I think what happened to this game was the death of the lead designer at age 29 (Kyle Mannerberg) He passed way during development. Tomb Raider: Underworld was dedicated to his memory.
The levels generally had a rather dark and lifeless feel to it, certainly not as vibrant and contrasting compared to the previous instalments in the trilogy. They could have gotten rid of the ragdoll death animation, but otherwise controls and game mechanics felt the best out of the previous. The story, especially regarding Natla had some plot holes and felt rather rushed with no real closure at the end. As for Amanda (22:50), she wasn't her friend after she betrayed her in Legend. 7/10
I think is because the lead designer suddenly passed away: Kyle Mannerberg (1977/1978-2007) was a Crystal Dynamics designer who worked on Legacy of Kain: Defiance. ... In 2007, during the production of Tomb Raider: Underworld, Mannerberg died of an unexpected brain hemorrhage, aged 29. Tomb Raider: Underworld was dedicated to his memory.
This is the first Tomb Raider game where there is no boss battling anywhere. Although some people might consider the final showdown between Natla and Lara, around the Ragnarok machine, to be a boss battle. Also, this Tomb Raider game has the fewest enemies to battle. Croft Manor meets its destructive end in this game as it's blown up and burned down. This is the first Tomb Raider game where Lara auto-heals. However, this feature takes time to restore her health meter, and does not restore it fully. Lara can still use health pickups for a quick health boost, or to restore her health to 100%. The pickups are mostly antiquated jugs of health elixir, however, traditional med-kits can be found on Amanda's ship in the first level.
Going by all the negativity online, I assumed this was a broken or bad game. Mixed bags are fine, I can handle mixed bags. After all it's the best we can expect now.
This is easily one of the best Tomb Raider games ever made. In hindsight it's better than Uncharted despite the lack of polish in movement. The platforming is solid and they learned alot from the Prince of Persia series.

22:20 This stage always stuck out to me as a natural evolution of how i wanted this series to play. Its literally the only thing i can remember about that game, but it's so good i think about it regularly. Getting to use the motorcycle always made me feel like you where in a cutscene from the first game. Simply fantastic.
The main problem I had with this game, was how Lara pretty much tells you the solution to the puzzles with the PDA equipment. I like some of the open areas, but the puzzles still aren’t nearly as challenging as those in classic Tomb Raider, partially as a result of that.
At least to silence that you just have to not use the PDA, but if you were that truly stuck you could cop out. i don't think you should be able to cop out but it's far less intrusive then the lara who talks out loud to herself solving puzzles for you regardless of how obvious.
Have you played Shadow yet? It’s the only game in the series you didn’t do a video on. I liked the tombs in that game, but they should have been mandatory.
Kinda the same for me. I never completed this but was close. I played this a few days ago and she is soooooo slippery to handle. This is why I wish they did the good system or something.
Well, I finally did it. I started with the reviews on the two newer games in the series, but I went back and watched all your videos on the Tomb Raider games in order and I'm finally done. I have to admit, it was very daunting at first. When I first started, I thought to myself at the start of each video "There's no way I'm going to be able to watch a review containing the irate ramblings of a possibly-drunk black man for 30+ minutes", but the longer I watched, the more I found myself unable to stop. It's my understanding you're doing the same thing with Resident Evil with your 0 video, now there's a series I can understand. Can't wait. What a project you took upon yourself. I don't really think I've heard of anybody who would willingly subject themselves to play and discuss nearly every entry of a series like this. Despite never playing a single game in the series, in watching all of your videos on Tomb Raider, I am able to feel a fraction of the fatigue, anger, and depression that you must have felt after subjecting yourself to that final game. But in feeling this trauma, now I must wonder, what sort of drink would you recommend to ease the sensation of an innocence lost
The Animations honestly in this game when traversing are the best to Offer in any Tomb Raider game to today. The Animations and feel are even better here in Underworld then they are in the newer ps4 games. She feels very floaty in the new games compared to here you can really feel the weight and impact as you parkour and climb. I love that shit But idk what it was this game frustrated the hell out of me. One of those where the fuck do you go games constantly asking myself what am i supposed to do next. If it wasn't for the PDA id probs never finish it. Maybe i suck but it felt cryptic to play at times. Took me forever to finally beat this game which it shouldn't have.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of Underworld. I completed it a few years ago on Xbox and thought it was fine, replaying it now on PS3, her spastic controls just tried my patience too much. Honestly, Anniversary was the peak of the Trilogy (mainly nostalgia purposes and the level of content). I love your reviews man, always give me a great laugh :)
I played this on PC and always believed the game had some problems:- the camera was too close, also for some reason created strangely high fatigue to eyes-the game was supposed to be a direct sequel to Legend, so it was a bit annoying they've redesigned Lara's looks. Also they failed to notice that mimics don't have to destroy human face, but they did in TRU-puzzle levels were too repetitive and those huge moving statues just hilarious-In TR Legend Lara appeared to have some healthy distance to the situation, while in TRU she feels like being a sort of psychopathic and psychotic.
