What's your favorite feature on the DJM-S5?
Bus powered USB C
TYPE-CCCCCCCCCCCCC
Perfect timing on this. I’m shopping for my first DJ mixer and this drops?!? Pioneer swooping in for the kill here 🤣🤣🤣
I'm not a fan of those built-in scratch modes, but you really killed the Crossfader Hot Cue feature. Well done - that was great
Pioneer numero 1 in the market 👍👍🏼👍
I want this mixer so badly, but does it have slope control on the upfaders? I like to cut using the upfaders and a sharp cut is necessary.
i love pioneer is best
CAN THIS DO 4 DECKS INSIDE SERATO LIKE THE S11?
How do I set the channel fader curve
Where is the split cues option on this mixer??
If it had smooth echo I would’ve insta purchased it.
Very good review, this helps me and my research. It looks like a decent mixer, but it doesn’t seem like it’s worth $800. Especially if it’s on the level of entry / beginner. I think more along the lines of $600. Also, does this mixer have split cue for the headphones? If it doesn’t have split cue it’s not even worth $600
It has split cue.
Why does the usb cord fit into the mixer but not into my MacBook ?
What cord do I need? I have a MacBook 14
You will need a USB type C to type C cable.
@@PioneerDJUSA Thank you
When using 1200's and Serato, can you change the tempo range from 8% to 16% like you can on the CDJ's? If not, can you do it on the S7?
In DVS, the tempo range is limited to the speed range of the physical turntable itself. If a turntable is only +/- 8%, you will not be able to go beyond in DVS. A turntable like a PLX-1000 has 3 variable tempo ranges. +/- 8, 16, and 50%.
In internal mode on the DJ software, you can go up to +/- 50%. If you wish to use this on the mixer, you can control the tempo value using the transport pad mode.
Are you able to adjust the # of beats on the loops? Ex :1/3, 1/2, 1, 2 ect.
If you go into the auto-loop pad mode, each pad is different auto loop beat duration length.
@@PioneerDJUSA great. Thank you.
Should I get the S7 or S5 I can’t decide now
Depends what you’re needs are. Tell us more about your experience as a DJ or turntablist!
Will it work with rekordbox as well Pj?
The DJM-S5 is a MIDI device and can be easily MIDI mapped in rekordbox. However it is not natively supported and a subscription or compatible hardware unlock device would be required.
No love for Rekordbox.

Don’t know why there is such a boner for the power options - decks have power , laptops bound to have power - just a waste feature
Battery powered portable turntables that turntablists often use for scratch practice would be an example of a deck you don’t need to plug in.
can you practice with the head phones so I won't wake up the kids
You can do that with any Pioneer DJ mixer, controller, or all-in-one system.
@@PioneerDJUSA thank you sir love the video keep it up that's my next purchase
