This would turn out to be the final race for one of the most underappreciated American-based racing teams ever, PacWest Racing, as after 150 races, 5 CART/Champ Car wins, many podiums, talented drivers such as Scott Sharp, Mark "Billy" Blundell, Mauricio "Big Mo" Gugelmin, and Scott Dixon, and forays into Indy Lights and the short-lived North American Touring Car Championship, Bruce McCaw's dream that started at Laguna Seca in 1993 finally died when the team closed up shop for good. RIP PacWest Championship Racing 1993-2002.
Looked it up on Wiki and it says that Servia raced one more time for them before they closed up shop. Really sad. They were my favorite team. Had to follow KV after that and it looks like they're done this year.
