You are absolutely correct......This is 2013 and there is no need for our people (black people) to still be afraid of water....No need..

Just finished reading his book. He and his wife agreed it was an accident, the incident with the car. Beyond that, it was a long time ago. As overall crime of theft, burglary and abusive people go in our state, judges are way too lenient. Rodney King is a lesson in time.

In Chicago 3 months ago 2 young thugs demanded money from a mom with her baby in a stroller. When she said she didn't have money to give, they shot her baby point blank in the head. They were arrested. A crime like that is hard to get over. Recently in my city a car thief with 30+ convictions was shot and killed by the owner. The owner is going to prison for awhile on murder 2nd degree because his life wasn't threatened and people are pissed he is being charged. I feel the law failed us.

Yes, I agree @LIVE4peace. Nice name! I am glad i know how to swim people know how to swim. People need to listen, and heed this advice. You can save a life by knowing how to swim, not to mention your own life. You can also learn free CPR.Nothing to lose by learning. We are never too old to learn as long as we taking care of our mind body and soul.

Rodney was known to be an excellent swimmer. His death wasn't at fault of his own. there is more to it.

And pcp. His 20mph high speed chase was high on pcp. Charged an attack and whooped the police for 7 mins even breaking out of cuffs at one point.
The media didn’t show the first half just the beat down. 99.9 % of people aren’t even aware there were 2 passengers. Both black in the car who were arrested without incident
      Rodney attacked like a bull.

I'm sorry. I was speaking out of pain back when I wrote this. My father was a fireman and he was killed by a black man, just doing his job. I actually used to be a neo-nazi, and I went to jail for manslaughter. I met a black man in prison and he saved my life. When I got out, I had to correct the problems I had caused in my community. I've learned my lessson now. Again, I am sorry.

All this crap about his addictions were his. Happy Father's Day. * Respect * He was tormented by addictions and died from them. An addiction does not mean you're a bad person. He paid the price for what wrong he done, so leave him alone!!

People need to remember that we are human. No one is perfect or ever will be. Where is the compassion in YOUR hearts. Who are YOU to judge in such a way and circumstance. But if judgement was dependent on character and heart, most of you will be cast out. If he had killed someone, murdered, molested, or raped, YOU would still call damn him. So who are the truly hateful, miserable, and emotionally confused and misplaced here?, RIP Rodney. Love and compassion requires faith.

Well, you're right. People are learning they destroyed a huge community. I want to believe those same people learned from their destruction. The jurors and lawyers screwed up the first time. demonstrations to get their message across. We just have to put it all to rest. Horrible things happen every day.

You don't need to get so stirred up. He didn't claim to be flawless and made poor life choices. Showing compassion to someone when You don't think they deserves it makes you a better man.
