Packsaddle Campground next to Packer Lake. We went there every summer for a decade of visiting cousins and climbed that trail up to the Buttes Lookout. I've hiked the PCT from Sierra City up to Chester, back before it burned so badly (our son and his crew fought those fires one year when we were there). It's a really beautiful area with lots of nice lakes and mountain views. I hope you enjoyed it!
One thing I love about following thru hikers is that they get excited by tubes of honey, water coming out of a pipe, pit toilets, and trash cans!! Woo hoo. And yes, that man needs a new shirt. It really is disgusting.

The orange flowers are a species of tiger lily found in the Sierra and Cascades.
