I agree with you 100%! My favourite documentary (along with The Filth and the Fury) and better than any boxing movie. I first saw it when the BBC had an Ali night in 1998. Like you, I also watched it on the day Muhammad Ali's death was announced. I've still got the DVD. I didn't know it was coming out on blu ray. Could be a Christmas present to ask for!

Ah long gone are those BBC days I feel! Glad you have love for the film too! And yes, November 4th it is out, so perfect Christmas present right?

Wanna great boxing movie ? Check out The Harder They Fall 1956. Bogart's final film which is a powerful document on corruption and exploitation of the sport that pulls no punches (pun intended).

It's one I haven't seen Gav actually. Love to see it though!

@reel_reflections can't recommend it high enough. I'm a lifelong Bogart fan so any bias aside, it's a very tough looking movie in every sense. Worth watching for Rod Steiger chewing the scenery whilst the laconic (and sadly gravelly ill) Bogart watches on bemused by the Method approach ! Fairly brutal for its time too. Check it out mate.
