Corsair is super interesting as you can lock the bridge door so if you want to pick people up you can do so without worrying about being killed mid flight
A Drake ship with built-in anti-piracy countermeasures, how very apropos!
Can't all doors be broken into by doing damage or using the cutting tool on them?

The MSR is a runner meaning you can get away from most ambushes using speed.
Absolutely, the MSR is a great blockade runner! They can’t take your cargo if they can’t catch you 🙌
I think it's funny how people always talk about ships in real world money. I've been playing for almost 2 years now and still have yet to buy anything on the pledge store other than my starter ship (Avenger Titan).
It’s a convenient way to compare against other ships, but you’re doing it right! Honestly earning ships in game is a great way to pickup all of these 😁👍
I agree Josh... been playing for awhile now and when the game wipes I just save up for a Prospector to fund my other ships
I've had most of these ships and the Connie is by far the best cargo ship and the only viable option if you want to pve also. Hell, it's better at fighting then most dedicated fighters.
I really like the Constellation lineup as well! They’re great for not only cargo running but really are fantastic as multi-role ships!
Railen!!!!! It’ll easily go above 300 once it’s in game. Current loaners for the Gatac Railen is the talon, Khartu Al, and Taurus.
The Railen really is an awesome ship, and offers fantastic loaners in the interim! But I suspect the release price will be between $265 and $275, given other releases and where I think they'll place it in the lineup!

@@ViciDeum Now a limited-time-offer is available. Compared to the Taurus its only around $40 more. From all "Medium Transports" it has the highest CargoCap.
I have the Taurus and wish to upgrade.
Commodities have such a thin profit margin and the new flight model will put freighters at such a massive disadvantage to piracy, that trading is not a viable prospect for an in-game career at the moment.
We cannot afford to risk capital and we cannot afford to pay for an escort, given the tight margins ... it doesn't matter what you fly, because cargo is a dead end loop.
Maybe it will get better, but I expect it will get worse.
I agree that cargo isn’t in a good place atm and they need to either increase payouts or add in cargo missions where you don’t have to put up your own capital each time!
@@ViciDeum I seem to recall that they are talking about freight running missions, where they provide the cargo and we just deliver it.
Zero risk to the players, except that if we lose the cargo, we don't get the payout.
Given how little profit we get from TRADING, then I don't expect cargo running will pay much.

I think I'm one of the rare players that has a ccu chain to a Railen, just waiting to play with it. One of the only alien ships without a tax.
Congrats on the CCU pickup, it'll definitely be getting a price bump closer to release! It's just such a cool ship I really look forward to seeing it in the verse!
What about the MAX?
The Max is an awesome ship, but I believe the Taurus hedges it out on this list, given its overall utility and cargo capacity!
I bought the Starfarer Gemeni as my money maker to go into Pyro.

Are they available only at particular times? I noticed that neither Starfarer is in the list of "ship upgrades".

Hahaha, me? Nah, I'm just an enterprising merc with a nack for the finer things. Now if a pirate happens to stroll by laden with an illicit hold, there's no honor amongst thieves as they say; and no problem pirating the pirates!

Great video! I love using my MSR for running cargo while having the option to run drugs without having to worry about getting scanned and I used to love my Connie for running cargo because of the fire power for dealing with enemies but my elevator would hit the ground and flip my ship fairly often and it got annoying so haven't used it in a bit.
Yea that Connie elevator was dangerous for several years, especially putting in any kind of vehicle or other object! And the MSR is nice, congrats on the pickup! It will be amazing once smuggling and data running are fully fleshed out!
I haven't experienced that much at all in my taurus, yeart ago when i had a andromeda would be such a coin flip

@@timsgta I’ve followed the game since 2014, the Constellations have already been through more than one rework! It just goes to show how far these ships have come. But the next rework will be coming at some point. Like all things SC, it’s good to be patient!
I playing with the Hull A. It feels like a tradional trucker. I call it Space Trucker. I have the Hull C too. But didnt test it yet.
They really did a great job on these; proper weight and a really commercial feel to them!
Might want to give the hull b a honorable mention
Absolutely, the Hull B would have made #6 if this list included that, it's such a fantastic ship with a ton of cargo carrying!
best cargo ship the endeavor, its near capital with an insane cargo space at 500 scu even without using any of its modules but it does come in at $350
I absolutely agree, and it’s why it placed so highly in my sub-$400 cargo ship category!
Do we know if exiting atmosphere will get any faster? It's painfully slow in a prospector and I cannot imagine doing cargo runs like this.
I don’t believe anything is planned for this atm, but with all things in SC, it’s subject to changes as they continue to update the systems!
It will likely get harder if they go ahead with making cargo weight in atmosphere different to zero g

SC definitely has that effect on wallets haha! Although these can all be earned in-game!

Very true! I didn't include CCU possibilities as it gets particularly complicated, but any CCU chains will typically offer some fantastic bargains for the ships!
C2?
The C2 is a great cargo ship, but more than the $300 cutoff for this list!

The Caterpillar is an awesome cargo hauler! And it’ll get even better once it’s modules and detachable cockpit are added!
Hercules?
The Hercules line is a fantastic series of ships, but sadly above this price-point!
Id put the RAFT above the Corsair
The raft is an awesome ship and an excellent cargo hauler in its own right! For me the Corsair hedged it out with its other armaments and deterrents, but the Raft (and Hull B) make excellent alternatives!

A playable game with over 700 employees is a pretty poor excuse for a scam
@@ViciDeum "A playable game" that is FULL of bugs, many STILL from Day #1 !!!
Do the right thing and get everyone in 'the community' together and DEMAND, as one loud voice, that Roberts releases SQ42...the REAL SC 'public front end'...next year at the latest, NO excuses.
Of course, as WE ALL know, that ain't gonna happen because SC is a scam. And, of course, when SQ42 is finally released, there's gonna be one mother of a sh#tstorm when it gets slated in reviews.

@@ChrisM541 It sounds like you need to take a step back from this project. You’re pledging for Chris Robert’s dream, not your own personal development and timeline.
The scope has changed since it’s inception, and that was decided by us backers. Plus, the game is wildly ambitious and things get delayed. I’m happy with the state of development and continuing to embrace Chris’ dream for this project. If you’re not happy, stop pledging, it’s as simple as that!

This list is capped at $300, so none of those ships would qualify, despite being excellent cargo haulers
