My bias is Pablo, the leader. He is just a genius and all his works are masterpieces. I recommend you check out the songs in his Alon album and Laon album released in September. He is so versatile and can create songs in any genre and do it equally well in english and in the filipino language.
Hope you do a deeper dive into SB19. Their lyrics are so meaningful and they sing with such passion! Not sure what you've seen so far but their ballads will put you on an emotional rollercoaster! Each member has a solo catalog as well! Keep exploring!
SB19’s journey is truly inspiring. They came from humble beginnings, without the support of a big company to promote them. The struggles and hardships they endured to get where they are now are nothing short of heart-wrenching. Their story is a testament to resilience, talent, and unwavering passion. I hope you’ll explore their music and discography more deeply. Beyond their group efforts, each member has branched out into impressive solo ventures. Pablo, Ken, and Josh have all released solo albums, while Stell recently dropped his EP, and Justin has released singles worth checking out. Ken’s solo album 7sins is particularly noteworthy. It’s a conceptual masterpiece with nine tracks blending hip-hop and metal influences, showcasing his artistic depth and versatility. I hope you’ll take a dive into their group songs first and then explore these incredible solo projects. Thank you so much in advance-I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I love all these dudes Ken with his bass voice and versatility Pablo with his brilliant mind(poetic lyricist) Stell with his crazy high range (counter tenor) Justin with his artistic and creative mind Josh with his swag, charisma and rap skill Not to mention that they are all singers, rappers, dancers, song-writers, creative directors and some of them are producers. Most of all, they are self-manage group. They build their own entertainment company tru their hardwork love for their craft. Amazing
Gento is replete with Filipino aphorisms presented in a humorous way. All told, it talks about how one has to dig (toil) hard to reach pay dirt (success). That’s how SB19 got to where they are now. Gento itself is a play on the words (Pablo, their leader/composer/CEO, is fun of wordplays) “ganito” (like this, as in showing how it’s done) and “ginto”(gold). 😊 They are the first Filipino artists (and I think Southeast Asian too) to be in the First Take where you only have one shot at performing your song. There are other events where they were the first Filipinos (and Southeast Asian) to be there too, like the Grammy Global Spin where Ken (known as Felip in his solo acts) performed his Bulan and after some years, Josh too with his Yoko Na. 😊
“Baked that potato…” is more like them doing the hardwork. They seize the day the moment they wake up. 😊 They stripped down the song so that their voices are more highlighted. So this actually is the answer to your last question on your last reaction if Ken’s voice is actually real. Yes. It’s very real, no effects. 😊
