this series is absolutely amazing. i hope one day to open up a lil diy spot and maybe someday a full on skatepark so this information is super valuable. i admire these types of things not only because its super creative and effectively makes ramp building accessible for everyone but you guys are also using pieces of wood/materials that were just going to be thrown away and wasted. pushing the narrative to go look for wasted material instead of wasting money is not only good for skaters pockets, it instills a diy independant creative mindset but this way of thinking is also great for the planet. wasting things like lumber when trees are what give the planet oxygen never set well with me, this video was just such a satisfying watch for me. ill be a subscriber for life after this one.
I really enjoy watching these "create and skate" videos. Building then riding what you build is one of the most satisfying things in the world. One of the best thing about this channel is that the owner can really skate!
Thanks guys, this will definitely be a fun winter project to do with my kids as they wait out the snow and can skate outside again. Appreciate the specs!
For the thing about the piece of metal at the bottom of the ramp, over here the car reg plates are 20.5 x 5 inches and they're made of plastic, works like a dream
When I learned to Ollie off kick ramps was the best time in my skating career. It made me want to skate transitions. We didn’t have parks like they have now so it really made me love the air I could catch off those ramps.
My phone was listening in on me picking up pallets and wood from construction sites the last couple days and decided to show me this 3 year old video of yall doing what I was doing lol. Man I’m about to go to friggin Home Depot and Lowe’s TOMORROW. I wanna build a spine next after my quarter pipe
Around me they lock up all the containers around construction sites and security all over... Would be a dream come true to find places like this... I feel inspired to build something :D
Very nice kicker project !! You guys are so fun an generous. I'm trying to plan building this Kicker but the 10' radius seem quite steeper then yours. Could it be a 15' radius you have on these or is it really a 10' !?
Now this is good content! I've been trying to find ways to get some free wood and I knew about some of these but for some reason just seeing yall do it on video made it more clear to me that this is what I need to do. Haha
Very cool thank you for sharing I wanted to ask how far apart are the ribs from each other and from The Edge and how do you apply the plywood is it drilled on to the ribs or glued? Thank you
I just built a ramp using pallets and my friends suggested for me to build a kicker I was hoping for you guys to have made a video on how to make one and who would of known a few hours later you guys made a video on it
I also used an old street sign for a threshold plate, but left a bit more length, transitioning from the ramp to the flat ground. The plate seems to be bending upward, away from the ground. Is this a common problem, and a reason to not leave too much length on the threshold plate, between the ramp and the flat ground?
These vids are well good You should for real make a full skatepark like this that would be epic Maybe invite YT skaters to skate it and give it a score etc
Cool series, but.... My dad was a trucker with his own flat bed. When he came home it was my job to stacks those 4x4s and make sure they were secure. Those aren’t free. And they are needed to distribute the load or keep things off the flatbed.
Nahh for real though, the wood on the trailer is actually essential for being able to transport loads. Not only for strapping them down securely but also for being able to remove them safely. Honestly kinda fucked up(I have to load and unload trailers often for my job)
That board from the semi truck trailer was actually what they keep under their trailers to use for loads for certain reasons and they actually need those and is their property.. would have at least asked the owner before grabbing that one. Lol but I’m sure they would be fine with loosing one. Hahah
If you go to the metal scrap companies in your area and tell them what kind of metal you want, like those plates where the wood meets the ground you can buy those from your local scrap companies. Mine will sell me any metal I want for scrap value, in other words you save a lot! A lot! of money. Of course you can get angle iron, round bar, the sky is the limit.
this series is dope but its so hard to binge because you never set camera down, i totally wouldn't mind some time lapses and narration. either way i will still watch but, please consider a tripod!!! love it keep em. coming
Has anyone got each measurement for each piece of wood. I’m making one for a friend who’s just started skating and I have done my own version on paper but something doesn’t seem right.
