It`s a good video, but I would have liked it better if you`d explained the symptoms based on what actually happens (on pathology) . Instead you insisted on etiology. But that`s just my point of view.

This is what I have now. The Doctors are planning on replacement surgery just don't know when yet. I had Rheumatic Fever when I was a baby that is what caused my Mitral Valve problems. It has now gone into Stenosis of 62% the last I knew.

Hi I was Born with mitral valve stenosis I had to open heart surgery do open heart surgery I'm currently 13 life after surgery is okay you constantly have to be checking your blood INR you cannot do any contact Sports and for the first five months of the surgery you can't hold anything over 1 lb

The heart does not have normal flora so I am a little confused about molecular mimicry explanation. You state the antibodies formed attack Strep pyogenes and the normal antigens in the heart valve, but the heart should not have any "normal antigens."

Danielle Benedict - the video was just highlighting how autoimmune disorders occur - when the body's defence mechanism accidentally mis identifies its own cells as foreign bodies and starts attacking our own body.
all cells have receptors for one reason or another.

All cells have cell surface receptor proteins and lipids that act as antigens even the cardiac cells

antigens are not flora, they are proteins on the cell. every cell has an antigen. e.g. RBC