Can you review the Lara Croft Games, Lara croft and the guardian of light and temple of Osiris. and looking forward to you hopefully doing Shadow off the Tomb Raider Staring katniss everdeen
I was always sad that they didn’t continue on with this version of Lara. (Except for those arcady Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris games). Legend was way too actiony for a Tomb Raider game but I felt like Anniversary and Underworld did a better job of getting the Tomb Raider feel. (Side note, when the game released I was still a console peasant so I did get to play the two. Box exclusive DLC expansions. I thought they were decent. Should’ve been for all platforms though. Platform exclusives are anti-gamer garbage.) The 2013 reboot trilogy though feels nothing like Tomb Raider. They’re okay games, but this ain’t Lara Croft to me. Hopefully the franchise sees a reboot that is a return to form and actually has Lara, you know, RAIDING TOMBS.
I literally had to look up the adrenaline thing in this game when I platinumed it because I had never used it even once in all the years I had played the game. It was actually decently powerful... but it's a really easy game anyway sooo... it exists I guess.
I always feel the need to defend the DLC, only Microsoft were willing to pay towards the costs of developing the DLC, Sony said no. So it becomes a Microsoft exclusive. If Sony played ball then we might have got a definitive edition, but I don't think that is Tomb Raider's fault tbh.
Tomb Raider (2013) is a bit bigger on quick time events than I recalled (I replayed it recently) but it also has a fair number of those "time slows down and act accordingly" things you mention around 3:30. Is there a distinction I'm forgetting about because I played Underworld close to a decade ago?
you should have like 100x more subs bro - great work, great attitude and delivery etc. ive heard about 'boosting' your ratings in the searches etc but it cost money and i know little about it - but its being done by lesser channels for sure, to good effect i might add. i think its fine as far as legality/ policy goes but you'd have to check. also there are 'ad campaigns' from google for youtube also - not sure if any of this is useful to you but if you want more subs such means may be worth checking. its a shame good channels like yours dont get the recognition they deserve (no shame in a good 3k subs of course).
@@TheGameStatistic yeah - a channel i like got shut down for being offensive about the boxing press on youtube just 2-3 days ago - he didnt say the no no word tho... at first i thought you were white and i was like wtf? lol
I feel like Lara Croft: Guardian of light and temple of Osiris went in to correct direction that the main series should have... not saying i want a birds-eye view tomb raider as the main series but just they feel more like tomb raider games than the reboots
hi, I'm trying underworld for the first time (because it was five dollars on the PlayStation store) as someone who has recently played TR 2013 and thought is was okay and slightly frustrating (fuck shantytown and shipwreck beach) on my first playthrough on normal, and much easier on my second playthrough....sort of, any tips for underworld?
I liked moving the bridge with the magnetic Thor gloves until I realized I missed the relic and couldn't move the bridge anymore after the cutscene. One save slot reload later, I get the relic but missed a piece of treasure and can't move the bridge enough to get it. Another save slot reload later I finally get the treasure piece and relic, I go to the next room find another piece of treasure and stopped to check my totals, the game froze on a black screen. (WTF!) One console reset later I finally do everything right, get all the stuff and end the stage. I spent 5 hours in Costal Thailand.
The Game Statistic awesome. I asked because I heard you say in one of your videos that you didn't want to play the reboot games so I figured you wouldn't review them
In the experiment one? Oh yeah fuck that noise. The first game i started capturing footage for Review purposes was 2013. So im a good ways into the game. No way in hell was i gonna re live that crap. Not for you. Not for youtube. Fuck that.
