1:21:50 DO NOT put your chest on the obsidian platform. Every time you go to the end, the platform regenerates, destroying all blocks around it, as shown at 1:28:40.
Also a guy named MLGLOL80 puts the ender chest in the obsidian platform and he made the rule wrong in his "every rules of minecraft" that is made a year ago
Yes, it pained me to see that, everything a couple blocks above the obsidian platform gets destroyed every time you enter the End, and if you mine away the platform, it will respawn as it was before each time you enter, too.
24:47 potion brewers are useful, they trade 32 rotten meat for an emerald. It's about the only thing you can do with all the rotten meat, besides feed it to tamed dogs
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! From a 43 year old woman whose disabled and just wants to still go on fun journeys. Your videos are such a great help for someone like me who is starting out properly for the first time. So sorry you didn’t record everything, but amazing just the same!!

This one tip made the difference to me enjoying Minecraft, and the only reason I got netherite. I used collective knowledge from even past world failures, and didn't give up, and I'm having much more fun now.
Man, this is incredible. I can’t tell you how many times I have loaded up a world thinking “this is the one” only to stop playing after a week cause I don’t know what to do. Edit: after 10 long years of Minecraft, I finally beat the Ender Dragon solo with no cheats (18/7/22). I cannot thank you enough, Toycat. If I could subscribe 10 times, I would.
I just found this huge cave near a villager base on this seed from some yt video, killed the ender dragon after never doing it before in all my time playing and now I'm working on villager trading for good stuff, already got heaps of mending books, just got to figure out how to use this zombie to turn villagers to zombies and back, got a guy selling name tags cheap too which is great, was pretty bored up till I started doing that though
@@Crvstylvngs i got a god spawn and have been playing in the same world since sept last year. i know, its really not long lol. but for a minecraft world it’s not too bad
Oh goooooood there were some really painful moments in this video. We really need to appreciate how much stress this man goes through just to educate us
52:27 I always assumed that the reason why sneaking eliminated damage from magma blocks was because it represented your character being careful to not step on the lava cracks.
I’m a 62 yr old who started playing 7 yrs ago with my grandson, I ended up in a wheelchair and couldn’t do the things I used to with him, so I was the only one who’d sit and play minecraft with him. Now im addicted, I’m not brilliant and panic a bit but love your vids and they help a lot
That is so adorable. Thank you so much for playing with him, I would actually kill for my parents to have played anything with me. Luckily I had my brother but I still get ridiculously jealous when people play video games with their parents/ older family members lol.
Had to double check, but if mining drops 0-6 gold nuggets and smelting gives you a constant 9, then silk touch would be 3x better than a non-futune pickaxe on average
These are the averages I got after mining 5,000 nether gold ore and ending up with 4,378 gold ingots. silktouch: *1* ingots per block fortune 3: *0.8756* ingots per block Although silktouch is _technically_ better, I usually just use fortune 3 because, in most cases, the extra smelting time outways the very slight benefit of silktouch in my opinion.
@@mikeoxlong311 I have also beaten the dragon on a phone multiple times, and even the wither (some cheating was involved there), but it is possible. Harder, perhaps, but never impossible.
In caves only place torches on your left then when you're heading out they're on your right and you know you're going the right way. At junctions place 2 torches in a row in the direction you came from. Also when exploring nether fortress etc or in caves you can place a block foreign to the area at entrance to ways you already explored.
I do something similar. I always place the torch facing back the way I came. I use the double or triple torch placement to indicate a POI and/or something that needs to be mined further. Works pretty good so far.
I use signs in my permanent mines, just make a little arrow and maybe if leading to a specific area a name to the direction you came from/need. It’s better than torches for me
I’ve been in kind of a slump when it comes to minecraft, I find myself getting bored and not knowing what to do after creating a new world, but this video will hopefully help me get back into playing minecraft regularly :)
My tips for keeping a world for as long as possible: Start with optimising and preparing your world for future builds. Build a good storage system, build a village, beat the bosses, make infrastructure between important places, etc. Try to have fun while doing those things and try to drag out the length of your world as much as possible. You can do that by not being lazy when you build your "essential" builds and go through the effort of getting nicer blocks and giving the builds a unique or good looking design. You can also drag out the lenght of your world by just going on random mining/resources gathering trips even if you don't need the resources at the moment. After playing for long enough, you'll eventually get more ideas for things that you want to do in your world that go past the basic needs. Also, write all your ideas down. It helps you remember possible future projects, makes them feel more realistically doable, and it helps you track of what you have left to do. Remember to take breaks if you're feeling bored as well. It helps you feel excited about playing Minecraft later. I once took a many months long break from my world and after the break I was excited and ready to get back into it. Lastly, if you die and lose all your items, don't give up. You can get back to where you were even if it's frustrating. It happened to me a few times and after a month or so I had gotten back to the stage I was at before losing everything. Atter keeping my world for 3 years, I've personally gained enough project ideas that it seems nearly impossible for me to do them all.
