Love this review! I dusted off this unused deck and book a few days ago and started journaling with it. What a beauty it is! I know exactly what you mean about that initial sinking feeling, but persistence pays off. It’s refreshing, interesting and deep, also on point with its messages and cuts through self delusion. Everything has its time to shine!
really enjoyed your thoughts! especially about "shadow work". and about the process of bonding with the deck . i hope you feel better immediately!! rest and good tea and chicken soup says the doctor.
I just got this deck, along with ICHING. Yesterday I saged/cleansed each card. Then did a reading with all three decks: my Mystic Shaman Oracle, The Animal Tarot, and ICHING, it was AMAZING!
Even when sick you make great reviews! 👏I bought this deck for myself as a birthday present this November and I'm quite excited to get to know it better. I chose this one for exactly the reason you mentioned - how Leeza Robertson writes about each animal, their behaviour or some other biological facts about it and explains why the animal was chosen for the particular card. It's like a nature documentary. For the same reason I like the Animal Kin Oracle by Sarah Wilder. But I totally understand how this deck isn't for everybody, it does require the study, reading the guidebook, and I don't know if it's good for normal readings like spreads (but I don't do spreads often...). Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about it. I would wish you a speedy recovery but I hope now you're already feeling better 😄Much love 💗
Didnt' you get also the Brady Tarot? Or I'm making stuff up? Which could be very possible haha. If yes, have you had time to see which one you like better? As an animal deck I mean.
@@dots_explorations I haven't bought the Brady Tarot (yet) and indeed, they are similar. I bought this as it is a mass market alternative... I am so glad you bought it, looking forward to your thoughts on it after you've gotten to know it more! I'm glad you picked up on the good stuff in the guidebook.. I don't have the Animal Kin and would love to get it (the Hay House one, right?). But it's price went astronomical so I am waiting until demand/ supply is better so I can purchase it at a more reasonable price point...
@@darkfaetarotAh, so it seems I confused the Brady tarot with some other deck from your big deck haul from last year, oops 😅. Yes, the Animal Kin from Hay House. Argh, those price fluctuations are so frustrating. Interestingly, some time ago I saw that Sarah Wilder was working on a plant oracle and I couldn't wait to get it. I think it was supposed to come out in 2020. You could even pre-order it at book depository. Again from Hay House. But it got cancelled, I guess. And again last year I saw the pre-order was re-activated. This time for 2022 release. And again it's not active now. As if it got cancelled again. Which is a shame because I really like both the artwork and writings from her. I'm glad you're feeling better now. I stand corrected: wishing you good health for all of the 2022! 😆
@@dots_explorations ah, thanks up re the plant oracle, I will keep an eye out for it. There's an Animal Medicine Oracle, update to an existing deck, with release of August 2023... yeah, can't wait for that??! 🤣... wishing you good health too for 2022. Looking forward to your next video!
Awe thanks so much. Yes, lots of OJ, greens, soups followed by Pringles, salted caramel bars... yeah.. I'll make it :). I woke up today better and did a long run in the park. Thank you for watching.
Hi 👋, this video came up on my feed and I thought I'd click. So glad I did. A European tarot tuber!! Great. I am in the UK and the cost balance of some of these decks hurts. I bought Animal Totem Tarot in early 2020 as I wanted a diverse deck. I had found the diversity I wanted in a deck was found in indie decks and I wasn't willing to splash out on 'indie' cash so early on in my journey. Animals I thought released me from pre-conceptions I have about race, gender, age, body type, disability. Animals are who they are right? Do what they do and are less likely to get caught up in constructed issues that are beyond the scope of living. Well a lot less then humans anyway. I do appreciate the work put into the deck, though the guide delves into cultural and spiritual appropriation of a number Native American spiritual practices. As a tarot, it gives another layer to RWS card meanings and I am grateful. Another RUclipsr Allie Sailor had a series of "what I learnt from..." and she featured this deck... I too have learnt a lot from the animal world with the deck. I have kept the Animal Totem as I would feel weird giving or selling this deck on.... I still use it but with caveats. I have subsequently bought other animal oracle decks, but only kept one. As for tarot I have bought a couple a couple indie decks and I am happy with them.... I am going to watch your Prisma Visions review now...
Oh wonderful you enjoyed the video. I am glad you've enjoyed the Animal Totem. I like Leeza Robertson's guidebooks too. Tarot and oracle collecting is a journey so I appreciate it comes with its ups and downs. I am a Brit but I've been in Brussels nearly two decades so now it all feels a bit murky. I am grateful to have experienced life on the continent. I have a few indie decks but indeed, the costs means I am very mindful. I also want to save money for the long term, like everyone else I guess. Thank you for watching 🌷
I have to admit I don't have any plans to get this deck, but I still really enjoyed the review and it is a very beautiful and well done deck I think :) Happy new year to you by the way :D
My suggestion for an animal indie deck is Oak, Ash and Thorn - but the guidebook isn't the strongest part(very generic). It is GREAT for intuitive reading and it is SO gorgeous. I love their ThistleDown oracle as well, maybe even more than tarot but they feel like twins - need to go together hehe. I loved this review and I will definitely get this.
Hello! First, thank you for your Videos, i always watch them since End of 2021! :) This deck seems very interesting! I wonder if there is duck in it? Don't sure, maybe i missed it.
So glad you did this review! I totally agree, the guide book for this is so amazing, it makes you look at Tarot from a different perspective. Sadly I didn't vibe with some cards and passed it away but now I'm kinda missing it watching your video. The book alone is worth having. Totally agree on the Shadow work front, it has become the new 'Love and Light' of the New agers. I hope you feel better soon! All best! Joey
Awe, thanks so much for watching and your thoughts on the deck. I say, there are decks for reasons and seasons, perhaps your time with the Animal Totem was enough? I don't know... but it has been good to use it and it kind of helped me try something without breaking the bank on an indie deck. I also appreciated the work put in. I think the fever should pass soon but I am so tired...

Oh wow, I’ve never tried it with either of those decks. I have the Mystical Shaman… I’ll give it a go. Thank you for watching 🦉✨🌸
I totally agree with you about this deck, its a gem. Lovely to work with and the book is excellent. Your review was great, thankyou
Oh great, thank you! I need to take it back out again!
