yes, this restaurant together with Kikunoi are treasures of Kyoto. I think Kikunoi is more flamboyant compared to Hyotei which is more "typical" Japanese wabi-sabi feeling. Nanzenji temple is a Zen temple. I personally belong to the Zen sect of Buddhism
