      Good luck! just remember to measure voltages on the car and compare them to measuring at the battery under the same conditions. If the 2 measurements are different you have a loss of voltage in the connections somewhere.

    I have a c4 hasn’t started if a few years same issue. It just cranks but doesn’t want to turn over. The city says it needs to be in running condition so I need to get it up and running. I used some starting fluid into the manifold. It starts up but then turns right off. I was going to start by replacing all the spark plugs then checking the gas tank making sure the fuel isn’t old.

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  6 месяцев назад

      OK, if it started with the starting fluid, then you most likely have a fuel delivery problem. I would start by checking the fuel pressure at the fuel rails. Could be that the fuel system is plugged or the fuel pump is not working properly. If you want to reach out at justcorvettecrazy@gmail.com I can help you out more.

    Hi, thanks for a great video, I'm in the UK and have a '91 C4. Car starts and runs fine. Try again engine cranks but won't start. Volt meter reads 8v so won't run. (13.2 at battery) Any idea where to look for a bad ground or +. UK mechanics won't touch it so I think its just a bad connection someplace.

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  3 года назад

      Hey thanks for the question. Yes the first place I would check is for bad connection. As the car heats up the resistance of a bad connection will increase causing a loss in voltage. One thing you can try is to run a ground wire from the battery to some grounding point to see if the car will start. Another place to look is at the connections to the starter solenoid, make sure they are nice and clean.

    • @justcorvettecrazy116

      Thanks for reaching out. Could be a bad electrical connection on the starter. I would check that first to make sure everything is good before you toss in a new starter. My 1988 corvette won’t start after watching this great video I made some checks and found I had spark but it would not run on either or even hit. So I checked fuel pressure key on 40psi for 3 seconds then I hear a click Fuel PSI drop’s to about 10. I unplugged all the injector’s it holds 40 PSI for more then 5 minutes as soon as I plug in any injector it dumps fuel pressure. Oh the engine will hit a little when the injectors are unplugged. Any advice will be appreciated thanks.

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  2 года назад

      Mark,
      See if you can find out if 1 injector is leaking or if there is a ground signal to all or half of the injectors all the time. All the injectors on the right side of the engine fire together and then the left side. They are also running off different fuses. My guess is that your ECU is sending a false ground to the injectors all the time dumping fuel into the engine keeping it flooded. Try pulling the fuses one at a time "Inj 1 and Inj 2" see what happens to the fuel pressure when you plug in the injectors. There could be a short to ground on the injector harness. Let me know what you find.

    • @markbowles6497
      @markbowles6497 2 года назад

      It does the same thing with the left or right bank fuse pulled. Should I check for ground problem’s now or try replacing the ECU? A couple days ago after this problem I removed the ECU inspected and cleaned The wire harness plugs to the ECU The connector pins and everything looked perfect before I cleaned them. Prom pins look good to.

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  2 года назад

      Here is what I would check next...I would look to see if 12V is present across the injectors all the time with the key is in the run position. My theory is that the injectors are firing constantly flooding the engine. Do you access to an injector "noid light"?

    • @markbowles6497
      @markbowles6497 2 года назад

      @@justcorvettecrazy116 no but I have a multi meter that I barely know how to use Lol. I’ll check for 12v on all 8 inj. Number 9 cold start has been removed

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  2 года назад

      If you use a volt meter it is a little harder. You need to check for 12V across the injector. You cannot use ground a s a reference point because there is 12V sent to the injectors when the key is on and the ECU provides a ground when the injectors are to fire. So if you check for 12V to ground it will always be there. So check directly across the injector wires. If you want to take this conversation off RUclips, email direct to: justcorvettecrazy@gmail.com.

    I'm having this issue on my 90 Vet, I got some contact cleaner but haven't tied it yet. I don't have a volt meter but battery seems fine and I tried jump starting it and I still got nothing. So I guess what I'm asking is if it is the battery it still should have started or had some noise when I hooked it up for a jump right? TY

    • @justcorvettecrazy116
      @justcorvettecrazy116  Год назад

      Thanks for reaching out. If the secuity system is in lockout you will get no noise. Turn the lights on and if you get bright lights then your battery should be stron enough to get some noise unless it is the key. Reach out via email at justcorvettecrazy@gmail.com if you want to some help.

      What injector connection are you talking about? It sounds like you might have a short circuit in one injector. All of the left injectors are connected together and all of the right are as well. So 1 bad injector could take down the whole side. What I would do is check to make sure both fuses are good. Then start unplugging 1 injector at a time and try to start the car. If at anytime the car starts then the injector that is currently disconnected is the bad one. Let me know what happens.

    • @danielreagoso7983

      @@justcorvettecrazy116 sitting behind steering wheel it would be the left front injector No 1 injector.Keep in mind the car was running great until it decided to not start a few hours later? Both fuses have power. The car seems to have good power at idle even though the injector wire is disconnected. As per your reply the No 1 injector , the car starts and runs it could possible be that one as the injector with the bad attitude other wise the car will not start with that wire connected.

      I went aftermarket on my project Vette. If you are planning to keep the car for a long time, don't cheap out. It is a job you don't want to do more than 1 time. So look for OEM or equivalent replacements. Unless you are going to do some performance mods. Might need to look into larger than stock in that case. Don't forget new O-rings as well. I have another video on the replacement procedure for the injectors.