😂😂😂 been watching at work all day . U bring me back so much nostalgia ... if a new tomb rider game comes out I'll buy a copy and just wanna watch u play it .. while u crap on the game and it's cod action ahha
So I'm playing the game, bought it because of the review. It's great - probably my second favourite TR (right after the first one). However, I remember how you said in 2013's review "how could anyone prefer old TRs controls over these". Well, I got the whole package - Legend, Anniversary, and this, and controls in them just plain SUCK. I don't know how many times I died because Lara decided that she'd jump a liiitle bit to the left from what I was aiming at, or the camera moved a bit and changed her path. Nothing like it would happen with tank controls in old TRs. This is why I like them: you ALWAYS know you're going EXACTLY where you want to. I'm not saying that in general tank controls are better, but man, they are better for this series. All these Crystal Dynamics games are imprecise as hell. Shooting mechanics are a mess, and Legend is by far the worst, with dozens of enemies at once. In general, Legeds just plain sucks - it's a bad story, bad controls, level design is uneven, and end boss is just infuriating because of the controls. Underworld has some great stages, great atmosphere, and in general is what Uncharted should have been, but it needed more development time. Not only because of controls, but also due to bugs, such as Lara getting stuck in geometry etc. Anniversary is alright by all means, but the PS3 version looks extremely washed out. Legend is just... bad. Just wanted to share my thoughts.
This just sounds like one of those you like what you like kind of deals. I don't think tank controls is an effective way to move some one around in an action plat-former with puzzles and light combat. It just doesn't work. The old games are designed around it, but i'll take the fluid controls anyway. I can say why i think the classic controls are dated easily. smooth movement requires open space in the classics. if you're running around outside you can get Lara going where you want her to easily. The more enclosed or complex the space the more you'll run into her movement limitations. Dead ends force a 180 roll. and any kind of awkward curving in the geometry may put you at a halt where you have to redirect Lara again. When you know where to go and what to do, when Lara's flight path is in your minds eye, you can get to where you need to go. If you're a first timer. Not so much. It's hard for us to imagine how Lara controlled for us first time wise since we've acclimated but it's not a pretty sight. Its awkward as hell. New Lara just goes where the control stick does. The fact that Lara has supplement movement options just to get her around the environment smoothly should spell out just how poorly her control scheme for 3d movement is. They need a dedicated turn around function. Again this covers her movement for open terrain, and cardinal directions. should you deviate from that structure it's not good. I have to lump in minute movement here as well. Like when you run up to a block with intent to move it, but you're just a weee bit off. So you gotta side step and correct for it. The side step again being another thing to help curb lara's movement pains. Modern Lara once again, just needs a simple move for the control stick. So basic movement i give to modern control any way i objectively slice it. 2nd everyone always praises the precise control of the jumps. You have to jump and grab that's all you. In anniversary's case i would argue that auto targeting is inferior to this method, but they program that method into the game so you can opt out. For underworld her target conflicts just don't exist. none come to mind. You jump somewhere she grips. Easy. Can i find an objective way to say ones better than the other? No. i can't. Both have their good and down sides. The classic method kills flow when faced with a long jump. And i mean when you're expected to do THE longest jump. The floating islands in TR 2 is my go to example because that gap from the clusters to the temple is something i will usually miss unless i set up for THE longest jump the way the game wants. Stop at the edge. jump back. run and press jump. Perfect LONGEST jump every time. But that means i can't just run and jump reliably since the lead up to that gap is fairly long. It's a gamble. For the new method design needs to be on point as it is in underworld. If you have conflicts you can piss a person off when lara jumps for the wrong thing. So i can't fight for the modern objectively here. Combat wise modern easily. Case n point. the mummy enemies in Tomb Raider one, and anything with an ounce of mobility. If it out maneuvers Lara and runs freely it stops her compass direction combat. Specifically when the enemy runs behind you. if it's too fast you can't just back flip to the correct position and its made all the worse when level design has a lot of hazards or is too compact. Now you gotta reorient yourself by clunkily turning around. to face the general direction so auto target resumes. Modern