Thank you are once again for making these videos - they are invaluable . A lot of these things I would never have figured out myself by reading the manual. I guess they are for many of us a huge selling point for choosing BenQ.
Thanks Art! I had just ordered an SW320 and I can't wait! Your videos are very informative and key to making the purchase. Keep up the videos and good work!
Hello! Congratulations on what you do, maybe there was someone like you on youtube italia! I wanted to ask you a question, when I select a button on the controller, for example button 1 where I have my calibration in. rgb for work, does that specific profile set automatically on the mac? when I go back to using my macbook without external monitor will I have to go to settings to change profile and insert the one calibrated for the mac? or do it automatially? Thanks again
@Riccardo Zorzi, when you change the color mode on the hockey puck, it just change the color mode on the screen, that is it. You would have to go into macOS and switch the profiler under display - color setting afterwards.
ArtIsRight ok understood but is it normal that changing the button on the hockey puck changes absolutely nothing between the profile calibrated in rgb and srgb? it changes only from the moment I select the calibration for example (pro photo) from settings> color?
@Riccardo Zorzi, yes it is normal because it is designed that way. Beside PME during calibration, there's no communication of information about color modes what so ever between the display and the computer.
Hi Art I have the same problem with setting the Controller Key 1 - 3 as some others have her. I calibrate with Spyder X Pro into Calibrate 1 or 2, Running Win11 and PME 1.13.18 the calibration seems to function well, the data is correct at the end. But when I try to set controller key 1,2 or 3 to Calibration 1 or 2, the Calibration1 and 2 are grayed out and cant be chosen. I did a hardware reset of the monitor too I have an SW2700 PT I worked around that by copying the color settings etc in the monitor system after calibration to Custom 1 and then set the hot puck key to Custom 1, but thats not the really good way I think. any suggestions why the Calibration1 or 2 slots doesnt work on the puck? thanks
Custom 1 and calibration 1 is totally different and are not interchangeable. I would check and see if Calibration 1 or 2 grayed out in the color mode menu first before you set the puck, Any further questions just dm me on fb page or insta, it is faster.
Hi Art, is there a way to program the hotkey g1 puck buttons to map different monitor inputs (hdmi/dp/mini dp)? Or are these keys locked to color profiles only? I lost my hot key puck and never used it- am in the process of ordering a new one from BenQ now and just wondering if what i asked above is possible?
@@ArtIsRight i couldn't find it on the g1 hot key puck and monitor. Seems like it's possible on the g2 puck and sw321c monitors but not the older sw320 -- unless im missing something?
Never mind, you would have to use the hotkeys on the displays known as custom keys, there are 6 buttons including the power. the first 3 from the left are custom key and generally the first one is assigned to input.
Thank you Art for your informative videos! I recently got the sw 2700pt monitor and im having some trouble. After calibrating in the calibration 1 slot with decent results(not fantastic) it won't let me select calibration 1 or 2 for the custom controller keys. What am i doing wrong? Both calibration 1 and 2 are greyed out and not selectable
If you are using Palette Master Element and not the Spyder software it should put the calibration in either one of the slots that you choose. That option should not be grayed out. If you are using the Spyder software then yes the option would be grayed out. I need more information to help you further. Please answers these questions for me and we’ll go from here. 1. What computer (Laptop - Mac specify the model, year and size, Desktop, iMac, all in 1 PC, custom build, etc ) 2. What is your Operating System (OS) version are you using? (For Mac please specify the dot release) 3. What version of PME are you using? 4. What cable are you using to connect your BenQ to your computer for the display signal, HDMI, Display Port, etc. 5. If you are using USB-C skip this question, if not, are you using a USB link cable between your laptop and display? 6. If you are using Mac was this a clean install or was the OS upgraded from a previous version at any point (I.e. From Mojave 10.13.x to Catalina 10.14.x)? Or was this Mac restore from a back up, time machine or other wise? 7. For PC, what GPU are you using? If Nvidia are you using their new Studio Driver?
Yeah that's why I am confused with what's going on. I used PME version 1.3.10 and the new 1.3.11. It is a custom built pc running windows 10 pro. GPU is a gtx 1060 updated to newest nvidia drivers. Monitor is connected to the pc via displayport to displayport and the USB cable that came with the monitor
Hello Art, it doesn't work on my SW2700PT "first gen firmware", and when I go to System controller key 2, the default being sRGB, I can only change to Standard, Photo, Low blue Light, Calibration 1 and Calibration 2 ar not highlighted ..... I only have custom 1 and custom 2 lighted.......hmmmmmm. so I did a hard factory reset (unplugging the screen from power cord etc....) and still the same problem. Any clues ? I'm using Mac OS Catalina (cleaned installed 3 days ago with no time machine) with Palette Master V1.3.11 (no errors) connected via DisplayPort on Mac Pro late 2013. The USB cable between laptop and display is connected.
Have you calibrate the display with PME? If not then Calibration 1 and 2 would be grayed out. If have, then the hardware calibration didn't take hold. For your display you have to use PME 1.3.10 any version after that won't calibrate the model that you have.
Thank you so much for this quick answer Art. I'ts very respectful to your subscribers .... Do you have any idea where I can download it because I can't find version 1.3.10 anywhere on the internet. As Benq official only let's you download latest version ?

I would have liked to change video entry with a single button push
@Jeremy MEYER, For this Gen 1 Hockey puck, you can't remap this to input, only color mode. For Gen 2 you can. Video coming Monday.