@@TheFlyfly justto add to that, - stock up on backup items in case you die (i.e. full set of tools and armour). It's worth the grind! - If you find ~ the grind ~ boring, stick on a podcast or a video or music in the background, especially if it's something that doesnt require your attention, and take breaks
Make sure to give yourself a goal. Minecraft is one of those "make of it what you will" games, so it's easy to just not know what to do. In essence, the only thing you NEED to do is not die, which is easily accomplishable by making a well-lit enclosed base with a food source inside it like a carrot farm. With that, you can easily last years without putting yourself in danger once. But, I'm sure most of us would go crazy to be in that environment for too long. Having something to plan towards really helps keep me motivated to keep playing even when I feel like it's good enough. Early on that might just be getting iron tools/armor, or finding a spot I want to build my endgame base, or just getting enough to make a bed. Whatever it is, being able to check something off your list gives you that rush that makes you believe you can accomplish more difficult tasks and that is what will keep you motivated to play. And, if you don't have goals, a fallback is do every achievement/advancement in the game. Some are really simple (make a crafting table) and some are needlessly complex (get every status effect at the same time). Personally, I've started making the crazy farms you see the technical players like Ilmango, Ray Works, and Gnembon make. As a normal Minecraft player, you don't need these farms and can easily exist in a world without them. As ibxtoycat has shown in this video, you can easily beat the ender dragon with literally nothing. But, sometimes it's really nice to have an automatic cooked chicken farm. Or a AFK tree farm. Or a large storage system. Maybe farms don't interest you but instead you want to make beautiful bases. A floating castle above the mountains. A secret bunker base that looks normal from above the ground. An old mansion. A futuristic pyramid. Whatever it is doesn't matter, so long as it's something you want to make. My friend really likes decorating our bases so I make the farms to help us gather the materials he'll need for the decorating. He needs 10 thousand quartz blocks for a roman coliseum; I make a villager trading hall for all our tools, armor, enchanted books, and quartz needs. He need a ton of dark prismarine for the floor of that coliseum; I make a guardian farm and a wither rose farm. Alternatively, check out different takes on the game like Skyblock for instance. Skyblock forces you to make your world, so it sorta gives you goals to accomplish. The only downside is you have to understand how minecraft works, like how to spawn hostile mobs, how to spawn passive mobs, how to make bees appear, how to make the wandering trader appear. Most of these things a normal minecraft player never thinks about because it just happens naturally, but in skyblock you can control all of it so it's up to you to take advantage of it.
Ive done this when i died flying with riptide. You can also change this up to 30 minutes i believe, even after the event happened you can change it and then record the previous 30min
@@kevinperson2630 ok i was very wrong it was 10 minutes i only used it once when i caught a guy duping on a realm and there was a lot of excess footage so i assumed that it was 30 min....... You can do 1 hour with external storage
Honestly I burst out laughing every time Toycat died unexpectedly. 😂 Its just so true to the game, and so relatable. That shock, regret and just getting back to it's one of the things I love about Minecraft. Also, believe it or not, I did learn some tips here and I've been playing MC for 10 years at least.

When I started I was terrified of everything, I started in peaceful mode, then easy mode but letting myself keep my inventory when dying, then to easy with no cheating, medium, and then hard which I play now and don’t think I could ever have fun playing it in an easier way now that I’m used to it. I highly recommend people who are scared to get started to start off slowly instead of jumping in and getting too discouraged from dying over and over!
Me too!! I had only ever play in creative mode on friends consoles a few times, but when my boyfriend showed me Lukethenotable's hardcore series it made me realize how much cool stuff there was to in survival. I was like "okay, if he can do that i can atleast play on normal difficulty", even if it took me a while to stop being so scared tho😅 Once you get over the spooky cave noises and dying it was so fun lol.
This is perfect man, I just started playing MC (42yo gamer) bc my daughter (6y now, 5y when she started) got into it. She is all about creative mode and all I wanted to do was to "beat the game, at least once". The only stuff I found was old AF, speed running, or only covered the 'changes in xx update'. Thanks again, I don't usually sub outside of the games I make content for but today you've earned mine! Keep up the good work!!
If you are new to the game, you can turn on peaceful for the entire run and switch to easy once you reach the blaze spawner and turn it back after you get the rods. That way you can beat the dragon (you can fight it on peaceful) easily without having to worry about hostile mobs, hunger, you can barter with the Piglins without ever angering them, etc.
Huh, I can’t believe I never thought about that. I turn it to peaceful all the time when I’m building because I don’t wanna be interrupted, but I’ve never thought about using it for beating the game itself. Definitely gonna do that on my current world, I totally suck at fighting and it’s not what I play the game for.
This is definitely an option, but it has one flaw: is it honorable? There’s definitely many ways to look at this style of gameplay so it really comes down to personal preference. But there’s always going to be someone who finds this style of peaceful swapping to not be honorable
I'm 49 & just started playing Minecraft. I felt your anguish over the lost 90 minutes, but appreciate the work you've done here. Thank you for all the tips!
No, I'm punching a tree, just in case, then digging a hole in a wall. If I am dreaming and in Minecraft I'll know that much sooner. If I punch a sheep and all I get is a dead sheep and a farmer with a shotgun chasing me I'll know it was actually wales and not a rocky mountain biome.