Lara just faces the enemy. Down and done. Nothing intrudes on it. So i can say it's objectively better. Auxiliary actions. Classic Lara is fucking slow. Climbing. Crawling. Exiting crawls. surface swimming. Ladders. Tight ropes. Fucking slow. Don't know why. Modern isn't slow. I'm done here. Please don't defend this. I respect you too much. The only thing left i can think of in the movement bugs. TR8 is certainly wacky and is the only thing i can think of when you say the controls "absolutely suck". She's a spazz. With classic Lara i've gotten stuck in corners. Warped through walls. Had movement functions disabled when doing certain actions. Had controls shut off in select areas. So Lara's gone from broken to broken. In both cases it's never so broken that i can't get what i want done. Lara breaks? i reload a save. Hollywood breaks? She's just having a hard time with collision detection that resolves momentarily or ironically keeps me from dying. Lara's broken here. She was broken then. So i can't say super improvement there. in the end i get an object improvement with basic terrain movement by simply allowing Lara to go where the control stick goes as it's better fitted for a game centered around exploration in a cluttered environment. The improvement is made clear with a lack of auxiliary movement tools for basic movement and a pure focus on movement tools for platforming. Both handle platforming for what they are. The concept of the classic combat has its kinks removed with a simple lock on function and full directional movement. All of Lara's Auxiliary actions are much faster in the modern. and both iterations of Lara are broken. So...no. Modern controls outclass the aged classic controls. Like you there's something about them i just like. But c'mon. Let's not be those people that can't recognize a positive change when it happens.
Classic TRs are indeed slow, but I learned to appreciate it - it adds to the feeling of exploration. Sure crawling or rock pushing should be 200x faster (at least), but in general I like the pacing of the game. It's like I'm in these old temples and have to watch my every step. Anyway - movement. The spazzing is what annoys me, I just can't get over it. Old TRs are what they are, but if you die when platforming, it's your fault. You got impatient or didn't think through a move. That's fine. In the CD trilogy I die because it's so god damn unpolished. I know where I want to jump. Sometimes it just doesn't let me. The worst offenders are wall jumps - when you hang on a ledge and have to jump backwards to grab onto something. Ofter the camera won't show you what's behind you, especially in Underworld. Often Lara will jump sideways instead of backwards. Navigating the hub area of Peru temple can be a bugger. And don't get me started on the motorbike. As for combat - I think it sucks in both incarnations. The best parts are the ones without combat. I wouldn't mind if there were 5 enemies in the entire game. Tank controls aren't good for combat, I agree. But frantic running around and jumping isn't fun either. Especially when enemies gangbang you to death in a series of get pushed / fall /start getting up / get pushed again situations. All in all, what I'm trying to say about the controls is that old TRs were built for their control system, and newer ones tried to do too much with what they had. They weren't fluid or precise enough for certain situations. Core was aware of their limitations (most of the time), CD just didn't care. Anyway, thanks for the discussion. Good arguments there.
@@Eszuran The same problem with imprecise jumps persists in all 'survivor trilogy' games BTW. Probably because it's the same developer. PS. I agree with TGS though, new controls are objectively better.
Let me add to your comments on Nick's plan to trap her in a tomb seems like an order from Amanda, as Lara "left her" alive in a tomb before, so she must've ordered the same fate for Lara as a revenge.
@@SuperHns the game was pretty much broke (I like to play it from time to time though) maybe if they had an extra year for bug fixing/testing/making the game longer the result would have been better, they were pretty insisting on the 'a year a game' format that originally brought down core design and the first tr era. Anyway that was not the point of that post but rather to call out the extremely insulting ps2 and wii version. They did the bare minimum, not bothering to actually build something that suited those consoles (like the ds version) but rather butcher it through and through and call it a day.
Did underworld always look this good? I remember it coming out in 08 and passing it up, thought it looked shite and a little ugly. Guess 18 year old me was an idiot.

Mr.SmithGNR Smith If you know classic TR before and after Crystal’s TR game version, then I’m OK with that. Even tho how much I don’t care about Crystal’s LAU Trilogy especially not Reboot TR game series either. I maybe don’t played Uncharted... but if you do, then that’s fine that you enjoy that game. It was the reasons why classic TR games exist before Uncharted exists on PS3 game exclusive.
