Super clear footage and an amazing place to holiday. Mrs Metalman always wants to hire a car when we go abroad and I always say fine, as long as you drive! I hate driving in the UK so on the wrong side of the road with all those madmen driving, I don't think so. I love eating and drinking outdoors and what a perfect place to choose, it looked amazing, as did the scoff. I remember that view when you climbed that mountain and thinking any words would not do it justice and just thought the same again! Cheers Alan
thank you so much Alan. yes its cheap as chips over there. pity as we would love longer in Wales, Scotland and the lovely Lakes. 20 quid each way each to Milan. the car was actually 23 quid and then everything is cheaper. i really love driving abroad but because it bumps the price almost double jill does all the driving. we save 50%. i drive us to and from manchester or stanstead airport. bnb? 60 quid a night. meals like we say 20 to 50 quid with champers or alcohol. everything else super cheap. we love the lakes, wales and scotland, but we would need to remortgage to holiday in any of these places. our focus is now on European and canadian holidays. so much cheaper! thank you so much for watching. xx

Absolutely gorgeous. It brought back memories of out Italian tour with our MG in 2017. We didn't stay here though but the lake we looked down on from our holiday hotel was also amazing, Largo di Garda. Stunning area. Italy is certainly breathtakingly beautiful. There is no way I would get Peter on the bucket ride. He hated the Chairlift at Cataract Games Gorge. Great views. The islands would be great to explore. The views from the metal cross are fantastic. Absolutely Joseph, can’t go wrong with lunch in Italy, not only is it reasonably priced it comes with the very best flavours and passion. I don’t think i could get myself on that bucket again, my italian being fairly lacking I wasn’t aware that you had to board it whilst running or that the back door opens of you lean on it! possibly they could be big warning signs on entry to the place in every language? 🧐 no wonder there were so many paramedics on stand by. i bet they don’t have many quiet days! have an awesome weekend! amore per l'Australia ♥️ 🇦🇺

we actually only paid €23 a day with the top insurance. picked it up at one Milan airport and dropped it off at the other. wanted best flight times. got there early on arrival, left late on departure. £20 flights each way. the bucket lift is worth a go especially of your prepared for it, it was a whirlwind for us. eating by the lakeside in Italy? something we could sit still all day for and have done on occasion. thanks so much for wishes 🍻

Its a lovely spot Christine and we were surprised just how much of the Lake is accessible to walk and promenade along, a stark contrast to Como where only small sections can still be walked at the shoreline. still having nightmares about the bucket, think being fore warned would have definitely helped. knowing that you have to run to get on it and that the back door doesn’t lock and will open if you lean on it would have helped with the terror factor! have an awesome weekend ♥️🇨🇦
wow, the ascent to Mount Limidario seems exhausting, but because of those views... Until we saw your video, we hadn't thought about getting to know northern Italy, and maybe traveling to the south... but we will have to plan our trip very well. Your videos help us a lot.

I think we may have actually been to this lake but it was SO hot that day we didn't really do much except drive around. After that we went to the mountains to get away from the heat. absolutely Leon, still having nightmares about that darn bucket, i think most people would be ok with it. i think if you have any medical requirements they stop the bucket prior to getting on and off too. it didn’t help we had to run to jump into it and then weren’t told that the back door will just open if you lean on it!

Not sure what your day jobs are but you could defo make excellent tour guides. 😎 I'm a big fan of hiring a car, gives you so much independence (If you go away a couple of times an annual policy to cover xs is well worth it.. about £45). Made me gasp when "ride in a bucket" came up as a headline... thought you were referring to Pepe 😢... how rude !! My sympathies to Pepe haha Can't decide if I think bucket ride is totally exciting or totally scary 🤣I guess you decide the moment you have to jump on hahaha I think there should be a restaurant at the top of every mountain ... only joking 🤣😂🤣 that would make Paul feel faint 🤣🤗🤗 However those lakeside restaurants and trips to the islands look superb. Yep, rent a car. When we first visited Lake Como, holy crap, 25 years ago, it was our first time in Italy and we were really clueless. We'd booked a hotel in Riva on the top of Lake Garda but the train dropped us off at Desenzano at the bottom. We got to Desenzano and thought what the hell do we do now? It was winter so the buses and ferries had limited operation. We thought stay in Desenzano or rent a car? So we rented a car. Best decision ever. Riva was lovely. Off season so we had the whole Grand Hotel Riva to ourselves and had one of the best hot chocolates ever. First time driving in Italy too, so that was a great experience driving around the lake. Bucket list! 😂 Freakin' heck those views are magnificent. Bella Italia! Excellent stuff Nick and Jill!
Lots of great tips and something I will certainly come back to if we love our trip to Garda in a couple of months as much as i think we will. The car hire price was really reasonable. Perfect Pepe! I'm not sure about the bucket ride, I'm pretty sure in your previous video that contained it, it was a bit stressy lol. But then the views are spectacular!! The boat tour sounds much more relaxing and again the price looks really good.
My usual 'go to' Italian lake is Lake Como but I think you're showing me what I'm missing by not expanding my horizons and visiting some of the other lakes. Lago Maggiore looks lovely and the fact its got islands that you can visit makes it even more attractive. There's something special about an island in the middle of a lake.

