Westerners don't understand how a small problem to us can be so devastating to a Filipina so much it effects their entire life. It's heartbreaking that not having what we think are basic can cause such emotional problems. Most don't know that "Pag pag" a practice of digging thru the trash and getting any kinds of food to re-cook it as a meal happens All the time in the Philippines. Derek & Ai are truly Great people and Jimsel hopefully realizes what good friends along with wonderful support they can be. I consider myself Blessed to call them "Friends" and I will continue to support his channel and his vision to help others who want to help themselves. 💕 🏍😎

Sad story Derek. Poor Jimsel, i felt her sadness. In my experience living on Cebu, parents and their offspring tend to not be very close as the kids grow older and the kids find it difficult to share their feelings with their parents. There is also a tendency for the parents to focus more on discipline than love and understanding so the kids do not feel comfortable approaching their mother or father about their feelings. We have experience of this with a young lady in our family who finds it easier to relate to us about her personal problems than her parents, and she recognises my wife and i as her alternative Mum and Dad.
Given the economical conditions, I understand (don't agree)how this is. Similar to how I was raised but my life was fortunately not as extreme

We are experimenting currently. The DJI Pocket is correct. The other camera is my Samsung Galaxy s22 plus. I broke my DJI Action 4 recently and in process of getting new equipment

I recognized a lot about what she said about her early years as a child. She survived her own thoughts and I'm sure she will be okay (if she keeps surrounding herself with good people). Her youth will always leave a scar but she will give it a place. As long she feels and start believe that she matters and is a big asset in this world.
Giving her the opportunity to help others may work very therapeutic for her own good.

Needing 80 pisos ( I believe about $1.50) for exams and not having it is tragic. Most of us have that under our car seat. The quiet desperation that so many people have to live in every day is heartbreaking. Until the cycle of poverty is broken, even someone helping out, like Derrek and Ai do) is just a bandaid. A wonderful bandaid, but still, until that poverty cycle is broken, people have little chance to breathe.
I hope for all people we are involved with are long term. I prefer to see them through. My failures deprived from them abusing my resources, not being proactive, dishonesty, etc. I don't quit on these kids unless they quit on themselves by disappearing, stealing, lying, etc

You seem to have missed a vital part about such hotlines that people should be aware of: The individuals answering those phones may be strangers, they have also gone through the same issues. It's a requirement to work on such sensitive topics. Unlees they changed the laws and policies since my grandfather last checked (he has a law degree).
My cousin is a volunteer in Brooklyn, NY where for 15 years he has assisted on the "Suicide Hotline" and like most who answer have unfergone extensive training in answering those calls as a person's life can hang in the balance and just having a compassionate ear to listen can be all it takes. Jimsel is Blessed having Derek and Ai who are even more compassionate and empathetic then most will know as he is Just like his videos as i am so Happy to call them friends.

Danm that hurt to hear, 1500 pesos is around 30 dollars not 100. In my country all school children get free education untill Post secondary. If any student qualify for university free scholarship by the state. It is a law here that all kids should go to school until 15 years old. The government provides free school breakfast, free school lunch and transport to and from school paid tax payers money paid by the government . Here many parents do not take their responsibilities towards their children education and some kids create lots of trouble in school. Now hearing this from a student struggling and crying just to manage to complete her education gives me goose bumps. I was able air this interview on the national TV in my country to make everyone hear this so that people can take their education and responsibility seriously here.
That's my hope. To get the word out so better perspectives can be formed throughout different cultures. Perspectives

Not a statement of expertise, but I think people you speak of are of mental illness and you are correct. In most Asian countries, these thoughts derived from depression, desperation, and endless roadblocks

@@qadventures it is a "Filipino thing" to show happiness when sorrowful as they are a "Happy People" even though they face Many hardships they take it in stride so much better then us "Westerners" as just living there I can see how they let it slide off their back where we tend to get upset or cry along and feel the same pain as our way of being empathetic. My Filipino girlfriend cracks jokes and makes funny faces as i think she isn't being serious when i say certain things but it is to try and make me feel better. Such a kind people

This was for her school supplies and uniforms as paying for school Has to be paid first as they Won't let you be late for Any reason. Not a good video. You never bring up a topic like this. Mental health is not a joke and depression is not something to do on a vlog with a young child. It's my opinion.
What you say is correct but I don't believe she ever attempted suicide. A 5 yo can't understand the concept of hanging themselves and that cut on the arm was nothing.
