I'm looking for one of these now, as a company car. I drove the 330e last year and was disappointed. On the BMW, the engine cut in was obvious and the engine a bit noisy (not in a good way). It was also a bit strange braking to a stop, with a noticeable jolt when stopping. I tried another at the same dealer - identical. Not nice. The Mercedes is super smooth, quiet engine / seamless transition electric - engine, comfy and a very good ride. A 2 tonne PHEV wagon isn't a sports car, comfort wins over any minor handling difference.
Seems like you get more for your money nearly new with the merc vs the 3 and a more practical battery, beemer options are so pricey. I've driven the 3 and found it still drives nice and unless braking heavy you don't notice the weight. How does this feel on a spirited drive? on paper it seems to have more power, is the quoted 300 bhp available all the time you have charge?
Cheers for the review - I currently drive an Audi ETron but I’m still not convinced by the pure EV so looking to change to PHEV when the ETron goes back later this year. I’m currently looking at a Q5 TFSIe - do you think this Merc or the GLE are worth looking at as viable alternatives? I’m open to either SUV or Estate car. Oh, and respect for the CW Trident on your wrist! I’ve owned a lot of CW’s but only have one in my current collection - biggest mistake I made was selling my MK2 Trident GMT white ‘wave’ dial 😢
Hi Chris, thanks for watching. Right now if you’re looking at a PHEV then the new Mercedes GLC would be my choice due to the 80 miles of electric range and cheap on the company car tax if it is a company car. I need to drive the Q5 but another alternative is the Jaguar F Pace. GLE is fab but as a diesel it’s can become expensive to fill up. I’m a big fan of CW and have been now for a few years, great watches. Let me know how you get on with your car search.
Prospective users of any vehicle want more when viewing the presentation. Unfortunately, I did not receive much information here that the user would like. The trunk is better designed, the interior of the vehicle is said to be smaller, and the electric range shows you 50 miles, with a little exaggeration on my part, that's all I got. I don't mean anything bad, but you could put a certain thing in the trunk for a sense of size, we are most interested in the range, how the drive switches in hybrid operation and, of course, what is the consumption of all three drives, ICE/Hybrid/Electric. The equipment of the vehicle is sometimes irrelevant and everyone adjusts it themselves, at most we are interested in the interface, what it shows us while driving and what the seats are like... Anyway, I watched the video and I recommend myself for the next one.
The new Mercedes C300e has an Electric Range up to 100km WLTP and BMW only last 50KM and also the Mercedes can charge much faster so the best choice is the Mercedes if you want a good hybrid.
Thank you. I know they have launched the new GLC with the diesel PHEV and am waiting for that. Hopefully I will get my hands on it in the coming months

And the BIk is cheaper with the Merc.

Agree the numbers behind both the Merc is the better choice. Battery and petrol combined is great when you do put your foot down.

Thanks for the review. Next year I'm getting a new car and it would be between this and the bmw 330e touring. I'm more inclined for the bmw
Having now driven a proper premium plus it is brilliant. If it’s a company car then this wins over the BMW.
I’m still waiting to drive the new 330e

Feel like I watched a BMW review. More info on the Merc would have been helpful.
Thanks for watching. The C300e will be back on the channel in the new year. It’s mega expensive albeit cheaper on the BIK vs the 330e.
Love the reviews but can you get your hands on a Mercedes PHEV diesel ⛽️?
