    I Have 2 of the CXS love them. I bought the CSX12 and it is a little louder but a DeWalt is worst. You will get used to it. it is most noticeable it your using in in building a cabinet inside

      @@debandmike3380 yes I know they make a couple of very nice ones. However, do they take my Festool batteries? Do they automatically turn the Festool vacuum on that they are attached to via Bluetooth? I’m surprised you asked why really.

    Worked with brushless t18. It’s quite. Cxs 12 is extremely loud. Why? Did no one in festool noticed that?

    Thanks for such a comprehensive video.
    I've heard that the new CXS 12 is loud. Very loud. And high pitched. There are two threads, one of them very big, about it on the Festool Owners Group and MasonWoodshop did a video on it on YT.
    It appears significantly louder than their old CXS and their existing C18.
    Has Festool USA anything to say about this?

    • @bdm1000
      @bdm1000 Год назад

      The CXS is louder than the CXS, but it's in the middle of the pack when compared to other installation drill/drivers. It's the price we pay for having a brushless motor.

  • @SingleTrack66

    I feel like the txs12 is stalled because it’s more compact than the cxs12 and would outsell it if they were both launched at the same time.

      I mean if you're already in the 18v system, why get 12v batteries just for the drill

      There is at least 1 video out there showing all 4 new TXS and CXS drill/drivers. There's a clear size difference between the CXS 18 and CXS 12. The CXS 18 is also 100g heavier at 800g. The size difference between the TXS 18 and 12 is much smaller. The weight without accessories is identical at 700g. My assumption is that Festool USA decided it wasn't worth importing the TXS 12, because most people would choose the 18.

      I recently bought a brushless Makita drill and it's also loud like the CXS12. I thought that brushless motors would be quieter but I guess not.

    • @nickway_
      @nickway_ Год назад

      @@darrinmc brushless is quieter, since you have no noise/friction from the brushes rubbing. However, if they put in a bigger, more powerful, higher RPM brushless motor, its' going to be louder than the previous brushed model.

    • @teac117
      @teac117 Год назад

      @@nickway_ Most of the sound from BLDC motors comes from the vibration. The smaller the package, the seemingly worse it becomes. Vibration and acoustics are a problem such that there are actually specialized controller chips for that :P

    It's bad enough the drill is twice as expensive, but I get it. If you're doing this for a living it might be well worth it. However, I can't stand how you have to buy the Eccentric chuck separately for $139. Even worse, if you buy the set, you get the crappier right angle attachment, so if you want get the "Plus" kit and save $50 so you can buy the better right angle chuck, it will cost you another $139. The DeWALT and Milwaukee versions will literally be half price or less depending on what Festool chucks you go with.

    I was eager to learn about the new tool. Instead I have to watch a wanna be comedian. You need to stand BEHIND the table. I watched your back way too much. You constantly move the tool. Very hard to get a good look. Sorry but this video needs deleted and replaced asap. For a professional tool company this is the most amateurish video I have ever seen. If I offend you , sorry but watch video and tell me where I am wrong.

    the bit cassette options are terrible. More than half of the bits will never get used (and you are paying for them). Where is the flathead? non-existent in festool. do you know how many times you encounter flatheads when renovating? And the gouging is obvious with the offset attachment sold separately which come with other brands. Its a gear, yet costs more than most other entire drills.

    • @SingleTrack66
      @SingleTrack66 Год назад +1

      I have two long centrotec flat head screw driver bits in my old installers set. Not sure what you mean about the obvious gouging, I’ve used mine for years and really don’t know what you are referring to. Finally, just stick with your other brands… really, they’re fine for you. Bentley and Rolls Royce and Porsche forums and channels are full of the same sort of comments from Makita type users.