It was really worth it but now we have been we probably won’t return as there is Garda we would like to try too. Nice! We are literally about to do a very similar video about Santorini. Nice video! I think we may have actually been to this lake but it was SO hot that day we didn't really do much except drive around. After that we went to the mountains to get away from the heat. Great work and good idea to do a top 5 video!

absolutely Leon, still having nightmares about that darn bucket, i think most people would be ok with it. i think if you have any medical requirements they stop the bucket prior to getting on and off too. it didn’t help we had to run to jump into it and then weren’t told that the back door will just open if you lean on it!

Wow you guys what a brilliant idea to do a video in this style. Not sure what your day jobs are but you could defo make excellent tour guides. 😎 I'm a big fan of hiring a car, gives you so much independence (If you go away a couple of times an annual policy to cover xs is well worth it.. about £45). Made me gasp when "ride in a bucket" came up as a headline... thought you were referring to Pepe 😢... how rude !! My sympathies to Pepe haha Can't decide if I think bucket ride is totally exciting or totally scary 🤣I guess you decide the moment you have to jump on hahaha I think there should be a restaurant at the top of every mountain ... only joking 🤣😂🤣 that would make Paul feel faint 🤣🤗🤗 However those lakeside restaurants and trips to the islands look superb. I have friends going to this area next month so I'll get them to take a look at this 👍well done 🤗🤗

Well to be totally honest with you both I tuned in expecting your version of Steve & Karens walk in the Peak District 😡 Not to worry, guess that one will come out in 2024 (I await with excitement). However, this film was as always, a very good coverage of Lago Maggiore. A beautiful place and I drivelled over your pizza choice. As an OAP I can only look on with envy as you enjoy the rich tapestries of modern day life. Great film and I salute you both 🤩
ah thank you so much Mike. love our meetup with the absolutely incredibly Karen and Steven, it was a huge honour for us as it would be to meet or engage further with you. we fully appreciate all your backgrounds before arriving on this very dodgy format that glues us together. in all honesty i can say that the lovely meetup with tramp in the hills will debut on this channel in exactly two weeks time. i like to stew over our videos. we film so much and watching it back i cant stand the sight of myself. it takes me a good six days to whittle it down and find a good edit that maybe somebody might like. ive seen some of the dailies, not many,from our meetup with the lovely Steven and Karen, they look great. Stevens comedic personality and Karens friendly conquer it all personality is exactly as you would imagine it having seen their videos. an awe inspiring couple that work exceptionally hard and make magic out of every single second they get together. the video is coming but i need another week to do these legends justice before we can start the edit. have an amazing weekend, possibly your ears have stopped burning now? lot of our love in our collab for billygoatfilms xx

Yep, rent a car. When we first visited Lake Como, holy crap, 25 years ago, it was our first time in Italy and we were really clueless. We'd booked a hotel in Riva on the top of Lake Garda but the train dropped us off at Desenzano at the bottom. We got to Desenzano and thought what the hell do we do now? It was winter so the buses and ferries had limited operation. We thought stay in Desenzano or rent a car? So we rented a car. Best decision ever. Riva was lovely. Off season so we had the whole Grand Hotel Riva to ourselves and had one of the best hot chocolates ever. First time driving in Italy too, so that was a great experience driving around the lake.

Lots of great tips and something I will certainly come back to if we love our trip to Garda in a couple of months as much as i think we will. The car hire price was really reasonable. Perfect Pepe! I'm not sure about the bucket ride, I'm pretty sure in your previous video that contained it, it was a bit stressy lol. But then the views are spectacular!! The boat tour sounds much more relaxing and again the price looks really good.

My usual 'go to' Italian lake is Lake Como but I think you're showing me what I'm missing by not expanding my horizons and visiting some of the other lakes. Lago Maggiore looks lovely and the fact its got islands that you can visit makes it even more attractive. There's something special about an island in the middle of a lake.

It was really worth it but now we have been we probably won’t return as there is Garda we would like to try too. thank you Phil, we have come to the stark realisation that we live a 7/8 hour roundtrip from anywhere that anyone is interested in us seeing us hike. from about this point forward we are rebranding as a “travel” tube. we will still be hiking, but less filming. instead we will be covering the wider ranging things that involve travel and days out. the youtube bosses have been on the blower setting the way..
