Nexus 5x | BOOTLOOP FIX

In this video I show you how I fixed a bootloop issue on a Nexus 5x. The principles in this video can be applied to other Android phones and tablets that have a bootloop issue.
The temperatures used in the video are in Celcius.
***WARNING - IF the reflow gets your phone started, take the opportunity to back up all your files because you don't know how long the memory chip is going to last. Sometimes the chip may last one day, one week, one month, or one year.
***I didn't cover the potential software fixes in this video because I had already tried them. 1. press and hold power for 30 seconds with the phone unplugged (to a power source). plug in the phone and press the power button again for 30 seconds. 2. Try to hard reset the phone through the Android Bootloader Menu. turn off phone, press and hold power + vol down, use volume keys to find the "recovery" option press power button to select recovery, in the next screen press and hold power then press vol up. IF you cannot enter recovery, your storage chip has failed.
To clean up flux after I'm done, first I wipe off the flux with a tissue paper and then I use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol.
Phones made after 2016 have changed from EMMC storage chips to UFS storage chips. From the outside the chip looks the same and it still uses BGA 153.

The Nexus 5x is really old so you're likely going to run into other issues even after fixing this issue. This one lasted a couple of days then it completely died. The principles in this video apply to any Android phone. I recently bought a boot looped pixel 1 for $20 on eBay. I reflowed the chip and i could tell it did something because it vibrated when powering up but the battery icon showed and it wouldn't turn on. I replaced the battery and boom it's working. I'll make the video for that one and upload it when I have time.