I've unfortunately had that experience and let me tell you it was one of, if not THE WORST night of my life... I woke up in the middle of the bush passed out drunk in a prickle patch with absolutely no idea where I was or which direction to go, how or why I'd gotten there and no phone! I chose a direction and started walking. I eventually came across a side road which lead to a main road that I recognized. That helped but I had no idea where I had walked FROM as I had been at a friends house for the first time and didn't remember the address or how to get there from where I was. It got even worse from there but I'll spare you those details. It was many years ago and I don't remember how I actually got back to the house but I did and lived to tell the tale... It was an incredibly painful experience in MANY ways. Don't try it at home kids, lol...
@@CakePrincessCelestia id rather get stone tools before killing any mobs, get a stone axe (java) or a stone sword (bedrock) and then kill sheep. you should have plenty of time to do that and you should be able to get enough wool for a bed pretty quickly before night. personally i make a bed on like night 3 or 4 or sometimes never at all unless to set my spawn.
I assume this was one of the lost pro tips when you weren't recording, but DID YOU KNOW you can sleep next to cats and they may gift you phantom membranes! It's rare but a stress free alternative to fighting demons at night.... I was dying laughing man seeing you miss your arrows over and over thinking you missed out an opportunity to mention this fact lol. But I love this mostly raw walkthrough beginning to end for Minecraft. Keep up the good work!
This is such a perfect video, it takes so long and feels so patronising to have to tell your friend "no, this is what you should do instead" every minute, especially when dealing with mobs and stuff
We need more bosses/quests and dimensions. Players can already build whatever they want but what about the players who prefer challenges ( for example, trying to defeat all the bosses in terraria )
@@madduxmozerella5595 hell no, the game is too bland and has been for years. They need to add more new features like bosses if they want to keep survival players. Survival is supposed to be a challenge, there is no challenge nowadays because all we do is defeat the dragon and wither and build weird ass houses for the rest of the year.
I really, REALLY needed this. I always start a world, walk around ten blocks and then quit until I get a good seed, and when I do get a good seed I end up wasting my stuff and I just hate how I play so much.
I used to do this sorta thing with video games, and real life looking for the perfect conditions to get things done Believe me, imperfection is a lot more original and a lot less stressful. Be or create the best you can and think of perfection as the best version of yourself. In life, metaphore and minecraft.
saturation actually stacks up. if you eat 3 golden carrots you have max saturation and if you have 2 rotten flesh and then a golden carrot you wouldn't
Haven't ever been to the end yet, but didn't know that you could just skip the boss fight entirely and bridge over to the end islands to get Elytra right away! Also didn't think it made a difference putting half slabs on top or bottom, good to know that bottom slabs are the actual mob deterent. Neat!
Thumbs up because of how real this video was. Thanks for showing all us noobs that even pros have rough days. Thanks for all of the content - your integrity sets you apart from all the rest 🙏🏽
So Toycat, suspicious stew's effect isn't random, it's just hidden. It is random if it's sold by a villager, because you don't know which one you're buying, but any one suspcious stew will always be the same effect, and if you want to go threw the somewhat-convoluted process of making it yourself, you can make a suspicious stew that is the exact effect you want. Some dedicated players do this for the one that gives Saturation.
I think what he meant by random is that you have no control over what the effect is of suspicious stew, and you can't tell until you eat it, so it technically is random to the player because it could be all kinds of effects and you wouldn't know so it might as well be random. Ox-eyed daisies make regen soup! You can also get them from brown mooshrooms after feeding them certain flowers and milking them.
@@Flareontoast Those aren't separate things, you have to feed a brown mooshroom oxeye daisies and then milk them, which gives you a suspicious stew that gives regen But yeah thats what I was saying, it's random to you if you yourself did not make it, since you can't visually see the effect until you eat the stew
That "how did I not record", I recorded some very key long bit of footage (which I'd then cut and edit), doing a teardown of a thing, and realise that the whole recording had no sound. And I couldn't really put the device together again. I've not published the footage, but I've not deleted it either. It's been sat in my drafts folder since 2015. Lost footage and AV problems are definitely more soul destroying than falling into lava.
"Pro tip: placing blocks makes lava go away. It doesn't necessarily make the most sense from a logistical point of view, but it is very very handy from a 'getting gold ore without being murdered' point of view, which i like!" -Ibxtoycat 2022
I can see you put a lot of effort into this. A lot of deaths and a lot of stress. I’m at the point where you forgot to press record and I just have to say I admire the effort
This is a personal tip (for bedrock atleast): Want Armour or a higher chance of getting drops that are harder to get? Land crits on a mob, specifically the first hit will guarantee better odds then landing a crit your 2nd hit.
That Mob light level change to 1.18 *only* applies to artificial light. The _natural_ light level for mobs is still 7 (dusk, dawn, cave entrances etc).
I love your breakdown near the end when you realize you didn't record and are just silent. I think it's the same feeling as when you die with a bunch of stuff and can't recover it lol
Thanks dude. I’m just getting into Minecraft at 27 and surprised at how overwhelming everything is. Not surface level but just the sheer amount of things you can do with the same items is mind blowing. Really surprised I haven’t played it but not at the same time. WoW ate my life from 2008 to 2014. Then I recently finished maxing in OSRS. I love building/crafting/survival games. 7k hours in DayZ, Scum, 7days, unturned. Just never played the OG. Maybe a couple of times when it was free a long time ago.
