@@laner.845 It says his leg was in a cast after the accident. Usually only breaks get casted (dislocations and ligament tears usually get splints). They most likely didn't even notice the tendon/ligament damage until after the cast was off.
He’s luckier than you can imagine. I’ve heard of cats falling over 10 stories and walk away either with minor injuries or without even so much as a scratch.
Why did my eyes fill with tears when the vet said he’d take doc if the police didn’t want him? This is the way ALL vets should be. I love my vet! He knows how much I love my dogs and goes above & beyond to help me & be there when I panic about them. Bless the vets who have compassion and don’t do it for the money. I’ve been blessed to find good vets for my dogs. 💜 💜💕❤️🙏🌈💜💕❤️🙏🌈
OMG, the poor and beautiful injured dog. Hero dogs that I love so much and have owned and loved in the USA. I pray he will be helped and then let him retire from that job.
Yes I want to know how Doc got on..they usually do an update at the end so this is very unusual..maybe its a very recent episode and he is still in rehab..
There is no better surgeon to repair Doc's ankle then Dr Andrew!!!! He's the absolute BEST surgeon there is!! I would absolutely trust whatever Dr Andrew said with my own loving dog if I still had her. God guides his surgical hands in that operating room ......👍💕 Australia is lucky to have him, wish he was in the USA
I was a Police officer, the relationship between a police officer and their animals is immense. These dogs are unbelievably close. They are brave dogs who are great police officers in their own way.
Oh, poor dog 😯. He is so beautiful, delightful young dog. The bond between the dog and the owner must be seen 💞🐕🦺. I really wish Doc would fully rehabilitate. Dr. Andrew is wonderful vet .
I love your guys videos I've watched everyone you have put out I love animals.. It helps you know what to watch for and when to get help as pet parents
I hope doc got better and went back yo doing the job he loved. He was such a beautiful, kind natured dog he was a lot better than some police dog I have heard about in Essex police in the uk.
The lengths these police dogs go to in order to do what is asked from them is remarkable. I wonder what made him decide to jump that far down as there’s no way the assailant jumped out the window. Makes me wonder if he got ahold of the the suspect and in the fight the guy threw him out the window. It’s really so heroic but absolutely devastating, but they do it because they love and trust their handlers.
WHAT A GOOD LOOKING LOYAL DOG. SEEING HOW THIS DOG LOVES HIS HUMAN FREIND + PARTNER NOT TO MENTION HIS I HOPE VERY MUCH HE WILL B ABLE TO RETURN TO HIS DUTIES AS A POLICE DOG.
What a spectacular dog! I am respectfully curious; so much training goes into these amazing police dogs, yet time and again I have seen video footage of the dogs on leash, and they have seem to have no inkling of how to walk calmly beside their handler, wether it be on loose leash or a proper 'heel' . Perhaps such training is not considered essential with all the other vital skills they must learn? Anyway, I hope this wonderful dog recovers well!
So did Doc return to full police duties then? There must have been a follow up appointment with Dr Andrew? I'd just like to know if Doc turned out okay.
Did the dog eventually recover well enough to re-enter service? I was kind of expecting to see a tendon splice, but it looks like the doggy was ready to power through whatever came his way, even a surgically fused joint.
Healed after 6 months rehab and back to work. First job out finds a woman who had been lost in the bush (woods) for 3 days within 30 mins. Google is your friend😂
I have to ask in the US most vets office have handicap accessible ramps for people and their pets but all the shows I have watched the people and pets have to go up and down steps inside and outside of the offices. Is this common for vets offices
We'll probably have to wait until next summer since this was only uploaded 7 hours ago so I assume this was a recent event and they said 12 weeks to know more.
Are you kidding?? 2014!!!? I thought this was a recent episode!! WOW alot could have happened in 9 years huh. I thought Bondi Vets had said they were gonna do all new, recent episodes??? Guess not, thanks for the heads up Lydia......👍
@@HobbyOrganist It's just that I see a lot of German Shepards here in Germany and none looks like Doc. The fur is a good bit longer and the back legs have a different form - the race standard states sth like they should give the impression of a falling backline, but now they have a falling backline which brings all kinds of orthopedic problems. German breeders destroyed the race within 40 years. Now they have to breed in the Old German Shepard race (much longer fur) to restore health.
This dogs career is over. I'd be devastated to know he goes back on the front lines. Please Andrew, don't give this dog permission to go back to work. 🙏🙏💙💜💙
I hope he was retired and got to be a pet. He could do the same thing again in the line of duty, and mess up the other leg the same way or worse. Or mess up the one that was fixed. (Jan Griffiths).
Sorry but why no cat scan ? You can't see soft tissues in an xray the injury was his guess by the mobility of a paw. I never seen a vet make a decision about soft tissues without doing a proper scan, seems highly unprofesional.
The fact that he fell 3 stories and only broke one leg is surprising, that dog is incredibly lucky.
No joke! That's insane and he's so lucky. I just wish there were updates!! This police boy is so handsome.🥺
Wasn't even a break, just the ligaments that got stretched out too far to properly heal back. It's astounding.

He probably doesn’t want to retire. The dogs my colleagues worked with loved their jobs. They were unhappy being inactive. They are great dogs.
I wish they would do more updates so you know what happens, how well they healed.
Yes I want to know how Doc got on..they usually do an update at the end so this is very unusual..maybe its a very recent episode and he is still in rehab..

I found a Facebook post where Doc healed after six months of healing and he went on to even find a lost lady.

Dr. Andrew worked his magic,so I'm hoping he will be able to return to being a working Police Dog. I love this show. 🙂❤️

God definitely gave this poor police dog an extra day of surviveing this Is one incredible vet God gave that dog extreme luck!
I love Dr Andrew. He cares so much.
I'm sure this happy dog will be back doing what he loves with his best mate soon thanks to our skilled Bondi surgeon
Imagine the pain of being the handler. Needing approval for what seems like the right thing to do.
I so hope you do a follow up on Doc. Such a beautiful dog. I saw somewhere where you can adopt retired police dogs. So precious 💞

I hope Doc is all healed, and is in no pain and is back in service as a K9 cop.
Wow. I'm amazed he survived that fall!
Poor doc hope all goes well 🧡
Dr Andrew is such an amazing surgeon.
That’s always full up my heart ♥️ when I see so great doctor with he’s team they is no words can imagine how I feel love

Great job fixing the wiggly, crazy pup! However, I'm truly surprised by the lack of leash training a police dog has had.
I think he's had the rtaining but he's 'not on the job' so he's off duty and feels it's ok to not be lead perfect
I think it's because he's hurt. No matter how well trained an animal is, they will act differently when they're hurt.
Take it eas Doc the 🐶And heal well🙏

For a police dog he isn't very well behaved
Poor dog shouldn't risk his life for any kkkop or human. He's searching for drugs running up the stairs to his doc appointment shm!!
You're a waste of space lol
He is not a very well behaved dog.
Police dogs don't have to be perfectly behaved depending on what job they are doing.
He's still a very young German Shepherd and aren't fully grown till 3. When inwork mode he would behave very different
