- In this video I unbox and give you my first impressions of the SCUF Reflex FPS PS5 controller. This SCUF Reflex FPS controller has the instant triggers and bumpers that are meant to be used in FPS and Battle Royale games. This is the second SCUF Reflex model to come out after the SCUF Reflex Pro at a slightly higher price. The SCUF Reflex FPS also has the rumbles removed from the controller making it lighter than the SCUF Reflex Pro.

What do you guys think about the SCUF Reflex FPS PS5 controller?
Wondering if the paddles (before mapping them to any face buttons) can be assigned a function in a game.

Does the instant trigger work well with destiny 2? I used to own a PS4 scuf impact, switched it to the shorter trigger but it couldnt register a shot in D2 :/
Removing the back paddles is by far one of the scariest things I’ve ever done XD
Just got one and if you remove the (kinda unnecessary) inner paddles, it works with the stock PlayStation charging cradle, if anybody is curious.

I run tactical flipped so I was hoping for the same. But you can only get digital front if you do the digital back bumpers
Could always just lower the trigger deadzones in game settings and buy separate trigger stops
So I got the $40 extra it says digital triggers / bumpers does that mean the bumpers are also digital?

Ahhhhh I don’t know what i’d feel without the Rumble, thinking their haptic feedback was the best thing about the PS5 controller 😅 If it wasn’t for the instant click I wouldn’t feel interested in getting another Scuf
@Jebus Bhrist in competitive multiplayer sure bit when I play COD campaign I use adaptive triggers
Haptic feedback is awesome in single player but it puts you at a disadvantage online. You want pinpoint accuracy and the rumble can throw you off, especially at long distances.

Is the R1 faster to use when firing than using R2 ? I’m used of tactical flip so I fire on R2….
They should make the instant triggers more durable one hard press and you are done
personally removing the rumble altogether isn’t worth the extra $10. just turn vibrations off in controller settings and save your $10

Agreed, if two ounces really makes a difference whether you play another 30m then it'll benefit those people far more to add a few forearm exercises that are free than throw 10 dollars to the bin.

But keep on insulting people that are better than you at games. I know it makes you slightly sleep better at night after making all those mental excuses for losing fps games lol.

Honestly, don't hold your breath waiting for full customizable reflex controller, you're pretty much stuck with just the reflex, reflex pro, and reflex fps models and colors they have available. If you want to customize your controller, I recommend going with the Hexgaming Ultimate PS5 controller.

My k/d went from 1.2 to 2.3 after a Scuf on MW2019. It’s a huge advantage. Being able to jump and slide while still aiming makes run n gunning and hip firing so much more clutch, especially on MP. Being able to bunny hop and dolphin dive while not taking your thumb off the right joystick at so you can still aim at any distance is a huge advantage.
I just ordered my Reflex FPS and haven’t got it yet so I can’t speak on that but the Impact for PS4 was an absolute game changer for the aforementioned reasons. The trigger stops were clutch, too. The upgrade with the insta click adaptive triggers or whatever they’re called in the FPS are probably gonna be better.

@ZadiusTech would you recommend getting stock thumb sticks and putting on control freaks as someone you uses them frequently or just go ahead and order with your style of thumb sticks stock .
Given that control freaks are fairly cheap, yet work so well I would go with that and just order the stick thumb sticks from scuf

Hi can you disable any of the trigger settings for any of the ps5 scuf models on pc ? Im not a fan of the adaptive or instant trigger

If Scuf was doing increased stick tension it would be the best controller on the market. Increased Tension is a BIG DEAL. It is the reason i ordered Battle Beaver instead even thou BB has worse paddle buttons

I agreed with the tension at first but going back to normal sticks. I love the shit. Maybe just not for me tho
but saying that my BB lasted me 2 3 years (good product.) my first ever scuf i got before the BB had Remapping issues from day one.

Many controller brands offer customization so you can get instant triggers and leave the rumbles. Scuf now offers this if you’re still in the market

You’d think Scuf would have better paddle placement by now, right? Look at AimControllers paddles. They just make sense

No, they cannot. So make sure you order the right controller that works best for you. Reflex FPS for FPS/BR games and Reflex/Reflex Pro for all other games.

I've had two of these controllers for several months and the triggers still work great.
I never got the Instant trigger stops. Everyone ik who has scuf plays cod. But a lot of pros run their r1 L1 r2 L2 flipped making instant triggers kinda pointless

That is correct, no long concave thumb sticks. I think the reasoning behind that is that most people use a domed stick for precision aiming.
@@ZadiusTech Really? I tried domed and it felt terrible. Thought most used concave. Anyway could you tell me how much higher the scuff thumbsticks are than the normal PS5 controllers are? I might just use the kontrol Freaks I have because I heard they fit on scuff thumbsticks. Idk if they will be too high tho.

