IMHO most of the stuff that goes viral gets exposure because of its virtuosity. I‘ve nothing against virtuosity, but I‘m old enough to remember a time when artists strived for developing their own unique voice and style. That - to me - is the mark of the artist: To develop your personality by making the best possible use of the instrument. I don‘t listen to people who sound like Coltrane or Brecker or Metheny. I listen to Coltrane, Brecker, and Metheny (and the list goes on). Long story short: A heartfelt thank you for giving me so much joy through your music. It‘s appreciated. And it made me pick up the guitar again and keep learning and starting all over. You‘re an inspiration.