Just bought the game a few days ago and am hooked. My brother mentioned he beat the game and I had no idea you could beat Minecraft. 😂 I’m learning so much on here so thank you!!!
ibxtoycat and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day in the nether joke aside awesome video. had the time of my life watching this. me and my friend are now doing a survival playthrough together and ive never beat the dragon before and now im actually excited to do that lol
The nether is always a bad time. I “slow run” Minecraft to relax and unwind (I know, weird way to do that, but I do use easy mode), and if I can even find a way into the nether before running 5000 blocks, I then will often spawn in a terrible biome (basalt delta or soul sand valley), in a cave near the ceiling, or worst of all, more or less surrounded by/about to fall into lava. My strategy is fortress-hunting on strider-back, so I need a warped fungus. Even once I get a saddle (usually by fishing) and a warped fungus on a stick, there’s the ghasts, the omnipresent lava, the magma cubes, and the general need for constant vigilance to protect against being quickly dispatched, especially (as Toycat illustrates here) in the nether fortress, by blazes, wither skeletons, regular skeletons, mobs specific to the biome like hoglins or endermen, or even mobs of zombie pigmen because you accidentally hit one. Then there’s the matter of returning to the nether portal with your precious blaze rods. Have definitely felt the pain Toycat experienced here, dying in/near lava on the way back to the nether portal and losing the blaze rods! 😭
I have a tip. Minecraft purists will probably condemn it, but is completely viable for almost anything other than hardcore or multiplayer. You can always switch to peaceful, if you have serious enough doubts about being able to recover your stuff, or being able to make a trek somewhere through hostile territory. It’s not the most honorable method, but there is pretty much no punishment for it, and the ability to change difficulty to peaceful on the fly is built directly into the game’s options. So if you really need some immedieate breathing room, the option is present.
1. Look for structures (Village If possible) 2. Turn FOV to 30 to get an "optifine zoom" 3.5. Never said as tip by him but, get wood, DUH! 3. Get Wooden pickaxe and... Boat??? 4. If in ice biome, use boat to travel FAST 5. Find Access to nether (Lava pit/Ruined portal) or CAVE 6. Get food 7. Smelt Things using left over Wooden Pick 8. Mobs can only attack 1 per seccond 9. Turn up brightness 10. Use wooden planks (or juke boxes) if less then 8 items 11. Get to ~-40 then try to get diamonds 12. Mobs always follow you so lead them away 13. Always eat as much garbage food as you can (for saturation) 14. If you don't find diamonds, (min 6 Iron) leave the cave 15. Get more iron on your way up 16. If a skeleton in killing range, kill. If not, place blocks or run! 17. Don't need charcoal 18. Always craft Chestplate first (after bucket) 19. Get a shield! 19.5 If you have, Bucket, Sword, Armour. Go to Neather! And dye your bed (red 20. No need for house 21. If freezing, punch snow. Or scoop it up! 22. Avoid mountains, find flattest way out to find lava / ruined portal (or cave if necessary) 23. Get water as a "ladder" 24. Get flint for flint & steel, and *B U R N T H E A N I M A L S !* 25. switch perspective when riding boat/horse --------------------------------
you kind of misunderstood 13 there xD he said if you have loads of garbage food (uncooked potatoes, carrots etc.) and some cooked meat, eat the garbage food first until you reach the level where one cooked meat would get you to max hunger, like 3 empty hunger slots. then you get the saturation from the meat without using up all your meat, but get the same effect
Oh god! I’d use this but Ik a bit too much about this game already. But thank you Toycat! Ik this will help many others and really?! So many people have not beaten the game! That’s pretty insane.
If you want diamonds You can basically just dig down to y=-57 , and dig in a straight line for about a half hour, and if you have Fortune 3 on any kind of pickaxe you can get at least a stack in about half hour
i also have beaten the ender dragon and wither 2 times each, but i think if you have time, i would still suggest watching the video if you want to, because no matter how skilled you are, with so many tips, we're probably going to learn a bit more about minecraft. that's always good, and I'm going to enjoy it
Thank you thank you thank you. Until a year ago I was playing Minecraft on Xbox 360. Then I got the Java edition for my computer. Today was the first day that I ever went into the nether and into the end I also beat the dragon only dying once. Thanks to you and your tutorial. Always love your videos. They're fun!
it's not JUST that ppl can't figure it out to get to the dragon and kill it, some just don't go for it. every time I play survival or creative I just end up getting too into improving my base or build and just never make the dragon a priority.
I will say, building in survival with an Elytra is so much nicer than without it. If you are like me and constantly forget blocks, it's so nice to just swoop down, pick up more, and fly back up. That and shulkers make building so nice cause you can have like 30 inventories in your inventory.