Was never a fan, let alone played any of the installments when TR 1-AOD came out. I bought Underworld when it first came out, then Legend but not Anniversary (though I have ordered it recently). Have never touched the reboot at all. All I can say is I was lucky to get into the golden age of TR (Legend, Anniversary and Underworld). To me it's like a preserved time capsule that hasn't lost its charm.
TRU has a lot going for it but I’m left feeling frustrated on a number of levels. The game’s far too short, there’s too few locations, we only get ONE SHORT LEVEL to wield Mjolnir, Croft Mansion is destroyed, and the DLC is Xbox 360-exclusive! *facepalm*
Kyle Mannerberg (1977/1978-2007) was a Crystal Dynamics designer who worked on Legacy of Kain: Defiance. ... In 2007, during the production of Tomb Raider: Underworld, Mannerberg died of an unexpected brain hemorrhage, aged 29. Tomb Raider: Underworld was dedicated to his memory.
also hate how the dlc xbox exclusive, i have a 360 so thats not the problem but i wish i could play the dlc especially laras shadow on pc with better graphics and framerate
While I wasn't big on Anniversary, this whole trilogy was a masterpiece compared to Tomb Raider 2013 and onward. Hindsight is 20-20. I guess Underworld was the last real Tomb Raider game we'll probably ever get. Bugs aside, this game was pretty good. I'm satisfied replaying the Core and Crystal Dynamics games to scratch any Tomb Raiding itches from here to eternity. The reboot can go **** itself.
I kinda feel like they simply forgot to port the DLCs later to other devices... Or no one gave a f*ck anymore. I can't think of another case where major exclusive stuff is not ported to other versions later. Maybe some skins or cosmetic crap but not story relevant DLC. Maybe there are other cases though...
May i refer you to the previous video on Anniversary, I've posted a 6 comments long thread about everything i abhor about TR 2013. Just go to the Anniversary video, go to Comment order by newest and scroll all the way down you you have them in order. :)
Well, for one, when you go into dark caves you can't run because it's be unrealistic, so they disable the option for you, because f-you, you idiot, it's our game and you'll play it our way. Then, you have a button to light your torch, but gamers are f... idiots apparenty, so Lara takes out her torch by herself in this part, and you can't turn it off. Because what if you forgot about it? You'd get lost or think the game sucks, or something. Also, you get a torch (a literal torch - flaming wood) and can light it at any point since the first portion of the game, but around the middle you set to a grand adventure and kill like 120 dudes... to find a lighter. This is the stupidest, most shallow, moronic, offensive game I've ever played.
That's wrong. Not even close. The scripts including the caves aren't the worst thing. And the torch is just a petty nip pick. Tomb Raider 2013 is hated by fans, but considering your last sentence you probably haven't played much Tomb Raider. You're obvously just a sheep without an opinion of your own and used the first things that came to mind, or came up on a google search and said it's the worst thing ever to jump on the hate bandwagon. I pity you.
What bandwagon? I mean, this game is very positively reviewed. Also, I don't appreciate the way you're judging me by a single opinion about a game. I could go on for hours about why I hate TR 2013, these were just examples of what's wrong with the game: it shoves down your throat its moronic story and mechanically it's flawed, it doesn't allow you much control. A couple of thoughts about what I dislike: - the fact Lara is supposed to be this fragile young girl, yet she's murdering dozens of pirates like a Schwarzenegger character, - the 'tomb raiding' part is just an optional addition, and you're raiding tombs that were already raided and now are homes to pirates/castaways. Where's the fun in that? - platforming doesn't require any skill, even if you're imprecise, the invisible magnet will make Lara stick to the ledge you'd otherwise miss, - pacing is all over the place, for example: the monastery part was so hollywood-like, big, explosive and intense that I thought it was the end of the game... and afterwards you're supposed to go back to navigating forest paths? It was the moment I gave up. - Lara is an undead goddess who takes a beating that should kill her like 5 times already, and immediately after -- she's fine! - the way the screenwriter treats Lara is just mean, she is almost raped, repeteadly beaten etc., it's not fun, and what's the point of it if she just shrugs it off? It's like they tried to marry an adventure story with torture porn, I don't find it amusing at all. etc, etc. I spend way too much time and money on this game, and the original TR is one of my favourite games ever, so it's not like I'm jumping any bandwagon. I literally feel hatred towards this game.
