  • It's Gibson SG time, and this 1970 model refinished in Pelham Blue is a shop favorite! A great playing instrument with everything you could want on this type of old Gibson - Pat# pickups, Bigsby, incredible looks and a huge sound. We are pairing this one up with an original Gibson GA-40 amp and our wonderful friend Aaron Hiebert for the demo!
For more information on the guitar or amp, please give us a call or check out:

Been playing 35 years and never gave Gibson amps a second look. For some silly reason I always had the impression they didn't sound very good. If they all sound like the one in this video, I've been dead wrong. Incredible looking sg also. Still like a t.v. yellow custom better, but that 3rd pickup is horrible for my pick attack. Playing was stellar. Possibly the best demo I've seen personally. If I could only afford either one right now...

I love how Aaron sounds on Gibson guitars. There is really something in how they highlight the nuances and dynamics of his playing.

@@aaronhiebert4745 Thanks a lot for this answer. I think that you really know how to make those old Gibson shift from mellowness to fury wich is what I find awesome about them. I love when you play a burst. Keep it up.

Best guitar demo video I’ve ever seen! Incredible playing that really showcased the direct tone of the SG guitar. Been fortunate enough to have visited Emerald City Guitars many times over the past decade or so. Jay and Daniel Boone are stand up guys for sure. Just wish that it wasn’t so very distant from my native London Town, UK….!!

Nothing sounds like a vintage SG with PAFs, this guitar is a highly sought after guitar and hearing Aaron Hiebert shred on it is truly a treat to behold. Awesome demo! Thanks Aaron for showing what an SG and it's tonal capacity sounds like.

Once you hold and play a Gibson SG, it's immediately obvious why it's one of the best (or the actual best for me) guitar ever sold... So darn light, yet produces a monstrous tone! It's the kind of guitar you can't put down once you start playing!

But…that’s an early-mid 60s headstock isn’t it? 1970 SGs had large pick guards and smaller headstocks with a lower placed crown inlay. The only thing 70’s about this guitar seems to be how the neck is set deeper in the body. It’s right up against the neck pickup (like the 1971/72 redesign.) Maybe this is actually a 64/65 with reset neck? Idk. I am confusion on this one! 😂

Not a 1964 or a 65 but this sounds good for a year that wasn't the best for gibson SG.
