I've seen em twice and was up front against the rail both times! Ribs and body bruised for weeks! You asked about the folks in the back... its one big family! The guy that was playing when you asked how he did that, (solo) was Dimebag Darryl Abbott, call him Dime! He was murdered on stage, in front of his Brother, the drummer in this video Vinnie Paul Abbott! It was hard to understand... 2004, crazy white dude climbed on stage and banged his ass! I did not go to this concert but I have twice! And i promise you, there's black folks in there... many of em! They were pretty young here as well... lead singer grew to overdose on stage! Dime was murdered! Vinnie died of a enlarged heart! And REX is jus a prick... Rex and Phil the lead singer are touring right now as Pantera... the Abbott Brothers are pissed from Heaven!

This Moscow show happened during the time when the old Soviet Union was collapsing and being replaced by the modern Russian government. Under the Soviet Union, Metal music was illegal, but there was a powerful black market for Metal records smuggled into the country. This was the first legal Metal show in the former Soviet Union, and as you can see, millions of fans came out to celebrate.

Don't feel bad man, Pantera is my favorite band, I've been listening to them everyday for 30 years - and even I can't understand everything they're saying. That's not the point though, it's all about how it sounds.
There will never be another band like them. I've seen a lot of bands live and I can tell you that NO ONE put on a show like them, it was absolutely insane. The only other band that even come close to their intensity was Slipknot and that was when they were young, but they still weren't Pantera level.
We love and miss ya Vinnie and Darrell. You're only gone in the physical sense, your legacy is alive and well and still blowing people away .

The lead guitarist was shot and killed on stage in Columbus, Ohio. His brother the drummer died of heart failure. 😢 Eddie Van Halen, had so much respect for Dime Bag, that he put the guitar(black and yellow) he used earlier in his career in the casket with Dime Bag.

So this concert was right after the Soviet Union fell. Like a week or two. These people were celebrating their freedom. Pantera was a pretty small band at the time playing in front of few hundred people around those times and let it all hang out for this crowd. They had no idea there was gonna be a million people there.
And the guitarist was murdered on stage by a psycho in 2004 or so. His brother the drummer died a few years later of a heart attack.
