Great to see a good video on the good ol' S200!!!
I remember years ago, when I first saw the S200 advertised, it stated, "great air rifle for beginners, juniors" now I giggle at that...
Well, I can say, after owning many expensive air guns, I tried a pimped up S200 and I was so much in awe that I grabbed 4 of them up to this date! And since then I have hunted in California for jackrabbit, ground squirrels, cotton tails, and pest control on starlings, pigeons etc, generally small game. Target shooting is a blast at the range, shooting out to 110 yards. People tend to ask, what is that thing yer shooting!?
Don't let this smallish size air rifle fool you, it is a serious little sniper, deadly in the right hands...most of my kill shots are 65-90 yards!
And if you end up, polishing the trigger components, and adding a 1.5 cylinder with a regulator, and a gauge with a quick-fill from Altaros, and a larger cocking bolt, and then dress it up with a "Element Optics Helix 6-24x50 scope, then you will see the scary accuracy that the phenomenal cold hammer CZ barrel can give!
It's lightweight, scary accurate, can set it at different power settings, my favorite being 13-14fpe., though I have had one of the S200's at 26fpe!! Mind you I'm talking about 1.77 caliber. I love this caliber because the trajectory is just phenomenal, and with the JSB Heavies it sure does deliver!
A gem I would say :-), and those who have one of these beauties, would say the same...

That's pretty much exactly my hunting set up. S200, Vantage scope, cheap bipod and 10 shot mag. They're a bit expensive new but I went the 2nd hand route. A complete very light accurate hunter for sub £400. I love it. Good vid as always mate

Just a point of interest to you maybe. There is a company that makes in-line spinner baits for fishing called Rooster Tail here in the USA and they pay for squirrel tails. Maybe a little more revenue for you. Don't know if you would make any money or not after mailing them across the pond, but there it is.

You cannot go wrong with AirArms rifles, I've got a 15 year old S410 and it 'Does exactly what it says on the tin', paid about £300 inc a Hawke scope and a moderator,I get it serviced regularly by a very good mate for a parts only fee ,(I sort him with fresh eggs and a few packs of my own home cured bacon). why break the bank on anything else other than a new AA S410.

Very good as always, especially with the S200., that's some shooting. The thing that's puzzling me though is why go single shot? Wouldn't that make it a little time consuming if a follow up shot was needed? I would have thought that a 10 shot budget PCP would have been the gun of choice such as the Gamo GX40.

LOL. I did that to a chipmunk with my 30-30. I had sit down to wait out a meadow for deer. This guy was not happy that I was on his log, and he was pitching a massive fit. I tried buying him off with a few crackers. That was a mistake. Then I’m starting to see other hunters in the same area. I could smell cigarette smoke. Then they started to get louder in conversation, and the damn chipmunk just wouldn’t let it go. So I took aim and pretty much vaporized him off the tree.

I do and they drop as quick as a head shot, just behind the shoulder and it's straight into the heart/lung if they're facing away from you as the one in the video was.

Absolutely you can. As you saw the rifle is more than up to the job. However it is my personal belief that with a heart and lung shot, it is not as fast a dispatch than with a shot straight to the brain. I’m not saying it isn’t effective. But they tend to thrash around more. They’re pretty hardy little animals.

they don't always drop, all it takes is a shot to hit bone and go off slightly and a heart/lung shot becomes a lung only. the little sods can get quite a way in the few seconds before they drop. had it happen a few years ago and it got 2 gardens away before it collapsed. my neighbour's distaste at having to deal with a dead squirrel was a picture. since then head shots only in the garden.

I get pest control. I get rats and pigeons. But foxes and squirrels are so cute that i can never feel entertained watching them die. I hope one day all things will be able to live in harmony and death will be no more. Until then, what's up doc

it doesn't take much witnessing the real damage they do to lose all sympathy with them tbh.

No disrespect intended here but why don't you do a video on a springer that would be good

    • @TeamFoxer
      @TeamFoxer  3 года назад

It’s a good question, I would have done it with a springer. However, the reason I chose to go down this root is 3 fold.
      1) The PCP is lighter and easier to handle for Emma, so when the time comes for her to start learning she won’t be put off.
      2) Its a very customisable rifle. I plan on doing some mods and filming it’s progress. Helping to promote the companies that support the trade.
      3) pound for pound proven to be one of the best rifles for accuracy.