I enjoyed watching you do this and felt for you when you died and didnt record. You looked so sad buddy but you reminded me of both myself and my son when we play this game. Thanks for the upload and keeping these things in the video. Definitely makes viewers who play minecraft feel better
Wow, kind of a train wreck of a video, but I gotta give you props for sticking with it! Weirdly entertaining watching you punch the dragon to death at the end. Might very well be the first youtube video I've ever felt moved to hit the "like" button for. You earned it.
jumping back into a new world after so many years away from the game and immediately within view of the starting position I saw a largely intact ruined portal with a treasure box of obsidian and a flint and steel as well, i believe
If you see a librarian in a village look for its workstation because most of the time there are bookshelves around it you can use for an enchantment table
Those gold feather falling boots are good, because falling in the nether and not hurting too much makes getting around easier. The silk touch pick is super useful too.
You can also copy the world and set it to creative (the copy of course!) and do /locate fortress to avoid having a bunch of stuff open on your computer.
1:22:00 actually In my first ever ender dragon battle I got really stacked (protection four netherite, gold apples, sharpness, looting and feather falling) I defeated the ender dragon first try but i died because I fell into the void while searching for the elytra.
It is, indeed, very Toycat, right down to the face-rub leading into face-plant. This is EXACTLY what would happen if I tried to do this, or something close to it anyway, including forgetting to record! How?!? 😫 Why?!? 😩 What’s WRONG with me?!? 😭 Okay, let’s try that again! 😤
24:45 Interestingly, Toycat found one of the rarest items in the game here, not in the game, but in your inventory. Double Tallgrass. It's only found in normal savanna village chests. You can't shear or silk touch it
on my world I always build my house at Y -58 bc you automatically find diamonds while building for entertainment. And use slime blocks and twisting vine to surface, plus u avoid all mobs
pro tip play at your own pace 😭 nobody is forcing you to beat the dragon in a certain amount of time preparing for whatever challenge you’re about to take on is key
Achievements mean nothing to me. I play with add-ons because it's just more fun for me. Just thought I'd throw in my tidbit. I'm sure there's a bunch of people just like me who don't play vanilla.
Luckily for you, we live in a society where we enjoy the mild suffering of the people we love. Thank you for the beautiful content and meticulous guidance on how to destroy mythical beasts
I build mini-bases everywhere I go. When I build a portal, I don't go in until I am stacked up with blocks to build around it, 2 chests, crafting table, food, extra flint & steel, tools, etc. I do the same when I go exploring. I'm also constantly writing down coordinates.
oh man this was a great video but so tragic; i feel for you. i mean what a disaster but you handled it like a champ and still gave us a great video and even better it was real you didnt cover it up and try to seem perfect.
My favorite way to cook food, hopper going into the side of a chest, with a furnace on top, hopper on top of that. Fill the top hopper with all your food sources, put some fuel in the furnace, and all your food gets transfered to the bottom chest. That way you don't have to watch when to remove your items, and can mix the items your putting into the furnace without having to do it manually
@@VoidRepif you want/ need the levels, all you need to do is temporarily break and replace the furnace. Or put a lever on the furnace to switch it on/off, which stops the hoppers from moving items, and take out something manually. All XP is stored in the furnace. You can smelt 100 things, break it, or take it out manually, and you will get all the XP you would normally get without an automatic setup. I prefer the lever on the furnace to lock it, so you know when it is or isn't running, and you can put a large amount of stuff into the loading hopper so you don't accidently smelt 1 thing and waste fuel.
I'll start by saying that this was a very informative video and very entertaining. All the tips and fun facts are really what will help a lot of players. I'm actually gonna rewatch a second time after this comment. I think you went in the wrong direction of this video considering you started by saying that only 1 in 6 players have defeated the Ender Dragon and beat the game. You assumed that the other 5 of 6 people are focused on or need to focus on getting to the end dimension and beating the dragon. I'd imagine the other 2 of 6 have the end dimension in their spectrum of focus, 1 of 6 has the ultimate goal getting there but are in no rush (me), and 2 of 6 have no intention of going to the end dimension and are content in the overworld. I'm not an expert and I'm sure there are polls somewhere to find the exact facts but tbh, a lot of the more casual players probably won't even bother taking a poll. The other important thing to remember is that you technically don't "beat the game" by beating the Ender Dragon. Traveling to the Nether and End Dimension are really just added layers of exploration to the game with new materials and items that mostly make overworld exploration easier or add to building but most things aren't a requirement for working in the overworked (i.e. blaze rods are great for smelting and required for potions but arent a requirement). Lastly, as you proved, the Nether is a dangerous place even for someone with years of experience like yourself. There is a high probability of death and is an all around stressful environment. After your 3rd death even you were demotivated to continue and wanted to stop playing. You shouldn't need to put 101 facts in a title because it's probably trending. You always include useful tips in your videos and give even more that you don't realize. You could have name this video " The Nether, End Dimension and Ender Dragon: Casual and Fun, No Speedrun". Maybe even that type of title in mind would have helped you be more comfortable and stress-free in making the video instead of feeling like you need to beat the dragon. 💆♂️💆♂️💆♂️
@@jasperm2162 as I said in my comment, killing the dragon doesn't "beat the game". Beating the game is usually a form of finalization where the game/world ends and you start over. Killing the dragon in Minecraft doesn't end the game but is really just the ultimate goal for accomplishment we have currently.