That's why all reviews are for. I'm on the fence with spending money on a game, I see you're saying it's alright, I see you have a similar taste to mine, judging by previous reviews, I decide to buy the game. What else is there? Downloading a pirated version and trying it out?
Do you really think your reviews can substitute for the game itself? Like, "if you watch my 30 min TR1 review, there's basically no point in playing the game anymore"? Man, I appreciate your videos, but they aren't THAT in-depth.
Nah man. But some people don't like spoilers. I know i avoid dark souls videos like the plague when i hear a new ones out. i don't know what your bag is.
11:18 "...and it's not The Lost Valley you fucking idiots at WatchMojo!" Haaaaa, that list was one of WM's worst videos. 7.8/10 - Too much TR1 and TR2... Oh, wait that's IGN Nice review, by the way! :D
+smidget whittington I agree, there's only a small handful of their videos that are actually passable, and not completely irrelevant claiming to be original like "Top 10 TV Grandmothers" (A real video they actually did)
jpward01 this was my first tomb raider so it has a special place in my hart it's my favourite but the fucking level with the stateue it took me 5 fucken months to complete
Those small blocks gave me so much shit at 8:42 always one of them even further in the game any sort of small blocks would just fling around if I moved too quick after placing them like they would attach to my leg like a ball then pounce they'd go flying.
I think you Tomb Roder reviews and videos are great. Only thing I'd ask if maybe think about some of the language you use for some of your jokes. In a previous video you used gay as a negative way to describe something and in this video you made a joke about being raped in a male prison.

The newer (Survival) Tomb Raiders need to take note on Costal Thailand and Southern Mexico Level from Underworld!
@@TheGameStatistic So is this your favourite game out of the Crystal Dynamics trilogy?
@@gilgamesh310 The one im emotionally attached to the most is Legend. The one i'd consider the best is Anniversary.
Have you played Shadow yet? It’s the only game in the series you didn’t do a video on. I liked the tombs in that game, but they should have been mandatory.
@@gilgamesh310 im still working on RE4. at my very, very, slow pace. :(
i dont have clue how i completed this game years ago, now when i try it i just die with this terrible random jumps
Kinda the same for me. I never completed this but was close. I played this a few days ago and she is soooooo slippery to handle. This is why I wish they did the good system or something.
" the whole gang's here" DEAD
You have the GREATEST Tomb Raider videos on youtube. I did not expect to watch all of these in 2 days but here i am. Good job sexy man
Temple of Xian is my favorite Tomb Raider stage ever.
6:13 It’s actually Kath Soucie
But in feeling this trauma, now I must wonder, what sort of drink would you recommend to ease the sensation of an innocence lost
you picked a good time to hop in. Just finished the RE1 review. the hiatus is over.
good shit my man
I found Thames Wharf to be my favorite level.
6:23
How did you get Lara to look like that? Is it a DLC or something?
Do you plan on tackling any of the spin offs of this series?
Can you review the Lara Croft Games, Lara croft and the guardian of light and temple of Osiris. and looking forward to you hopefully doing Shadow off the Tomb Raider Staring katniss everdeen
the "best stages" portion was awesome!!
Hopefully the franchise sees a reboot that is a return to form and actually has Lara, you know, RAIDING TOMBS.
did you make a review of tomb raider 2013? i enjoyed your tomb raider reviews so much
It's in progress. It's gonna be a long one
The Game Statistic awesome. looking forward. thanks for responding. i love your channel
I literally had to look up the adrenaline thing in this game when I platinumed it because I had never used it even once in all the years I had played the game. It was actually decently powerful... but it's a really easy game anyway sooo... it exists I guess.
once again, NICE review dude. underworld is great, love it.
Did he really said "James Rutland Nerd" to Alister?
I always feel the need to defend the DLC, only Microsoft were willing to pay towards the costs of developing the DLC, Sony said no. So it becomes a Microsoft exclusive. If Sony played ball then we might have got a definitive edition, but I don't think that is Tomb Raider's fault tbh.
Why isn't it on PC then?
@@ParavantStudio because they paid for it to be an xbox exclusive, not a microsoft exclusive?
Yes! I was waiting for this since Aniversary's review!
Him rating his fave levels made me forget it was a underworld video
I really enjoyed these Tomb Raider reviews.
