Whoa. Small world. I’ve done a handful of gigs there!! I recognized the thumbnail right away! Funny to see a channel I’ve watched a handful of times also be in my stomping grounds!
Not a PA / Event guy here but what we have done in our Motorhome that we really love is that we added Ariline rails wich make it really easy to add straps whilst staying flexible with where you want them and they also dont take up any Space
@gamingforlive2150 I'm actually choosing these for the van! I got one side done already (thought the package came with 2 lol) and finishing it up soon. Love how slim they are!
sick van dude! have you thought about partitioning the cargo bay from the cab? that way you can just load it from the back like a normal truck, and strap the back. Park it facing downhill, and it loads itself!
I have! I originally thought I'd like to load the van from the back like I did my trailer, and I still may end up doing that in the future when I have more equipment to fill it. Currently I've been enjoying having a little bit of walk space right behind us for whatever reason, and it's really nice to pull right up to a door or entry that lines up to the side door instead of backing in. I'm sure its a horse a peice, but my current brain likes the side load situation! I have since leveled the ground in front of my shed to accommodate such thoughts 😁
Setting up arrays with 2 people and in a hurry while everyone is watching you is nightmare fuel😂 was in this scenario last weak and i used Martin cdd live 15s and 2 sxc 118 subs. Really easy setup with an xr12. And even if it wasn't a stressful setup a line array for that tiny stage is a push and its a really overkill system.
Ahaha it was definitely a bit anxiety inducing, especially wearing a camera on top of it all 😅 The pole Mount array is definitely an easy setup, and was definitely not overkill tho. For the 100 degree coverage and being so lightweight is the reason I switched from trap boxes. There was never a way to get the trap boxes off the ground without more cases, and I definitely don't want to stack them on subs and split the low end array. I like the sound of bigger cabinets, but this is much more manageable to set up effectively by myself if needed. I plan on getting lifts to fly them for bigger shows as well.
E track actually doesn't fit on the steel framing of the van unfortunately, but I've found that the slimmer L-track does, so I've added that now! I'll have to do a video once I get the van "done"
Yeah! Most consoles now have the ability to be remote controlled! This makes it super nice to mix from anywhere, and get an idea of what the audience is hearing in different places too.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to be getting some lifts next year for larger gigs. Looking at Kuzar for the price and they are less than 6ft collapsed, so they will fit in the van.
Hey, nice setup! Doing alot of gigs with the hdl6-a's aswell, first time on youtube at least seeing someone else actually use them. Really need to get them flown though, the bottom 2 boxes (in this example) are not doing much, but I get it, its pretty sketchy getting them up higher polemounting them, if your tripod wasn't at max height anyway. Also small note about your acces point, I see you have the antenna's facing in a Y, to get the best range, I would put them straight up, as that's how they're meant to be in your usecase, they're "looking" at the ground in the current setup you use. Keep up the good work! Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you! The HLD6s are very impressive for sure! You definitely want 3+ per side if you are doing any music more dense than acoustic or very soft rock. You need multiple cabinets to get the beef and the thickness in the low mids. I could never get the "punch" out of a snare until I had 3 per side. 4 has been great! The next step will be to fly them properly and get them up in the air. And yes, the 9006 is a monster! One can keep up with 4 to 6 boxes but is pushing it. I really need a second one. Then everything with be balanced headroom-wise in this system. For now, I just dial the tops back about 6 to 8db in the processor.
me personally will pack the van with heavy and big stuff near to the front seat and strap all up..I think it much easier to drive (handling) the van in corners..
Hey Evan- love your videos- I’m also a production guy and I’ve been interested in sharing my shows- what would you recommend for this all day vlogs you do camera wise? So, what do you use to strap to your chest rig to capture the whole day ? Thanks in advance !
Hey thanks!! This was shot on a DJI Action 5 with a chest harness mount. The battery life is REALLY good. 3+ hours in 4k 24fps. An action camera is definitely a more convenient option than my full sized Sony for this situation, and gets the job done! Thanks for watching the vids and hope this helps!
For the one I'm holding, it's the Presonus Univeral Control app for the consoles. For the lighting setup, I'm using Daslight 5, and a DMX node connected to my network in the rack to allow us to be wireless for these types of gigs.
Hey! It was purchased from Soundworks Systems in Steven's Point, WI. It has the RCF logo on it, but I think they order them custom. Give them a call, they are really good people to do business with.
That is a Huge Setup that is Time Consuming especially me Living where we get Hot Summers, If I started a Production Company, I would use RCF Evox 12 and JBL VRX932LA and JBL VRX918S, And I do Hate when People Watch me Setup my DJ Setup and I Do want to get People Distracted to make it look like the Equipment Appeared like Magic even if it didn't
@TylerMarletteNY I'm handling the crossovers in a DBX PA2 processor. Sometimes when I send the system out with another engineer and only the console, the system is split up and processed from L, R, Sub Matricies.
Congratulations on the setup, and congratulations to her for the great help, great team, and they look very professional.

Wow how stressful. As a five year light tech i know that some small gigs can suck. I feel you mate.

look into adding an E-track system for you van, it will 100% solve your problem of not enough points to strap to.

Wait so instead of being on the main sound deck you roam around fixing on the tablet? thruout or just for soundcheck? cause if so thats SICK.

stressful setup mate. feel ya pain
My larger van in my case was a game changer.
Speaker stands I recommend getting K&M 213 crank stands for the Hdl6 boxes they will be easier to raise

@@redshedrecords can confirm the Kuzar k40’s rock. Especially for the HDL6’s. I have 14 boxes and for the money they’re great!

@ yes, I was referring to 4 per side. You’ll need the trailer soon for those subs lol

This is the Presonus Studiolive Series III 24 console and the 32r rack mixer that can also be a stagebox. They are great!!

did you buy 9006 subs??
Yes! So far we only have one of them, but it's truly a monster! I'm aiming to complete this system with a second one sometime next year 🤞