You accused him of assuming that "the other 5 or 6 are focused on or need to focus on .... beating the dragon," but I don't recall him saying that at all. In fact, everything after your first paragraph is overly critical, unnecessary and kinda rubbed me the wrong way. What's your point? That he shouldn't have made this video? That he should heed your advice in all future videos? That he should take this one down and re-do it? Personally, I feel like you should make your own video if you have so many issues with this one. "you went in the wrong direction" "you assumed" "the important thing for you to remember" "you shouldn't need" "you could have named" "maybe that would have helped you" I think he's fine, actually, and could probably do without your critiques, because it's too late now, isn't it?
@@stevnated opinions are like assholes... everyone has one. This is my opinion and its fine you don't agree. ToyCat started the video with the 1 of 6 fact in a "Tips to beat" video so it's obviously meant to help the other 5 of 6. "I feel" like he made the video to help players like me who haven't beat the dragon to understand more about the Nether and End but after his 3rd death and wanting to end the video, he kinda showed why we should be fearful of the Nethers. On the other hand, he showed us that if you die in the Nethers it happens to the best of us. I personally didn't enjoy ToyCat stressing and getting discouraged. I like to hear him laugh and that only happened twice in this video. My point is that he could have taken a more relaxed approach to the video and had more fun instead of rushing to make a trending video and leaving me saying "and that's why i don't go to the Nethers" 🤷♂️
i literally tend to bring redstone components or 3 stacks of wood to the end along with the ender chest, then i build a flying machine if i can and go afk for a while until i find the end city, then instead of messing around by trying to open the exit portal, i just put everything into my enderchest and take those items from an another one at my spawnpoint, so basically after getting the elytra, i only have to spend like 30 seconds to return with like no effort
Not recording is the equivalent of forgetting to clock in. I've done that a few times and I feel stupid every time. Lol. Love the tips and the vids you make man. Say a prayer for the thumbs of a mobile player.
I actually like it how you can only get blaze powder by only nether fortresses because if there were other ways It would be just effortless to beat the game
"That was so unnecessarily stressful" Keyword "unnecessarily" Seriously if you dont light up your way out you may die a lot. Torches, torches, torches. If you dont have coal, smelt a couple logs to make starter torches, then mine any coal you see.

Yes, it pained me to see that, everything a couple blocks above the obsidian platform gets destroyed every time you enter the End, and if you mine away the platform, it will respawn as it was before each time you enter, too.

pro tip 102 if you had grabbed the silk touch pick you couldve smelted the nether gold into full ingots instead of the bits.
Had to double check, but if mining drops 0-6 gold nuggets and smelting gives you a constant 9, then silk touch would be 3x better than a non-futune pickaxe on average
@@namef what do u think is better? Silk touch or fortune?
These are the averages I got after mining 5,000 nether gold ore and ending up with 4,378 gold ingots.
silktouch: *1* ingots per block
fortune 3: *0.8756* ingots per block
Although silktouch is _technically_ better, I usually just use fortune 3 because, in most cases, the extra smelting time outways the very slight benefit of silktouch in my opinion.

In caves only place torches on your left then when you're heading out they're on your right and you know you're going the right way. At junctions place 2 torches in a row in the direction you came from. Also when exploring nether fortress etc or in caves you can place a block foreign to the area at entrance to ways you already explored.
those are good tips
I now do this ESPECIALLY with our current cave system. it is EASY to get lost along the way.

My tips for keeping a world for as long as possible:
Start with optimising and preparing your world for future builds.
@@TheFlyfly justto add to that,
- stock up on backup items in case you die (i.e. full set of tools and armour). It's worth the grind!
- If you find ~ the grind ~ boring, stick on a podcast or a video or music in the background, especially if it's something that doesnt require your attention, and take breaks
@@v0id_d3m0n one more tip for your tip
have good internet to play a video in the background after you load minecraft (because the login takes 2 years)
Make sure to give yourself a goal.
Pro tip 103 (on xbox): as soon as you die, record the last 15 seconds of gameplay so you can refer back to your coordinates whenever you need

This is perfect man, I just started playing MC (42yo gamer) bc my daughter (6y now, 5y when she started) got into it.

I appreciate that Toycat did the whole thing in survival without cheating
@@Flareontoast Those aren't separate things, you have to feed a brown mooshroom oxeye daisies and then milk them, which gives you a suspicious stew that gives regen
But yeah thats what I was saying, it's random to you if you yourself did not make it, since you can't visually see the effect until you eat the stew
It doesn't necessarily make the most sense from a logistical point of view, but it is very very handy from a 'getting gold ore without being murdered' point of view, which i like!"

This is a personal tip (for bedrock atleast):
Want Armour or a higher chance of getting drops that are harder to get? Land crits on a mob, specifically the first hit will guarantee better odds then landing a crit your 2nd hit.
Does this really work?? I've never heard of sthg like this
That Mob light level change to 1.18 *only* applies to artificial light. The _natural_ light level for mobs is still 7 (dusk, dawn, cave entrances etc).

