Never underestimate wake turbulence. They were lucky that the other two engines managed to hold on because they were nearly blown off.
ya but i did not kwon that the air brakes can level the plane..
Fun fact..
@@jeremiahpeter8481 same lol
@@v1perz3r04 yeah... It was wake turbulence. Watch the episode.
@@jeremiahpeter8481
right lol
Man: "The engines are gone!"
Music: 💃💃🕺🕺🕺
Lol,like el al israel 1862
But luckily, the plane managed to land safely despite missing two left engines
Look like China Airlines 358
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
“The engines are gone”
Flight engineer: I-… don’t know what to say to that
Not what you want to hear 😅
@@tyesoncollins331 lol
Well, so much for job security...
Nice way to leave us hanging! Is there a part 2?
The 135 has no flight engineer
I'm happy all aboard survived and may captain Sweeny get the medal of honor 😊
I believe all crew members got an honor for that
@@anggahartoto I'm happy for them and have a nice day ma'am 😊❤
They gotten the Polaris Award pretty much the Medal of Honor but just for pilots
How come they survive without the engines
@@capenterjojo3373 I watched it and if I’m pretty sure I think they deployed the speed brakes because their decent was rapid
Real answer: a wake turbulence from another KC-135 causes this KC-135 to turn sharply to the left and right, breaking off both left engines.
I'm just happy that it wasn't a passenger flight. I can't imagine the horror being in a plane that's literally rolling and lost two engines in mid-air.
Check El Al Flight 1862
@@raqu7066 Even though El Al was a civilian flight, it was a cargo jet and the majority of deaths were from the ground.
Can't imagine the horror of those family onboard Iran national plane that was shot down by biggest world biggest terrorist (the united states' military) in 1988
air trans whatever?
I'm pretty sure it was a similar thing but not sure if it was wake turbulence
edit: it was this ruclips.net/video/5eg0MgOFZVc/видео.html
@@lionman3378 I'm getting political with this but I'm pretty sure a bunch of other nations have shot down wayy more passenger planes (such as the soviet union)
Mission Disaster is one of my favorite Air Crash Investigation (Air Disaster) episodes ever because we see the crew working together in the event of an unexpected emergency and getting the plane back to the airport safely. The crew working together is a true show of Crew Resource Management. No matter how senior or junior you are: Captain, Senior First Officer, First Officer or Second Officer flying a jetliner or any large airliner or in this case a large military jet plane you work together as a team.
“How was the flight?”
“Oh not bad, just lost a couple engines, no biggie”
ATC : Are you declare emergency?
Pilot : negative, my engine just gone but not emergency
Smart move there by the captain to level off the aircraft using speed brakes during the sharp bank/roll to the sides. Are non Air Force pilots taught that?
yes
All pilots are trained to use speed brakes for different applications!
Never taught to be used in extreme situations like this. Just fir normal application and sone emergency procedures.
These are literally *SOOO* addicting to watch
Yeah
Better than a movie. Just grab some popcorn and turn on smithsonian channel

Aircraft crew : Engines are gone
Atmosphere of the plane now : sad flute 😂😂
Titanic flute
Funnily enough, when I read sad flute, I thought of that funny Titanic flute
They were lucky. Grissom KC-135E aircraft 58-0013 lost two engines, and the aircrew was still able to land with no loss of life. crew encountered jet wash. The unexpected jet wash pitched them so violently from side-to-side, that somewhere in the process, both engines on the left side of the tanker were torn free, leaving the fully loaded tanker with very serious control problems. the entire crew was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for their skill in safely landing the aircraft. They tried to duplicate the feat in the simulator and crashed every time.
Meanwhile a similar incident was a KC-135A, 58-0002, entered a thunderstorm near Killeen, Texas. Two engines separated and one of the engines struck the tail, causing loss of control. The aircraft crashed on a hillside, killing all four crew on board. That was back in 1959
Engines : Okay We have worked a lot...Time to leave...Take care, bye...😅
😂😂
The good thing is, they're survived
“The engines are gone”
“Roger”
But where did it go?
If this happened before takeoff: Captain: Why is the right wing sounding so quite? *Boom Operator leaves seat and comes into cockpit* Boom Operator: There's a problem Pilots: What problem?! Boom Operator: Engine one and two is missing?
lol
Great presence of mind by senior pilot... Glad all alive in the end..
Yeah
Its good to see one of the crew men commenting in current time - so you know they made it...
Lol ya
Amazing skilled pilot!
He remembered the training - let’s give him a medal. :D
To all the comedians who are happy that the camera man survived
Dead Joke
We need daily Iv watched them all over so many time I love em !!!!

Ok
Is it ilumanti ?
Excellent work fellows!!😎🇺🇸
Like a wiseman once said: "If you don't know what hit your plane, just find out".
1:20 did i see the airspeed drops??
Excellent sideways acting by the guy at 1:45 there.
Guys when this plane two engines were gone it didn’t make it stall nor turning to right it made an emergency landing and it landed safely :)
Epic recovery!
I love how this show stopped right in the
I actually watched this a few weeks ago on Air Crash Investigation on National Geographic, the cause? Wake vortex of the plane infront caused the plane to bank more then 110 degrees over in less than 1 second, the stress causes both engines on the left wing to fall off, there was never a fire.
That would cause asymmetry unbalancing the plane. They would need to add rudder to compensate for that not just speedbrakes. There was a lot more maneuvering than that.
Great channel.👍🏻
crazy thank god they wee safe after
reminds me about el al 1862
Yes,2 engines are gone
Watched this last night. Very interesting.

