@@izumisakurai4875 it can't really increase fps with more vram allcoation. maybe with ram overclocking, but that's a bit risky because the laptop gets hotter, and unstable performance.
It does work on RYZEN 5 2500u tho, i have tried it few times, i could not force to get 4 gb vram on HP laptop althought i have 16 GB ram, and just one more thing everybody, don't choose the disable option, i accidentally set the option to "disable", and now my laptop is booting but without display, and there is nothing i can do about it

It really worked for me, I have a HP Notebook with Ryzen 5500u and Vega 7 graphics but it was limited to use only 512 of VRAM no matter if I upgraded to 16GB of RAM. Now I have 2GB of VRAM and it works like a charm without any problem. I choose 2GB because is the recommended asset for Vega 7 graphics.
Hello friend, I have an hp 15 ef2xxx laptop that has the same amd 5500u processor and the radeon vega 7 graphics card but when I deactivate the secure boot and save the changes it asks me for the bitlocker recovery key, it is safe to put it and continue with the process to increase the vram?
@@luisromanradajimenez2432 indeed, is neccesary to deactivate secure boot to make the mod and is totally safe. Don't forget to get your bitlocker key first before disabling secure boot.

I think this bios doesn't support your laptop, can you tell me another list besides network device? some laptop models may show different settings option.

Works well with Ryzen 5 5500U on Dell Inspiron 14 2in1. Yes it did increase my FPS on Valorant only because it was limited by VRAM. Cant say for other games. I changed from 512Mb to 2Gb. Enough for my use case cuz its balanced enough for playing Val and having apps and tasks running.
@@septiann.739 Around 180 max. But i do have to point out the raw GPU power becomes the limitation and the game becomes a teary mess unless the frame rate is capped.
no display/black screen? cmos reset may solve this in any bios issues, you need to open the laptop and release cmos battery for 5 mins to force reset the bios.

Didn’t expect that it work, but holy moly. It work perfectly on my Notebook now I have in games like League of Legends 30 fps more and in GTA 90 fps on mid settings. Im be able to choose up to 16 GB VRAM but I decided to choose 4 and this is more then enough.

depending the game reqiurement, need more ram or more (dedicated) vram? some games need big dedicated vram to run. some games can run with 512mb (dedicated) vram, it because igpu can use shared vram from ram if igu need more vram. both dedicated and shared vram speed are same, follows ddr4 ram.

Tnx to this bro, I successfully increased my Vram up to 4gb dedicated but now my total ram has decreased from 16gb » 12gb bc the Vram allocation forced to borrow from my total ram... But I got improvements I think when playing GTA V at 512mb I only get ≤60fps but now in 4gb I got 80-100fps (I capped the fps to 100)... Really great and soon I'll be playing RE 4 remake hoping I could run it at least and it'll be well playable maybe at 60fps at the lowest 720p settings...

Guys , for everyone trying to do this now , theres a catch , if you have a r5 5500u with a vega 8 2GB Vram and 8 GB RAM , and you do this , you wont use the memory inside of the flash drive , but the actual ram your computer has , in my case i tried to use 4 gb instead of 2 and the ram has actually decreased by 2 gb , and the conputer i getting slower , so try it only if you have 16 or more gb of ram

I need help! I have and Acer aspire 5 515-47. Did all the process, disabled secure boot (had to setup security password in order to do that), selected boot priority for the USB drive, started the laptop and now it is stuck on a black screen. Cannot do anything from here. HELP!!!
did you have to enter custom bios and change any settings on custom bios? and you stuck on black screen solution = reset cmos battery or reseat battery connector if your laptop doesn't have cmos battery. to do that, you need to open the laptop back cover, or you can try to push battery reset hole but I don't know it will work or not

Well, after almost 2 years I finally got this solution, supposedly the BIOS would manage the VRAM intelligently, but in fact mine remained at a constant 512MB even though Several times some programs exceeded this default value and VRAM did not increase. I only put 2GB which I believe will be enough for almost everything since games aren't that heavy on GPU use, anyway thanks (Working on Ryzen 7 5700U with Vega 8)

that's desktop processor, maybe has different configuration AMD PBS and CBS. check your original motherboard bios, usually desktop motherboard bios has GFX configuration.

how to reset CMOS: - unscrew all the screws on the back door of the laptop - unplug battery main connector (big battery) - unplug cmos battery wait for 5 minutes - plug the cmos battery - plug the main bettery (big battery) - try turn on the laptop. Some types of new laptops may not have a CMOS battery, but integrated with the main battery, so just unplug and plug main battery connector.
Hello! I'm using HP 445 G7 Ryzen 5 4500u. It Only shows one Device Manager option. When I went inside it shows one option called "network device list". No more options comes like you showed in your video. Can anybody suggest a different solution please!
I found this issue from any this video comments, mostly caused by unsupported or locked custom modification for AMD CBS and PBS, depending on the brand and type of laptop as official bios creator.