😂 I’m learning so much on here so thank you!!!
ibxtoycat and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day in the nether
joke aside awesome video. had the time of my life watching this. me and my friend are now doing a survival playthrough together and ive never beat the dragon before and now im actually excited to do that lol
1. Look for structures (Village If possible)
2. Turn FOV to 30 to get an "optifine zoom"
3.5. Never said as tip by him but, get wood, DUH!
3. Get Wooden pickaxe and... Boat???
4. If in ice biome, use boat to travel FAST
5. Find Access to nether (Lava pit/Ruined portal) or CAVE
6. Get food
7. Smelt Things using left over Wooden Pick
8. Mobs can only attack 1 per seccond
9. Turn up brightness
10. Use wooden planks (or juke boxes) if less then 8 items
11. Get to ~-40 then try to get diamonds
12. Mobs always follow you so lead them away
13. Always eat as much garbage food as you can (for saturation)
14. If you don't find diamonds, (min 6 Iron) leave the cave
15. Get more iron on your way up
16. If a skeleton in killing range, kill. If not, place blocks or run!
17. Don't need charcoal
18. Always craft Chestplate first (after bucket)
19. Get a shield!
19.5 If you have, Bucket, Sword, Armour. Go to Neather!
And dye your bed (red
20. No need for house
21. If freezing, punch snow. Or scoop it up!
22. Avoid mountains, find flattest way out to find lava / ruined portal (or cave if necessary)
23. Get water as a "ladder"
24. Get flint for flint & steel, and *B U R N T H E A N I M A L S !*
25. switch perspective when riding boat/horse
--------------------------------
the optifine mod reduces fov to 15.... if you are on bedrock use a spyglass
you kind of misunderstood 13 there xD he said if you have loads of garbage food (uncooked potatoes, carrots etc.) and some cooked meat, eat the garbage food first until you reach the level where one cooked meat would get you to max hunger, like 3 empty hunger slots. then you get the saturation from the meat without using up all your meat, but get the same effect
Oh god! I’d use this but Ik a bit too much about this game already. But thank you Toycat! Ik this will help many others and really?! So many people have not beaten the game! That’s pretty insane.
Mr bigbrain
If you want diamonds You can basically just dig down to y=-57 , and dig in a straight line for about a half hour, and if you have Fortune 3 on any kind of pickaxe you can get at least a stack in about half hour
@@jameswesten2018 you are right :D
i also have beaten the ender dragon and wither 2 times each, but i think if you have time, i would still suggest watching the video if you want to, because no matter how skilled you are, with so many tips, we're probably going to learn a bit more about minecraft. that's always good, and I'm going to enjoy it
it's worth watching, i've beaten the dragon more times than i can count and have been playing for about 9 years but i still learned some things!
1:16:29 "This is my job, I turn on recordings for a living!" HA HA HA HA HA HA
(hugs Mr Cat. Many hugs)
I will throw in some Pat pats in the back/shoulder areas. Poor Cat. 🥺
Spoiler
jumping back into a new world after so many years away from the game and immediately within view of the starting position I saw a largely intact ruined portal with a treasure box of obsidian and a flint and steel as well, i believe
"I think torches are very very very useful" ~the man who filled a desert with them (7:50)
If you see a librarian in a village look for its workstation because most of the time there are bookshelves around it you can use for an enchantment table
One very important tip you forgot, and probably should've learned when you died in lava and wanted to give up:
NEVER DIG STRAIGHT DOWN!
Those gold feather falling boots are good, because falling in the nether and not hurting too much makes getting around easier. The silk touch pick is super useful too.
Fast travel on the ice is just one of many bugs, that they worked tirelessly to find, so could actually make it into a feature.
Hey! Just BTW, you can get blaze powder in bastion chests!
tbf the nether fortress is a safer option imo
@@peterbrownjr7517 true but still valid
1:21:22 love how that zombie villager just walks across for a moment and disappears
You can also copy the world and set it to creative (the copy of course!) and do /locate fortress to avoid having a bunch of stuff open on your computer.
Ehh it's just a web tab, nothing too fancy
Seeing Toycat rock the pancake cape makes me glad I have it
1:22:00 actually In my first ever ender dragon battle I got really stacked (protection four netherite, gold apples, sharpness, looting and feather falling) I defeated the ender dragon first try but i died because I fell into the void while searching for the elytra.
Ripppp
First thing to make above all - A BED. No worries about mobs first night. So I fist sheep and wood when I start a world.
this has got to be the most Toycat video ever 😂
It is, indeed, very Toycat, right down to the face-rub leading into face-plant. This is EXACTLY what would happen if I tried to do this, or something close to it anyway, including forgetting to record! How?!? 😫 Why?!? 😩 What’s WRONG with me?!? 😭 Okay, let’s try that again! 😤
Lol
It's toycatin time
Toycatswep

Interestingly, Toycat found one of the rarest items in the game here, not in the game, but in your inventory. Double Tallgrass. It's only found in normal savanna village chests. You can't shear or silk touch it
You know, the first thing that I always do is make a house, and that way I’ll have someplace to go back to once I’m done getting items and stuff.
on my world I always build my house at Y -58 bc you automatically find diamonds while building for entertainment. And use slime blocks and twisting vine to surface, plus u avoid all mobs
What in the world? ITS YOU LMAO
pro tip play at your own pace 😭 nobody is forcing you to beat the dragon in a certain amount of time preparing for whatever challenge you’re about to take on is key
In that village chest you found the super ultra rare tall grass!