Wow! 😃 a video from Saudi Arabia I'm in Saudi Arabia as well!
Great movie
I swear this is the first time Air crash investigation has used the actual real engine sound rather than the mundane one they normally use
Kindly show till the end....
Am happy that all survive captain sweeny gets medal of honor
Please make longer videos
Just crazy flight
Good pilot
You should cover Alaska airlines flight 261 which crashed into the Atlantic (I think) in 2000 that was flying inverted until it crashed
Boom Operator: "The engines are not on fire"
Captain: Ahhh thank goodness.
Boom Operator:They're not on fire.. They're gone!
Captain: 🤔🤔🤔
😂😂
Captain: *thinks for a moment* Roger that
Good thing engines ejected so no fire could cause more trouble. It just changed the balance of the plane and it banked more.
Where can I watch the full episode ??
Where to get full episodes??
Maybe someone should call Santa to see if he's missing any reindeer.
Thus we are hung into eternal suspense .
Why do I get this recommended 1 week before I go on holiday
Not a good sign babe I hope you are doing fine now
Where can I watch this whole episode ?
So what happened? What caused the engines to fall off? Where's the rest of the story?
Wake turbulence from another passing KC-135 ripped two of the engines and left the other two just barely holding on.
But the plane managed to land safely
@@Powerranger-le4up
Oh god okay
How can I watch full videos on this
Where is the rest of the video? I hate when they show only half.
the engines are gone!?
what the hell!! 0_o
Bro but what the hell happen? Why your videos doesn't have end 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Actually the plane flew into the wake turbulence of another kc 135 and the engines couldn't bare the pressure of these banks so they broke off causing the bank.
Where to find full video
what episode and season is this?
I know this, The planes crew lets another plane pass them but not at a very safe distance, This created turbulence which turned the plane left and right. Since the g-force limits exceeded on the left wing due to which the two engines on the left wing detached.
luckily deploying the speed brakes when they did saved the plane, that and good team work between the crew
The direction of the wind blew the turbulence into them. Everything else was by the book.
Where is the full episode
Sad for short video.
The lack of info in your videos is unreal
Seriously why isnt this show on Amazon
The banks make sense because you could definitely feel a several ton turbine leaving the airplane.
It baffles me that these aircraft that cost 100s of millions of dollars and have every sensor and gauge you can think of, don't have cameras looking at every engine and control surface. Cameras are so light, cheap, and small these days. Why do they rely on having a crew member visually walk back and look out the window instead of being able to view the engines and control surfaces on a screen from the cockpit? Pilots are forced to piece together a puzzle based on sensors and warning lights instead of being able to visually see that, yep, that engine is gone, or that flap is stuck, or whatever.
So true!
ummmm....... where would they mount to have a good view that wouldn't lead to drag and all that jazz? The systems are in place to allow them to figure that out already.
@@BenoitRAG3 If they can put a camera in my phone flush, they could do it on the fuselage and wings. I don't see how it would add any measurable drag, weight, or expense. If they already have the systems to figure it out, why did the crew member in this video have to walk back to look out the window? Sensors and gauges are great, but the Mark 1 Eyeball is still one the most important sensors on any machine. Allowing the pilots to do a visual inspection from the cockpit seems like an asset with no real drawback.
@@jaredhaas4168 I'll just let you ponder on this one little fact. WERE it so easy, why has no airplane manufacturer done it? You don't think there's a correlation there?
@@BenoitRAG3 By that logic anything that hasn't been done can't be done.
Just a bit disconcerting when two of your four engines fall off on a mid routine flight. 🤔😖😫😫
Looks like the engines are hawing fun in the are....
LOL!!
How can i see full video
yu should do that one where the c130 hercules that crashes in the philippines
Air Disasters, which season and episode, please?
The true backround is whale-05 was following another Boeing KC-135, and they whale-05 when to the left, and the other went to the right, switching places mjid-flight. Because of this, they sufered SEVERE turbulence.
Almost like a military version of El Al 1862

Enemy Fire🔥Heat Seeking Missle.
This video and the poster failed to mention that there were 2 aircrafts on this flight and the incident occurred soon after the second aircraft passed it and due to wind condition the wake turbulence of the other aircraft washed over this aircraft causing it to violently bank left.

Lucky they live

The engines are gone and broken out without fire, I think they were broken from the metal side

Part 2
Wake terbulance is so Important to Be careful about. Wake terbulance happens when The wing had low pressure on top and high on below. When the two differences meet a circiling flow of air is created. It's easy to recover. If a Cessna takes off after a Boeing jumbo jet the Cessna will crash. That's why they say " heavy"
in 1:42 did i just heard the Boeing 747 take-off warning
Well where did the engines go????? What's the conclusion Smithsonian??!!!
because the wind is 85KTS so it can easily make the engine gone