Tomb Raider (2013) is a bit bigger on quick time events than I recalled (I replayed it recently) but it also has a fair number of those "time slows down and act accordingly" things you mention around 3:30. Is there a distinction I'm forgetting about because I played Underworld close to a decade ago?
you should have like 100x more subs bro - great work, great attitude and delivery etc. ive heard about 'boosting' your ratings in the searches etc but it cost money and i know little about it - but its being done by lesser channels for sure, to good effect i might add. i think its fine as far as legality/ policy goes but you'd have to check. also there are 'ad campaigns' from google for youtube also - not sure if any of this is useful to you but if you want more subs such means may be worth checking. its a shame good channels like yours dont get the recognition they deserve (no shame in a good 3k subs of course).
lol. already said the no no word. a few of them actually. Cant be popular on the tube when you do that :p

the game statistic, You forgot Lara Croft: guardian of light.
I was looking through an old cheat code book and found the name there.
Didn't forget it. i quite like it. But i'm only doing the main series action platformers.
okay
(WTF!)
One console reset later I finally do everything right, get all the stuff and end the stage. I spent 5 hours in Costal Thailand.

underworld went all 'skyrim' at the end.
There is this part where she pushed this HUGE boulder. Like, wtf was that.
Let me add to your comments on Nick's plan to trap her in a tomb seems like an order from Amanda, as Lara "left her" alive in a tomb before, so she must've ordered the same fate for Lara as a revenge.
what anime is it you show segments of?
This is hands down the best Tomb Raider of the ps2 titles. I love this one so much.
The ps2 version is pretty dumbed down, though! As well as the Wii one.
Wesker Projects it’s more of a ps3/xbox360 title tbh
@@luigi-1545 yeah perhaps but the PC version is buggy af
@@SuperHns the game was pretty much broke (I like to play it from time to time though) maybe if they had an extra year for bug fixing/testing/making the game longer the result would have been better, they were pretty insisting on the 'a year a game' format that originally brought down core design and the first tr era.
Anyway that was not the point of that post but rather to call out the extremely insulting ps2 and wii version. They did the bare minimum, not bothering to actually build something that suited those consoles (like the ds version) but rather butcher it through and through and call it a day.
They really need to port Legend,Anniversary and Underworld on the Switch

Man I really hate the new Tomb Raider games. They are just too similar to uncharted. Not that uncharted is a bad game seris.
wayboy ...they are great games...i take it you haven't played through them and just are regurgitating other douchebags comments. I love Uncharted 2 but the rest are way overrated
I'm sure they are good as games, but when I saw the games I just thought: It's not her.
Bro these were NOT the Golden Age of Tomb Raider. Were you born in 2000?

Thanks Nick.

Dont worry. Ill explain it to you in full detail.
A couple of thoughts about what I dislike:
- the fact Lara is supposed to be this fragile young girl, yet she's murdering dozens of pirates like a Schwarzenegger character,
- the 'tomb raiding' part is just an optional addition, and you're raiding tombs that were already raided and now are homes to pirates/castaways. Where's the fun in that?
- platforming doesn't require any skill, even if you're imprecise, the invisible magnet will make Lara stick to the ledge you'd otherwise miss,
- pacing is all over the place, for example: the monastery part was so hollywood-like, big, explosive and intense that I thought it was the end of the game... and afterwards you're supposed to go back to navigating forest paths?
Tomb raider 2 PS1 🔥👍🤩
It's hilarious that the game is so short that this video is only half hour long, and a chunk of that is the top 10 stages segment xD

That's why all reviews are for. I'm on the fence with spending money on a game, I see you're saying it's alright, I see you have a similar taste to mine, judging by previous reviews, I decide to buy the game. What else is there? Downloading a pirated version and trying it out?
I mean if you don't mind some one telling you everything you're in for before you buy it. go for it man.
Do you really think your reviews can substitute for the game itself? Like, "if you watch my 30 min TR1 review, there's basically no point in playing the game anymore"? Man, I appreciate your videos, but they aren't THAT in-depth.

I think you Tomb Roder reviews and videos are great. Only thing I'd ask if maybe think about some of the language you use for some of your jokes. In a previous video you used gay as a negative way to describe something and in this video you made a joke about being raped in a male prison.