Ikr
The sheer dedication to pushing through this video after everything that could go wrong did is astounding. Great tips!
I recently subscribe to this guy and he makes amazing videos.
His livestreams are even better! He is planning one for the 1.19 update on June 9, they usually start around 3-5 PM EST! 😊
Toycat is YES~ :D
he rlly do
What a pleasure to listen to you speaking slower! I enjoyed this video sooo much that I’m going to subscribe 👍🏻
Achievements mean nothing to me. I play with add-ons because it's just more fun for me. Just thought I'd throw in my tidbit. I'm sure there's a bunch of people just like me who don't play vanilla.
Yeah I do the same. I look for cool add-Ons see what they do and have a play around with them
Luckily for you, we live in a society where we enjoy the mild suffering of the people we love. Thank you for the beautiful content and meticulous guidance on how to destroy mythical beasts
This is really helpful!! This one the best fact video I’ve seen!
That way you don't have to watch when to remove your items, and can mix the items your putting into the furnace without having to do it manually
yeah but that way you wont get the levels from taking the food out, which is something to keep in mind
I mean... its called tips on how to beat minecraft.. to beat minecraft you have to kill the ender dragon 🤷♀️
"you went in the wrong direction" "you assumed" "the important thing for you to remember" "you shouldn't need" "you could have named" "maybe that would have helped you"
I think he's fine, actually, and could probably do without your critiques, because it's too late now, isn't it?
That’s actually really smart, I might borrow your idea the next time I visit the end
Only toy-cat would do this
Use chorus fruit to teleport to the ground when being getting hit by shulker bullets. Also use a shield to block them. Milk is also an option.
This is a video I have always wanted
Not recording is the equivalent of forgetting to clock in. I've done that a few times and I feel stupid every time. Lol. Love the tips and the vids you make man. Say a prayer for the thumbs of a mobile player.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. It’s refreshing to see I’m not the only one to die unnecessarily. Great video!
I actually like it how you can only get blaze powder by only nether fortresses because if there were other ways It would be just effortless to beat the game
I was going to comment something I learned but I'm only on picking up snow with a bucket so there's probably more. Great video.
"That was so unnecessarily stressful"
Keyword "unnecessarily"
Seriously if you dont light up your way out you may die a lot. Torches, torches, torches. If you dont have coal, smelt a couple logs to make starter torches, then mine any coal you see.
i’m 22 minutes in and the run is so scuffed, y’all bedrock players are wild
If you plan on tunneling in the nether, bring a stack of gates to place behind you as you go
add-on for #39 if you get a silk touch pickaxe from ruined portal and mine nether gold ore you get the ore which smelts into gold ingot instead of nuggets btw
"A wooden pickaxe. This is the first thing you should craft in a minecraft world." .... well...AFTER you crafted a Crafting Table, I would reckon ;)
20:14 ‘no one can tell you what you can and cannot do’ he should have put up the thing from the minecraft trailer
10:10 Little tip for the coordinate: if the game bug and won't activate it, just open the chat and write "/gamerule showcoordinates true"
i feel like u totally predicted Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe your obsession with bowels and buckets is quite uncanny.
I have been playing Minecraft for 7 years I wanted to see how toycat would approach this but the iron thing is sooo true I mean to the point I mostly still use iron tools even tho i have diamonds just because of how much easier it is to get.
Also the red bed is the only bed I don't use any of the others.
Oooo! A tip for the Bastions:
Block yourself in! 🤪 you’ll probably have a stack of netherack on you, before you loot a chest or mine a gold block *seal yourself in* you don’t need many blocks, and you’ll use them for the other chests after anyway. The piglins sometimes don’t even notice 😮 and if you do hear them get mad, just wait a minute for the agro to disappear 😸 happy looting! 🥳
I want to share my tip too for everyone plays minecraft survival:
Step1: find a village for many reason(cuz they are the real deal)
Step2: set up a base near there, for convenient of villager trasportaion
Step3: go mining(mainly iron, prioritize your own survive
Step4:after gotten some iron gear, set up some beginner farms like villager breeder or food farm like chicken farm,i suggest get a lava farm, they are simple to build, and lava can melt up to 100 items
Step5: more complex farm like iron farm, villager trading hall,...,try do things like cure zombified villager so they can give you discount, aim for diamond gear}emerald} anything else
Step6: after get full diamond gear,go to nether and get netherite
Step7:kill endermen and get a safe amount of 32 pearls, get some blaze rod and craft eye of ender, then find a stronghold
Dragon Fighting Items Recommendation:Bed(explode go boom),water bucket(fast climb, fall clutch, and possibly control the cycle of the dragon, Pumpkin Head(avoid endermen, not necessarily),weapon like axes or swords(in case all the bed are not enough, bring weapon as safe choice) and the most important of them all,the DETERMINATION AND YOUR LOVE TO THIS DEAR GAME OF MINECRAFT
Final Step:Rematch or Triump?
You should have rolling constant recording, and a timer to remind you to check it is on properly before it gets overwritten.
