I love bonsai trees. I don't know why there's just something about having a mini something of something a lot more massive in real life that I find so fascinating. I also find model ships amazing too for the same reason.
Lovely shohin trees. We had some very high temperatures in the UK last summer, and unfortunately many of my friends shohin trees had suffered. So a lot of my work last autumn was prunung off dead twigs and branches (Jin opportunuties). Thankfully most had enough foliage to re-design, but some will have to recover a little before any further works. They will shortly be sheltering in the greenhouse. Your videos are very helpful. Thankyou.
Those shohin trees are so impressive! I kept misjudging their scale because of the fine foliage and the level of detail in the trunk and roots. Regarding, the large deciduous tree that Cameron in carting away at 4:17---even though I'm almost certain that the roots are grafted, the radially spiraling nebari looks stunning. I can't imagine how much time and effort went into that job. Sending more warm thought your way from Maui.
Oh I love shohin, that's what I'm after on my trees as well. No room for bigger ones, since I live in an apartment with small balcony. Happy Christmas to you Bjorn, and all your family. Scritches to Momo and a lick from my boy Varg
Thank you for the much needed peaceful and quite winter vibes Bjorn. I find these videos very interesting, even if they're nothing out of the ordinary and just basic routine things that need to get done every year, I still learn a thing or two. Wish you a merry Christmas Bjorn and happy holidays!
Good warmup lifting those beautiful little shohin before moving onto the monsters for a full workout. These are some lucky plants getting well taken care of. Merry Christmas to you, Nanxi, Cameron, and Momo!
Must feel like playing with tinker toys working on the shohin compared to the rest of your stock. they're a lot easier to move. Merry Christmas to you, Nanzi and monster Mo. steve.
We (Atlanta and Nashville) have to suffer through a very long and hot summer and then just couple of cold days come along and force you into doing all of this winterizing. Maybe I need to keep going south?
Yeah, temp really dropped this morning after last nights storm. Great update. QUESTION: What is the purpose of slanting or placing wedges under the pots?
To add: you do that if you find you'd like to pot the tree at a different angle, but it's the wrong time to repot. So as temporary solution you angle the pot.
Any tips for over winter for ming aralia and lemon cypress i currently have them by my fathers grow lights hoping its not to dry but any other tips I'm beginning to grasp the whole art and what not
So funny watching shaggy struggle to help Fred put bonsai on the ground. I think Velma and Daphne might have been a stronger option. lol Just messing Cameron, Happy New Year guys.
For some reason i imagine bonsai clients to all be rich people who know nothing about the trees they're getting other than the price tag So whatever shape it takes they'll say it looks great otherwise they'll be afraid to be judged by the "you just don't get it" comment
lol people were saying "after coronavirus is behind us" way back in May or June too. But it's still here. How about going with "once people get tired enough of not living life that they decide to reopen regardless".

These are literally breathtaking. So incredibly small yet with "big tree" character. Amazing.
Starry christmas and a "hell" of a feast to you. Thank you for this awesome bonsai year and the next dozen to come.
Great to see some of the day to day work around the nursery during the season - I like it a lot :) Merry Christmas Bjorn
Shohin bonsai are also beautiful! Merry Christmas Bjorn 🎅😊
Cameron going to have to pump those rookie muscles UP! Hahaha. More shohin ser, plz!

Always doing great !! Work !! Huge hug and happy holidays !!
The bonsai shuffle. A bit harder with your larger trees. Makes my transition seem so much easier. Great information!

Very good, i like mini bonsai. Video mini bonsai again
I love shohin trees
I'd be super nervous to hold the entire weight of those huge trees by grabbing just the lip of those pots. Good craftmanship i guess
lovely like always...
Someday i will go there, someday.

Great
There's a nice table in your tokonoma !!😜
Only the best!
shohin are the best
Can you recommend any books about Bonsai?
Nice trees... but I always thought that you're not supposed to cut juniper needles and only pinch?
Fantastic squatting form! You can tell you lived in Japan and lift weights!
Yeah, temp really dropped this morning after last nights storm. Great update.
QUESTION: What is the purpose of slanting or placing wedges under the pots?
to change the angle/style of the tree. This is now the new angle and will need to be repotted at this new angle.
To add: you do that if you find you'd like to pot the tree at a different angle, but it's the wrong time to repot. So as temporary solution you angle the pot.

I would love a indoor Bonsai tree, I’m 66 now so which would you suggest I get so I can see some growth before I’m gone to great lord 🇬🇧
I have to ask.. from 6:36 in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and in the box… is that some fuzzy critter I see? 🤔
Great....
Make a video on shohin bonsai
does the shimpaku video steps apply to procumbens nana? can i get same results by doing these steps for 10 years?
ok bonsai 👍 indonesia 🙏
I’d be scared to even touch them
❤❤❤
🙏
No one in Tennessee uses Celsius 😅
Bjorn just did, lol
And here I thought only those of us living in zone 4 were forced to do the bonsai two step when outside temperatures plunge........
Was this filmed on a Monday?
🙏🏻👏🏻
Kren...
Why on the ground? I thought it would of been more vulnerable to the frost
Actually it's a bit warmer. There is always some geothermal heat coming up through the soil. Not much warmth but it can help.
👏 👏 👏
Awguri from Malta
Is there any reason why you don't have a single ficus bonsai?
👍
Have you ever had to deal with a client that didn't like how you styled their trees?
For some reason i imagine bonsai clients to all be rich people who know nothing about the trees they're getting other than the price tag
