This is the best demo I’ve yet seen of the range of possibilities.
seems like it'd be extremely well suited to creating sound effects for movie monsters and aliens and such
I can totally hear this as an alien voice in Star Wars or something, for sure!
@@beelbrother1648It was used in the movie Smile for example
@@CallMeMistaPepe Interesting, I will give it a watch.
@@beelbrother1648 Yea, if it’s not your cup of tea then the soundtrack deserves a listen. Nothing like you’ve heard before.
Funny you say that, we just used this on a horror film I’m working on. It’s perfect for that type of application. 🤙🏼
I approve this message.
Wolderfull, seem like my grandma voice😮🎉

AND AMAZING SHIRT!!!
Yeah man!!!
I was curious- is there any tone production from a bow without an amplifier?
Hi Emily, yes it does produce tone without amplification. There is room for exploration here, with resonators and sound boxes instead of piezos.
For the first time an instrument dethroned the modular synthesizer in my personal list.
If you'd ever like a tripod or desktop dax, let me know!
Excellent! Is that block fretted?
Yup! It's fretted on one side, and smooth on the other. Basically a convex fretboard. Though you do most of your playing on the smooth side.
you know, this instrument is very atonal and anti-melodic, however you still conjured some beautiful parts here and there.
YES!!!
What kind of bow hair is that?
I use a carbon fiber bow with synthetic hair...this was a double bass bow. If you are interested I can post the amazon link
😂
A bit funny sounds, all out of tune..
It's not out of tune if it's what you intended to play!
@@johnjansen6467 You are right. It's amazing how close it sounds to the human voice, even closer than a cello I would say.
