Join me, Jim Baird, my wife Tori, our kids Hudson and Wesley, and our Husky dog North on a thrilling winter camping adventure in Northern Ontario. We snowmobiled across a frozen lake, set up a cozy canvas wall tent with a wood stove, and cooked venison steaks. The next day, we caught a big Splake ice fishing, enjoyed a campfire dinner, and gathered firewood as a family.
With a beautiful sunrise, we cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast on the wood stove. Navigating the thinning ice was a bit nerve-wracking, but we made it safely off the lake. Experience the joy and challenges of winter camping with us in the wild as we bond over delicious meals and outdoor adventures. @@JimBairdAdventurerI have friends with kids of a similar age, and all they do is coddle them as if they will die if they so much as fall over. Both of your parenting skills should be highly commended for letting those boys be boys. Huddy is going to be just like his dad........ a right handful once he's a wee bit bigger, can't wait to see more, it's got me hooked for sure.

great video guys!! Really enjoyed this one. The kids did really well with this type of camping. Always funny how Hudson falls asleep along the way. He's definitely got a lot of energy! That splake looked amazing! Haven't seen one in our area so bright red like that. Beautiful fish! Bet it was delicious.

So much family fun in the middle of winter! Once again... North is the unsung hero. Please acknowledge North in your videos; he is strong and beautiful. Your kids are beautiful too.

Oh boy, Jim, you have all of the toys and are living life large. Enjoy it while it lasts, man. And may it last forever! Huddy and Wesley are the best! These exploits of yours are like a re-incarnation of the Voyageurs and Mountain Men of days of yore. Hard to believe that they are real! Dragging firewood behind a snow machine, oh my God! I did stuff like this when I was young, but you have taken it to another level. You know, Jim, Canada is looked upon as a second-rate country compared to the USA, but you guys really have the best of God-given resources and geography. My God, Canada is magnificent compared to the United States. You guys still have Winter. We didn't get to go ice-fishing at all this year in Pennsylvania. No ice. Huddy is a delight; he is just a regular good ol' boy. Wesley reminds me of Benji, in William Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury", he experiences the world differently from the rest of us, but no less legitimately. God bless him. (That Splake was a gift from God.) P.S., Tory is a woman par excellence. Jim, I think that I am like many of your viewers, I live vicariously through you, in a sense (I am 74 years old). (You guys need to have a third (and a fourth) child. Do it, man. Those future kids will have a wonderful life.)
Who looks on Canada as second rate? Any country that is creating the incredibly dangerous and embarrassing social and political situation that is the U.S. rates really low on my opinion poll!

Agreed. Huddy's remark that he was okay, shows he has been asked the question when he has an accident and the expectation was he'd get up, brush off and proceed (instead of crying). Making Huddy Great Again!
Hey Jim! You should ask Boreal Outdoor Innovations for one of their new Titanium portable wood stoves that are coming out this Spring. Maybe if you do a review on it, they will give you one for free! From what my friend told me, these new Titanium stoves will be very large sizes and all made in Canada.

“Mama, we got firewood!” I was Mama fire builder on our family camping adventures when our kids were little. That was my favorite part ❤ and Huddys little hand holding on to you as you rode the snowmobile back with the wood. Brought back all those happy memories. (We even had a few blowouts 😂) Now they are teens and young adults and they build the fires! Thanks for another beautiful adventure Baird family!
Yep... I think we are guaranteed to have at least one blowout on a camping trip when they are very young. 😆

This is the best yet and I watch everything Baird for a long time. Everyone in the family is a role model. Tori and Jim are parents. We get to be along with them doing so and learning with Wesley and Hudson. I love each of them for what they are and do. Tori is mother earth beauty. She is everyman's ideal of a woman who is your partner. Jim knows and shows he feels the same. Jim as talented as he has shown, proves the point that it is better to be lucky than good. They are doing something right. This could be a television series if what was in it was truly approved by the Bairds. Love 'em!

It’s 10:15 on a Friday night in Vancouver, and here I am watching the vid for a second time, because so many commenters said how cute it was when Huddy said he was “OK” after having fallen off the chair. Somehow I missed it the first time, so I’ve got to watch it again for the second time. You guys kinda rock 😊

It’s by Firefly and I believe it’s a “GoTo Seat”. They’re pricey but it’s been great for Wesley, we’ve had it for a few years now.

That shows so much about your children as we teach them not to destroy beautiful things.
