@@diannebuswell1805oody for you. So go watch them, racist. Use a few brain cells, this happened in 1981 in Oregon. How many non-white (minority) residents lived in Oregon at that time? Probably damn few. You’ve shown your ignorance here quite abundantly. This happened, thus there’s no reason why this movie should be banned.

This movie was made im my hometown of McMinville Oregon. I was 22 years old at the time.. I graduated from McMinnvile High School in 1978 "Home of the Grizzles" ! At aprox. 34:41 I can be seen standing on the ramp that leads up to the stadium. I'm the young girl with blonde hair, wearing light tan pants and a brown leather jacket. I'm standing next to a little boy with his arm draped over the railing. My big "movie moment" ! Sure takes me back ! I'll be 60 years young this year.

The team are so kind with her, I liked so much how they treat her like a little sister outside the game and in practices, and inside the field they treat her with such respect. I liked a lot too they went to buy her a dress and also the lady on the shop that sold them the dress cheaper without them notice it ♥♥♥

    • @joec9693

I always appreciated that they never did the "Jerk Jock" stereotype and that the team only cares about the fact that she can actually play really well. They were never mean just awkward at first not knowing how to act around her (tackling her but apologizing for it) but once they saw she could actually play that was all they needed to know. And once the most popular boys in the school accepted her pretty much everyone else accepted her, it was instead the parents the "adults" that acted like stereotypical high school kids mean comments, gossiping behind peoples back very cliquey.

Great inspirational story. I graduated in 1979 and there were 2 girls who decided they wanted to play on our football team. They didnt last the season but they were at least given the opportunity. Its a tough sport and a lot of physical contact. I admire and respect those who try. We are only limited to the dreams we have for ourselves. I dont ever see a day tho that women will play in the NFL .

always one of my favorite! I was the girl who grew up with the guys. they always let me play, fish, whatever i wanted. I will always miss those days. I'm still close with them all.

The real Tami was 14 years old when she played one year in Oregon. Her only experience playing football prior to the year in Oregon was playing flag football in Canada. After, she played girls basketball.
    She was 5'2" 117lbs.

    What a wonderful movie..
Helen is and always was an Outstanding Leading Actress.
The supporting actors and actresses did a Fantastic job.
Now,I think I've seen most all her movies.
    What a Woman.
Fell in Love with her first time I ever saw her...

Really fantastic movie, even more because it's based on a true story! Great actresses/actors all of them, but I simply adore Helen Hunt (it's allowed to say because she was playing a highschool kid but already 20yo when doing this movie). Unfortunately the picture quality isn't very good, also the format. Nevertheless: Thank you so much for uploading and sharing.

A lovely movie about a brave family and daughter. Back when times were simpler. Miss the good old days.
Wonder how they all fared later on in life. Hope they all did and are doing well.

Who's watching in 2018 and this is how the movie should have ended.Tammy breaks up with Scott, gets with BJ , stays in Grizzly Country to play 🏈 and love happily ever after w/ her family and the football team and BJ oh and her friends 😊😊

I heard of this movie, but never watch it, bejng a senior citizen + a military veteran goes to show u giving any chance a young lady like this one can b so successful with awesome support, starting w/ family + good friends supporting her the right way always was a very good movie hopefully this lead to no more stereotype of any kind kudos to her amazing 😮

Great movie. Helen Hunt is one of my fav actresses. Still think her greatest performance is in 'As Good As It Gets'. I'm a little puzzled why everybody thought BJ was a better match. Her and Scot were great together.

This movie is so funny, I find myself cracking up throughout the movie. Especially love how the guys welcome Tammy by saying, Tammy & her super-bra!!Her teammates love her & the men need their heads examined, along with their nosy wife's who make everything their business. Her awesome family stands behind her in this situation. Love her mom's stand against the overgrown female bullies (supposed ladies with dresses on): who need a spokesperson!!

I'm trying out for rugby this year! I've never actually done a team sport with people, only riding, but they need more people to try out or they won't be able to have a team this year, so I'm doing it for my friend. Wish me luck.
