My Dad took me too this movie when it came out I was 8 years old. i remember it like it was yesterday. The part where there walking down a path separated by a wall an the soldier looks back and see's the Germans were right on the other side of the wall walking the other way. That scene really stuck with me. Fantastic movie forr the day so many big stars.
@@somethingiknow26 Oh interesting. The original movie was released in BW (even won an Oscar for BW editing). I wonder if they shot in color? Seems unlikely. Maybe they just re-colored a few clips sometime in the 90s? I Seem to remember that was a fad for a short time.
Pluskat survived the war, was a consultant for the movie, and died at the age of 90 in 2002.

...and mine. Get him to look at the one in The Train, thats even better!
Tell him to look at this one also. The Train (4/10) Movie CLIP - Spitfire Attack (1964) HD
One of the greatest movies about the D-Day invasion.
The German shepherd had more sense to move out cause he heard the ships move in before the fleet moved in by sight.
0:40 The most inaccurate Spitfire cockpit in the history of movie making.
They sounded like P51's too.
@@PlymouthVT Same engine in both aircraft - just made in different countries.
I would guess they're supposed to be Typhoons since that's what the British used for ground attack.
@@ggregd Not even Typhoons looked like that.
Because it's NOT a Spitfire. It's a Hawker Typhoon.
The Germans couldn’t launch a major counter attack against the Allied forces at Normandy because the RAF and USAF had complete control of the airspace
and the color version???
Isn't the film originally in BW? I bet AI will fix this in a few years.
@@tglimm the was released in color version but on youtube i could find only few retail VHS clips
