Was my favourite performance of the night. Definitely some opportunities for improvement (e.g. enunciation in a few parts) but overall a very competent performance that was sold so well with a brilliant choreo moment (the flip) and a melody that sticks in your head.
We had poland from last year with weaker vocals and lazier choero do well, this should do even better, the camera angles and lighting in Malmö could elevate it further
Well the difference between Malta and Poland is the fact that Poland is a televote powerhouse, most times finishing top 10 in the televotes, while Malta barely gets anything. Blanka also went viral before esc, and got rly lucky with the semi final draw (Lithuania, UK, Ukraine voting in the same semi)
Why is she being compared to Chanel? Is it because she is a woman with: singing and dancing abilities, long hair, beauty, catsuit attire, or because of the presence of 4 male dancers? These comparisons seem outdated and just flaunted for the sake of it, because the song is completely a different style. This is just like comparing any act with a saxophone to SunStroke Project.... boh
Yes…yes, that’s exactly why. Because all of those things have notable similarities to SloMo and its performance, and it doesn’t need to. I want to see more of SARAH, because she’s clearly talented enough to stand on her own. I loved the originality points that came to this final - like the 360 degree flip. More of that please! Stick out or fade into the girlbop background, that’s where I see things 🤷🏻♀️😁
most likely only a few people notice this part of that entry, but this also has some K-pop elements that I love; this is like a good combination of western pop (something that Dua Lipa or Anne Marie might bring) and K-Pop (something that Aespa, Blackpink, Itzy or Twice might release). in fact, even Dua Lipa and Blackpink have collabed with each other in the song "Kiss and Make Up"; the melody is not similar enough, but the vibes might be similar enough.
This is my winner this year, I just love this song so much. However, I am deeply worried for Sarah, Malta always struggles with the televote, and semi 2 will have many girlbops, I just think Malta will be lost in the sauce, but I hope and pray that I am wrong, because I just love this song.
She had the most complete package but she left me cold. We've seen Chanel do all those moves but better, with better stage presence and steadier vocals. Not sure how much better it could get since it was already revamped but I'm not writing it off. There's enough time if she goes to the lab right away.
This IS very bad for the Benidorm Fest, 2 flops out of 3 IS no good. RTVE response yesterday IS something i have never seen before, they were backing off, they staged a false tie with the jury to tell the public: now you choose dont come crying afterwards. I have never seen such a 'submissive' attitude by TVE. It would not be a surprise that they might be thinking of quitting the Benidorm Fest. Unless Benidorm Fest IS economically profitable i would not be surprised if It disappeared sooner than later
Gonna have to personally disagree on this one. This is the most OK song I've ever heard, there's just nothing to it. Competition doesn't matter if you ain't memorable. This is just too bland, and will definitely struggle even in semi 2. Bops aren't guaranteed Qs, female pop ain't guaranteed Q, especially when Malta always struggles with televote. Is it impossible for it to Q? No, it can be borderline, but I just fail to see motives to pick up the phone for this
No, just an emphatic no. Matt Blxck, Ryan Hili or Erba should of won MESC, each of those entries had not only a strong chance to qualify but, place within the Top 15
Sorry but i'm gonna have to disagree. Maybe Matt blxck but definitely not Ryan hili or Erba. I like Ryan, but his song was not strong enough. I'm dying for him to get a better song. Erba unfortunately on the other hand didn't have stage presence. Low energy, even though it was better than their semi, but ultimately didn't sell the song to me and by the vote result, to other people either, and they were highly favored going into this so the results speak for themselves.
@HZ-fg9sf I'd love to see Ryan with a Lewis Capaldi /Ed Sheeran type of song, twice now the songs he chose don't do him justice - I just love his voice, a real shame
People who loved Chanel will hate this. IF YOU CANNOT IMPROVE IT then don't do it! She is like a very bad Chanel wannabe. Even infringing a copyrighted coreography. In 2024, don't send someone who is just a girl who might become as good as Chanel, maybe in 5 years.
