    What a great vid man and lovely little project. The tree turned out beautifully. Great blending of colours at the end and overall shape and look of the tree. You’d definitely find me camping in there. Awesome stuff Michael.

      Thanks so much!! I do enjoy the video production side almost as much as the craft side too... trying new things, seeing what works. It's fun to try stuff out but hard to know what really engages an audience. What I like and what viewers like is not always the same thing lol

    I recommend using grey Magic-Sculpt for pieces like this. Forces you to go fast, uses water to smooth out and turns rock hard in 2-3 hours. Can layer up batches too. The sets for Nightmare Before Christmas were created with it so they can even be walked on. It's my favorite material! The tree can be modeled in 3-4 hours with Magic-Sculpt. Super Sculpy has the rubbery surface that's hard to spread and carve away. It cracks and shatters too...

    Very nice result, and where you were on holiday looked gorgeous. I was slightly worried seeing you stick superglue in the oven as that can release some nasty cyanide compouds as vapour, but maybe it was sealed inside the putty.

    Very relaxing and instructive video. I want to try clay and other modeling material at some point.
    Question, I get that you are using the transparent film to prevent fingerprint when applying the texture, but what's the purpose of the film when texturing with your tool (when you traced the lines)? I'm clueless on anything modeling with clay and other material like that.
    thanks.

    • @Nat1videos
      @Nat1videos  Год назад +1

      haha yes indeed! My daughter always tells me the truth about my crafting... it helps keep me in perspective haha So yes, the cling film also helps with the sculpting to keep it smooth. When you drag tools through clay it can stick to the tool and pull up little lumps and bumps here and there. With the film on everything remains a lot smoother!
