Direction of tangential velocity is always changing in circular motion..and due to the change in direction the tangential velocity the acceleration produced is called centripetal acceleration..which is towards the center always

Tangential velocity is not zero. It's constant everywhere let say at one point it's 2m/s and another point also 2m/s so it's constant not changing .
