Rare messages! Epic KONE TMS and KONE Marine lifts onboard StenaLine Dublin-Holyhead

Great video. The last time I was on the Stena Adventurer was around 2016. There was no voice in them TMS lifts at that time. Nice to see they are still there. Most ferries built around the late 90s and early 2000s had Kone MacGregor TMS (M-Series) installed. Notable ferries with Kone TMS lifts-
Stena Line- Stena Adventurer (Dublin to Holyhead)
Stena Line- Stena Superfast VII, VIII, X (Belfast to Cairnryan / Dublin to Holyhead (X))
Irish Ferries- Ulysses (Dublin to Holyhead)
I think most of the Greek Superfast ferries (which Stena Line have got three) have Kone TMS installed on them

Thanks! Ah right, definitely aftermarket then. Older lifts like this seem to survive better in marine environments - not sure why, as they're very busy upon embarkation and disembarkation - maybe the components have had durability beefed up to allow them to take the forces experienced on a boat, and as a result are lasting longer.

@@LIFTEXCELSIOROfficial They would have to be well built and much more heavy duty that lifts on land. They have to be built to withstand bad swaying when there’s bad weather. Also, to modernise or replace the lifts would require them to go to dry dock, which would mean the likes of Stena Line would lose money just to modernise or replace the lifts onboard. They would wait until they need to bring the ship to dry dock to overhaul the whole ferry to do the lifts (if they need to be done)

@mcxcdx There are a fair few of them on boats, yeah, but when that's the only place you can really find them reliably now they're still rare if you ask me.