reset cmos battery, you can do it by releasing small circular battery on laptop mainboard for 5 mins and put it back, with main battery disconnected. if still not working maybe contact professionals to reflash the bios

Also it can't be problem with setting parameters above maximum limit, because i get the same error even if i try to set vram to 1 gb (which is possible in the original bios).
is the difference between 1gb and 2gb of detected vram matter this much? like from your past benchmarks is using 1gb of vram will make a huge difference in fps and over all performance?
doesn't really matter, basically uses same memory as ram (ddr4 ram) it's more like reserved memory/ram for igpu, instead of dedicated vram. no big difference (maybe no difference) in benchmarks, even I compared 64mb vs 2gb vram (igpu) ruclips.net/video/RhK5VMa5_9c/видео.htmlsi=BmqenBUqQn6ZEV2Q but some games or apps require textual dedicated vram allocation to run.

usb disk only used to boot into custom bios
You don't need to set VRAM for AMD iGPU. It uses Shared Memory and will extend RAM used if the default buffer is full.

Works well with Ryzen 5 5500U on Dell Inspiron 14 2in1. Yes it did increase my FPS on Valorant only because it was limited by VRAM. Cant say for other games. I changed from 512Mb to 2Gb. Enough for my use case cuz its balanced enough for playing Val and having apps and tasks running.

cmos reset may solve this in any bios issues, you need to open the laptop and release cmos battery for 5 mins to force reset the bios.

Didn’t expect that it work, but holy moly. It work perfectly on my Notebook now I have in games like League of Legends 30 fps more and in GTA 90 fps on mid settings. Im be able to choose up to 16 GB VRAM but I decided to choose 4 and this is more then enough.

some games can run with 512mb (dedicated) vram, it because igpu can use shared vram from ram if igu need more vram.

Tnx to this bro, I successfully increased my Vram up to 4gb dedicated but now my total ram has decreased from 16gb » 12gb bc the Vram allocation forced to borrow from my total ram... But I got improvements I think when playing GTA V at 512mb I only get ≤60fps but now in 4gb I got 80-100fps (I capped the fps to 100)...
Really great and soon I'll be playing RE 4 remake hoping I could run it at least and it'll be well playable maybe at 60fps at the lowest 720p settings...

Guys , for everyone trying to do this now , theres a catch , if you have a r5 5500u with a vega 8 2GB Vram and 8 GB RAM , and you do this , you wont use the memory inside of the flash drive , but the actual ram your computer has , in my case i tried to use 4 gb instead of 2 and the ram has actually decreased by 2 gb , and the conputer i getting slower , so try it only if you have 16 or more gb of ram

Actually integrated graphics doesn't have its own vram. It uses a part of actual RAM as vram.

I need help! I have and Acer aspire 5 515-47. Did all the process, disabled secure boot (had to setup security password in order to do that), selected boot priority for the USB drive, started the laptop and now it is stuck on a black screen. Cannot do anything from here. HELP!!!
did you have to enter custom bios and change any settings on custom bios? and you stuck on black screen
solution = reset cmos battery or reseat battery connector if your laptop doesn't have cmos battery.
to do that, you need to open the laptop back cover, or you can try to push battery reset hole but I don't know it will work or not

Well, after almost 2 years I finally got this solution, supposedly the BIOS would manage the VRAM intelligently, but in fact mine remained at a constant 512MB even though Several times some programs exceeded this default value and VRAM did not increase. I only put 2GB which I believe will be enough for almost everything since games aren't that heavy on GPU use, anyway thanks

that's desktop processor, maybe has different configuration AMD PBS and CBS.
check your original motherboard bios, usually desktop motherboard bios has GFX configuration.
In NBIO common options, there is no gfx option :/ but ipu overclocking which i didn't understand.

how to reset CMOS:
- unscrew all the screws on the back door of the laptop
- unplug battery main connector (big battery)
- unplug cmos battery wait for 5 minutes
- plug the cmos battery
- plug the main bettery (big battery)
- try turn on the laptop.
Some types of new laptops may not have a CMOS battery, but integrated with the main battery, so just unplug and plug main battery connector.

It Only shows one Device Manager option. When I went inside it shows one option called "network device list". No more options comes like you showed in your video. Can anybody suggest a different solution please!
I found this issue from any this video comments, mostly caused by unsupported or locked custom modification for AMD CBS and PBS, depending on the brand and type of laptop as official bios creator.

Also it can't be problem with setting parameters above maximum limit, because i get the same error even if i try to set vram to 1 gb (which is possible in the original bios).

it's more like reserved memory/ram for igpu, instead of dedicated vram.
