Joe and Joan and everyone's bellwether, Walter Huston. He's sings a 'new' performance of his classic recordings. I think there is one other - a live recording from the 1938 show, "Knickerbocker Holiday" or a broadcast of the same. Issued on a bootleg LP ages ago..
I just discovered that this song « September Song » 🎶 is a song written by Maxwell Anderson and composed by Kurt Weill for the musical Knickerbocker Holiday in 1938. And of course, it is sung here by Walter Huston ! I knew this song by the version of Nat King Cole with George SHEARING ! 🤍🤍🤍🎶🎶🎶 I will watch this movie even I don’t like love story movie but I will watch for the music film 🎥 🎶 😂
My all time man of humanity John F Kennedy sang this at a family reunion at hyanisort whilst is sister played piano 🎹 tragically months later the world 🌎 lost the last great leader 😢😢😢
Olivia De Havilland's sister Joan Fontaine...they did not get along. Joan was successful but Olivia was more so. They were both so beautiful. The recording is of Walter Huston in Knickerbocker Holiday 1938.
Cuantas más versiones escucho de esta canción me reafirmo en la idea de que lo que hizo Lou Reed con ella es lo más parecido a un milagro que haya podido registrarse nunca sobre un pentagrama.
Film:ACCADDE IN SETTEMBRE. E' la storia di un tenero amore tra due persone ritenute, invece no, morte in tragico incidente aereo NAPOLI-N Y C.Finisce tristemente.
@@xfhghe It was deliberately done that way. Walter Huston played Stuyvesant in Knickerbocker Holiday in 1939. Walter Huston was a great actor (Treasure of the Sierra Madres) but never claimed to be a great singer. That is what made the song so great.in the Broadway production.
...ein Freund, der zu früh von uns gehen musste, hat mir diesen Song gewidmet. Ich wünschte, er wäre heute noch da:-)
I have just seen this film of dvd. Loved this song and Walter Huston well
before that. Joan Fontaine beautiful and Joseph Cotten fine actor.❤️
the tension in this scene, you can see the talent of their acting and all the love story in one song

Wonderful movie & beautiful song. Ahhh.
Great song and great actors.
From the days when they knew how to make real films that carefully played with our emotions.
God but she's beautiful. Great vocal too.

The singer is John Huston's father Walter.
JFK’s favorite song ❤❤❤

It's Walter Huston singing. :P
So two people in a room staring at each other silently while the victrola plays an entire song-- and it's not directed by David Lynch?

Was that Joan Fontaine and Joseph Cotten in September Affair?
That's right.
Ah… but the days also grow long when you reach September …
non guardarmi così
It's a beautiful song but they couldn't have gotten someone better to sing it? His voice is .... Not up to par
This song was purposely written for a non-singer, the kind of voice that might be easier to relate to, since most of us are not singers.

You're a dope.
