Rare to see a crew change love it!
This took a lot longer than other ones I’ve seen. Most of the time the relief crew is waiting for the train to arrive. Then they all talk a few minutes before the new crew gets on board and check things over before they take off. I have several crew changes in vids at other locations. I’m very happy you enjoyed watching this video. The new crew went to pick up the rocks andcame back. The little extra train (VRE) on the end is our commuter train that only travels to and from Washington DC during rush hours only.
@@kgirl4078 hey do you think we can railfan together soon?
Tennessee is a long distance away from where I live. Last week I went up to Harpers Ferry which was a long drive, then didn’t get there until after 4pm. Give me some ideas and I’ll talk with my husband about driving me somewhere where it wouldn’t be too far from either of us.
@@kgirl4078 I'll have to think I'll text you back in the morning
Middle Tennessee Railfan ok !
Love the Horse on the front of the Engine
I do like seeing the horse on the train too. I think he’s called the galloping through bred ( sorry about the spelling).
Awesome catch Kathy
Thanks Giovanni, I’m glad you liked my video :-))
Wow great trains
Hank you very much for watching, I’m glad you liked my video :-))
Interesting to see a crew change in Manassas. Usually they would crew change in Bristow. Very cool!
I was thinking the same thing ! Then the new crew go to Vulcan to pick up the cars loaded with rock then take it to Alexandria. Well I guess the crew had already worked their shift and needed to go off duty.
Thanks for watching my video and I’m glad you liked it :-))
Crew changes there because K94 and K90 are both called out of Manassas Yard.
This was a crew change between K90 and K94.
Fantastic video there Kathy especially seeing the two Crew members of this locomotive changing over to see who will be next to drive the train
These guys took too long walking so I sped them up a little, LOL ! I’m sure they will never notice how fast they walked. I couldn’t believe that they left the door open so long, ut later I saw a guy com out so I guess he was standing guard.
Thanks again for watching my video as always, I’m glad you enjoyed watching it :-))
Kathy simon so you speed things up abit love because it was taking much longer
Scott I also delete cars if it’s a long train. My statistics say that most people don’t watch my videos all the way thru, that my average is only just over a minute long, so to keep people from getting bored I speed things up. I’ve seen people that will write 3 comments on 3 separate vids of mine all within 2 minutes time, and those vids of mine were about 10 minutes in length combined. It’s impossible to to watch all three in that amount of time. These people think if they write something on their vids the that person will go and watch this other person’s vids. I watch the vids I comment on in full.
NS crew goes in style, no grocery bags like the CSX crew. LOL. Great catch, Kathy. - Drew
That’s funny, I didn’t notice that ! I’ve never seen a crew change there and I’ve never seen two NS units come from that direction. They came from the city of Manassas which is rare to see a NS come thru the city. I’ve spent hours sitting at this location. I guess I’ll see more and more different things the more I spend out there.
Thanks again for watching another one of my vids, I appreciate it very much :-))
😁👍🏼
Very nice video my dear friend
Thank you very much, I’m glad you liked my video :-))
Hi Kathy. Very good one with some nice backgrounds. 9950 looks like it needs a trip to the wash shed. HA HA. As always enjoy.
Thanks Mike, I don’t know how I missed your comment here. I appreciate you watching my video and I’m glad you liked it. Some of the units do look pretty bad. I’m not sure if had just come back from Alexandria where he unloaded the rocks from the morning train, maybe that’s why he looked so bad.
Are you guys ready for Halloween ? Are the kids dressing up, my youngest granddaughter is going to be a mermaid 🧜♀️ and another granddaughter is going as Mary Popkins and her father will be a Chimney Sweeper, I have some cute pics of them. Have the kids make up a Halloween-video of them in their outfits if they do dress up, that would be cool and they can always look back on it ! :-))
Hi Kathy. The kids party is tonight. I think they have all ready picked who's carrying the camera. They'll post some on my channel . Have a good day. As always enjoy.
Nice! Cool crew change!
Thanks Ericson, this was done a little different from what I’ve seen in the past. I’ve never saw a crew change there at he Powell Yard. It took a long time so I sped up thee guys walking to and from the unit also where the engines were just sitting there for a long time and I cut out some of that time.
I appreciate you watching and liking my video, Thank You :-))
Very nice capture!
Thank you very much, I’m glad you watched and liked my video :-))
Nice NS Power Kathy
What a cool EMD! And nice catch on the crew change!! So they have a door on the nose, I see, i honestly have been wondering about that.lol snuck out of the yard on ya! Thanks for sharing!
I don’t know how that happened the they snuck past me. I must have thought it was another VRE or Amtrak train on that side of the wye and may not have wanted to get out of the car and get cold. Well I did catch it at one point passing me but not on the other side. LOL. Glad you watched and liked my video, thanks :-))
Great catch!

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed watching my video :-))
Windy.I would love to talk to a member of a train crew whether it be the Conductor or Engineer. Thanks for the video.
My step father in law was an old engineer, he started with steam then went to diesel with out any training before. He engineered the 611 three separate times. I have a short video of him talking about a few things but I was only planning to tape him talking but I filmed him with my phone turned in the wrong direction. That’s why I have never posted it. He also said that he wished he had never retired from Southern Railway.
I have other friends that worked for the rail road so when they get together they surely have some great stories. I’m happy you liked watching my video, Thank You :-))
Totally Love it!
I’m live now!
Great video
Thanks again David. I’m happy you enjoyed my video tonight :-))
Cool

nice video Kathy
Thank you very much, I’m glad you liked my video :-))
Nice video kathy
Thank you very much,I was afraid it was too long so I made the guys walk a little faster, and cut out parts that the train was just sitting there with no movement.
I’m happy you liked my video, Thank You :-))
Great video, Kathy, interesting the way the hoppers are loaded
I guess the '9950' suffered of a bit of 'overheating'
You missed a couple of my videos last week ;-)
Thanks again for watching my video André, I’m not going to my notifications section very much and that’s probably why, I do apologize, I’ll take a look at your channel and check it out. I’ve missed so many these past few weeks, I’ll need to get up to Wegmans earlier. Lee is trying to show me different ways of putting my videos together and I’m having a hard time getting to my RUclips video Manager, I’ll try to catch up on your vids tomorrow :-))
@@kgirl4078 no problem, Kathy, I am quite late replying also ;-)
And I' ve noticed that quite often, some comments enter as a Spam, even though they are regular subcribers, so I have to go to each of my videos, and check out comments that ar e in the SPAM section, and approve them...
I was doing that too but Lee kept telling me about RUclips Manager, you can go into the spam file and on the right side is a button and it will ask you four questions. You just mark the one that says something like, never put this person’s comments in spam. But you have to go down a list of your subscribers. I did about 30 the other day.
Now Lee is having me put end screens at the end of my vids so now I have to figure out where to ask people to hit the like button and subscribe. Your last 20 or so seconds are for these pop up vids you want to promote on your or another person’s vids.
@@kgirl4078 thanks Kathy, I am not quite sure what is RUclips Manager, I probably have the old version. Concerning the Spams, it seems always the same subscribers, one from Pakistan, and 2 from India.... Lately, I had a few members asking me to subscribe to their channels, which are not trains related, so I replied politely that I was a very busy guy, and that I had time only to comment on trains related videos ;-)
Awesome video! I uploaded another railfanning video last weekend!
Shore Extreme Outdoors I’ll go check it out, thought I watched all of them, if not I will ! I’m glad you liked my video. Thank You :-))