I would say go with the kontrol freaks, but that is just my opinion based on having used them before.
So lets say if you were to get it with vibration but if you want to turn the vibration off from time to time can you turn it off the vibration in game

I own both Aim and Scuf Reflex, the AimController sucks, paddle quality is bad, i love the new Scuf.
Is there anyway you can test the fps on destiny 2 with the sparrow and see if it uses it’s boost cuz I know with my vantage 2 when I used the trigger stops the boosted didn’t work on the sparrow so I’m wondering if the reflex fps does the same thing… would be amazing if you tested it out

I just got my scuf reflex fps. Does anyone else feel like the digital triggers have some “play” as in they have a post travel distance after the initial click? Kinda like a squishy feeling?
I also have an instinct pro and an impact pro. And the reflex has the most play in the triggers out of all of them

Just got mine, everything good except the D pad is very touchy. If I press up on the d pad more than half the time it presses up and left simultaneously, meaning that when I ping someone in warzone it also changes my gun to single fire. Not good

No, just got mine yesterday and unfortunately the kontrol freeks fit too loosely and fall off. Really wish the thumb sticks would all be standard sizes for this reason.

Much prefer the Aim controller than the scuf which is also alot cheaper but superior in every way. Scuf were way to late to launch a ps5 controller. The Aim Controller still looks and performs like it is still brand new after a 1 year of use. I probably wont be saying that about the reflex after 6 months of use.

I have quite a few I bought when I switched back to controller from mouse and keyboard. My favorite is the evil controllers. Love the back buttons, fits on a charging dock still, and I’m a fan of the stock shell - just enough grip. Their mouse clicks are far and away better than the extreme rate triggers.
I have two aims and can confirm they've been the best controllers ever. I do wanna try this specific controller though to be honest it's just not in stock smh
Aimcontroller back paddles are worst ever in the world…or you have very small hand or they are impossible to use properly with that “spider” form …scuf a lot better

Craig, this is common in "Pro" controllers. The thinking is probably if you're buying one of these controllers you have enough experience on playing on Playstation that you have memorized which button corresponds to which symbol.
@@ZadiusTech yeah I get that, their ps4 controllers have the symbols I believe tho, so I hope that you will be able to customize the reflex more in depth like their ps4 one. I would prefer just to have them even tho, I'm used to them and like the symbols just seems weird to me personally not to have them. It's just a blank button lol. Just me view tho.

How do you get vibration to work?
Buy the regular Scuf Reflex, not the FPS version. The FPS version has the rumbles for vibration removed.

Yes, it comes with a higher domed thumbstick that you can put on.
The only thing I don’t like about the fps is that there is no rumble/vibration
I don't use vibration or anything, but yes the price should reflect the absence of features. Also customization should not be extra. It should be a set price and you can customize it how you want. They nickel and dime you so bad with thay stuff. I paid 280 for my xboxone instict pro after full customization and its 199.99. That's insane.
When you build it you can choose to put them in. They actually charge you for taking out the rumble
Question: so i just bought my first scuf and it was a fps version. how long did it take you guys to get used to the paddles? i play games like mw2 so ive been using the paddles to slide or jump but im just catching my self forcing movement instead of moving fluidly. any comments or suggestions welcome!
Recently got mine, use left paddle for jump and right for ping (easy to do whilst shooting), don’t need slide as play tactical. Removed the two smaller inner paddles but may consider changing in future after I get used to this.
Just use the paddle for jumping in your normal way, it’ll take a bit to get it into your muscle memory but when it is your movement will just be that little bit more fluid!

I use one paddle for jumping and one for square for reloading, reviving, interacting, etc. I might setup an inner paddle for crouching/prone and the other for down button for the backpack in WZ 2, pinging or maybe kill streaks. Definitely the first two paddles, though.

What about stick drift ?
Players that have been using these have said that it’s actually amazing and they didn’t notice stick drift even after 6 months of use. Once Corsair bought out scuff, the quality of the scuff brand controllers were upgraded big time.
How does it do when it comes to stick drift?
I own two of these SCUF Reflex controllers and I have had zero problems with stick drift after using them for several months.

It's really to bad that you can change out the stick mechanism for that price. I know some manufacturers does have this option, but Astro stop making them and the other one has the bottom buttons pretty much away from the grab handle. Every controller is a totally rip off, since you can't change the stick mechanism when they drift too much or a5 least have software to correct it. Where are the next generation possibly magnetic ones? Has anyone figured this stick drift crap out yet? Not worth your hard earned money. To pay $250 you need a paycheck that's at least $350 to get to $250 after taxes.

My history with elite controllers is 3 xbox elite 2 all of them had bamper issues and the main reasons I want to switch is because the Xbox elite pull rate is very do anyone know if u can fill the overclock plz write u r thoughts on the scuf and if u feel or have an overclock controller (I would still like to get the Xbox elite)

Sounds like your PS4 hard drive has gone bad. Replace the hard drive and reinstall the PS4 system software using USB method.

Is it possible to get fps with vibration?
No, not that I am aware of. If you want vibration you'll need to either get the Reflex Pro or the regular Reflex.
