Thanks for this video. I just started doing video podcast instead of just audio only and I got over my fear. I'm still very nervous but I keep going. I love it. ❤️ Great tips! 👍
Great tips, thanks for sharing. The other day someone sent a newsletter to not reinvent the wheel and now I’ve learnt to exaggerate my persona from you. Amazing stuff.
I have to take the time to tell you how amazing this video is. It’s real, it’s relatable and it’s valuable. It’s not the repeated, bullet point, cliches that most videos give. They seem robotic and this video is human. Awesome
Thank you SO much! We just launched our video podcast this week but are stuck how to grow. This has been the most helpful video I’ve watched so far! You’re awesome!
Great ideas, I've done all that for years and still have negligible downloads. I've actually experienced the opposite: podcast clips don't seem to perform well as shorts/reels anymore, but original videos do much better. YMMV I guess, but it's still a well-made video!
I’ve had the same experience! I’ve only been podcasting for 9 months but the video components have done nothing for my podcast listens, even when they’ve gone a bit viral and gained me followers on those other platforms. I just had a TikTok clip do over 200k views and it translated to a massive 7 new downloads on the podcast episode 🤷🏼♀️ it makes me wonder if I should be prioritizing TikTok instead of podcasting because I can monetize so much faster
+1. Just added video this week and no explosion! I've done most of the other things for a year and it's pretty stagnant (and exaggeration I don't think is a big deal - I'm a character actor and high-masking autistic). I'm very, very niche pod topic though.
Let's get this straight, youtube has over 51 million channels, there are over 15 million content creators & more than 500 hours of content is uploaded every minute, yes every minute! No one has the magic formula, its all hindsignt is 20/20 story. Do content 'coz you have something to share, 'coz you enjoy doing it and in style that is authentic to you that is the only thing sustainable.
I started adding video this year and just started publishing a few short form video excerpts this week - great to see this alignment. thanks for the video!
Thanks for the tips, The growth is really slow but with each episode I’m learning new things and always trying to improve, I even made my first trailer for episode 13 and reworked all the lighting and post production as I had made some terrible choices previously with being new to the video side of podcasts but currently views are down on that one so far 😆 however I think if I keep on this path of improvement overtime the growth will follow, hopefully 😆 Good luck to everyone starting out too🙏 😎
Wow. I'm an online marketing coach, been at this for seventeen years (since 2007!) and have not started my podcast yet. I'm doing it now and - no joke - this is the FIRST video I'm watching about how to actually do it (marketing first ;) ). This is GOLD! Soooo freakin' useful. Thank you for the bits about video - I will just launch it with video right off the bat. Can't wait to watch the rest of your stuff!! THANK YOU!
What about if I want a person journal type of podcast? Do you think without the dynamic of two people talking it will be interesting for short, video ??? I’m so nervous but thank you so much for the lovely advices!
These are helpful from the perspective of building your personal brand. What I'm still left wondering is how do you actually grow your podcast distribution and ensure that people actually tune in. I post video snippets on IG every week but its not really led to any great results.
Awesome video! Thank you! Just for the record... the way the Blue Yeti in the background-b-roll is set up, is NOT the way one should set up a Yeti. It's a side-address microphone, not a fron-address Just needed to get that off my chest. :)
You put it nicely when you said the dreaded thing” record a video” and then you hit the nail on the coffin when you mentioned “TikTok” I honestly don’t want to change my podcast style to this way, as it’s not about me or my personality, my podcast doesn’t not fit within the visual medium and so I dread TikTok and Snapchat. If you know Lore or Myth and Legends, this what my podcast is similar too. It’s a grind honestly but I have passion for what I do and even with the burnout and not getting returns for my huge investment, it’s still worth it and enjoyable. Thanks for the tips though!
My audio editing is so meticulous that it wouldn’t work with a video edit, as it would be ridiculously choppy. I envy people who can podcast and be on camera without making too many mistakes. I agree a video strategy is a benefit, but I just can’t see it working for me. You can finesse the “reality” of what happened in audio so much easier than with video.
@@jeanfallah4161 I shorten long pauses, remove unnecessary umms, fix it when people stumble over their sentences, remove false starts, and sometimes shift audio around if laughs overpower someone speaking and they can’t be heard. Etc.
This video is 1 yr old the time of me commenting but hey 🤷🏾♂️ my podcast is audio only nd i dont plan on doing video but i do see how just turning the camera on can put you in a different zone
I dont like when some podcasters talk too fast. It is off putting too me. Slow down and take your time so listeners wil stay on your channel. I immediatey log off if they talk too fast
Hi everyone I'm Teacher Adriana. I just launched my first podcast! It's a podcast spoken 100% in slow English for intermediate and advanced English speakers. My podcast is also a chance for people who are moving to Australia to get to know more about the culture, daily life, and of course the language.
Thanks@@podsoundschool! I'm from Australia (born and raised), however a year ago I moved to Italy where I am focusing my attention on teaching English as a second language.
With Riverside.fm you can record audio and video in one session. They also released a new feature allowing you to edit your video and audio like a word doc. Your mind is looking for obstacles instead of solutions. Work on your mindset! 💪🏽❤️ ( more work)

Could you give me pointers
Did it help alot? Was thinking of going to a video format but so far not sure if its worth it

I was thinking yesterday I need to clip up some highlights into shorts and reels. Thanks for giving me a little nudge! New Subscriber

Great video and great tips. Thank you
Thank you.. Very helpful tips, we're over here struggling
You got this!
If you exaggerate who you are, isn't that being inauthentic to who you really are in everyday life?
Only if you stay the same as you are. The idea is to exaggerate yourself into improvement and change. To become something you’re not.
Do y’all have any videos that explain the *how* tech etc of how to do all of this?
Great video thanks and think it will help my podcast for dads
This is very insightful🙌🏿 thank you

This is good!
Is this the podcast feature on RUclips?
