I have the orange Ray. First upgrade to do on these is the spring Bars. Put a good set of thicker SBs on it. Hard to find a better 200m diver for under $200.

I agree with you… I have both… I think the point is this one can be hard for $130 and the Komatsu is a little over $200 depending on where you find it… Keep in mind the Komasu has a terrible bracelet as well…!
The Orient Ray II and Mako II are the ideal solution for those folks who want a competent, reliable, good-looking automatic dive-style watch for under $150 but for whatever reason will not buy from that infamous Chinese retail site. Surprise, you turned a perfectly fine Orient into an SKX but with a proper hand winding and hacking movement. That doubled the price of the watch and completely killed the value proposition. At least you admitted it.
Glad to see that they’ve fixed the bezel action. Earlier versions were almost impossible to turn.
