@ full on excellent review bro. Seen a lot of other guys cover this, very poorly in my opinion. This is a fantastic review both from the production perspective, but also from the informative content …well played!!
Really well shot video Phil, thanks for the review! Unfortunately, seems to be well outside my tax bracket haha. Side note: In comparison to your older vids, you seem much more comfortable in front of the camera which is good to see. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for the channel in 2025. Side note 2: Congrats on the new little one, hope you're all adjusting (as well as you can) and loving the time, it's truly special stuff.
My last few major scopes have been ZCO, but I do still appreciate my K525i SKMR3. I'm a bit cautious about 8x erectors because of what I have seen with the NX8 series scopes. But definitely would like to try out the K540i DLR.
Hey Phillip, good to see you! I hope you and your family are doing well. That 5-40x Khales scope is incredible. Unfortunately its out of my price range. Good luck to you in 2025.
Phil Happy New Year! Awesome editing and first look at the K540. 🤘 I don't have a good high quality spotting scope, maybe I can justify that as a reason to get the 540. I'll spot for others with my rifle on a tripod. 🤣
Honesty, I went for the ZCO527 10MIL after my 525i DLR. I LOVE my 525dlr. This got my attention. Wonder how the glass is compared to the Tangent and my ZCO? Bravo Kahles.
This is what I want to know as well. I have a 5-25i and the glass comes in second to TT, ZCO, S&B and Minox. If they improved the glass, I will give serious consideration.
Hello ☺☺First, a good reticle. Second, a good, accurate and long parallax. I want the parallax to make a good picture at all distances. Third, the field of view should be large. The Kahles K540i only has a terrier. Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 has the first and a little bit of the third.Reliability, of course. )) ZCO 8-40-56 has a parallax length and does not have a large field, grid for amateurs. Good glass. Combine all the qualities in one and you have the best optics in the world.
That's pretty typical of high end scopes in this magnification range. If they did a better job of handling CA than their older scopes that would be a relatively reasonable price compared to competitive offerings.
@@darlsbarkley3493 Not really. You're paying more for glass quality than most people cant discern, while a lot of others become overnight internet engineers.
@@Murderface666 tracking, turret feel, field of view, etc also cost money. The vast majority of people don't need optics in this price range and there are tons of cheaper options available for those people. If you want the best optics available, they're all very expensive. Go look at ZCO, TT, SB, etc. they're all around the same price.
Great Video Man , AWESOME camera work and editing !!!
Great video! Editing is awesome! Keep up the great work.
Great video as usual, Phil... I have too much Maple Syrup invested into my Tangents but definitely on the horizon for the next rifle.
Killer intro, Philly V!!!
@@longrangeprecisionshooters8935 Thanks homie!

Very well done, super thoughtful features for comp. That left windage is tempting and makes a lot of sense. Hope to see it up close at a match soon.

Nice one thanks Phil. What I'm getting is great scope but 328i DLR is all you need for prs really. Will upgrade my 525 at some point!
Love it. Thanks Phil. Question: Did you notice a difference in the depth of the focal planes between the 525i and the 540i that you tested? - Allen
Great question! And depth of view in general!
Excellent video Phil, well done
Happy new year bro , looking forward to some more competition videos this year, your by far the best to watch 👊
Thanks Phillip, very impressive scope.

What’s the ocular size? If less than 51 the triggercam 2.1+ that just dropped should work for you…

@terrysoule8441 i'm almost convinced that it's on the zco/tt level. Just not 100% yet.
Phillip great video, I was hoping you were going to do a review on the K540i.
I might get it next thanksgiving on Black Friday 😇
Editing hitting on all cylinders 🔥
Very nice... Hopefully ill get to make it to the nrl hunter match in Ak... cool to see a guy from ak in the industry.
How do you think the FOV would benefit tactical users?
That intro was dope
This video is pure CINEMA. 🤯
Thank you for good review.
No chance to mount Triggercam I guess?

Sweet scope. But no on the price. Hard no. Too many other options in the 3k price range.
@phil you think the k540i is a good optic for elr? I run a NF prism so the few mrad less then my 525 atacr isnt a big loss. Im a huge kahles guy!
Does it have tons of ca though once you get off center like the 525 624 and 318 though?
better than ZCO for eye-box?
Being wider angle allows you to use in more close ranges like dangerous game ...I'd imagine
Very well made video, great stuff.
but Kahles has gone off the deep end with their prices
the music dude cant hear sh
Think you need a graphic on that field of view. It was run through so fast it made no sense.
ugh, they invest so much, and yet can't hire a competent reticle designer. =)
Scopes for the wealthy..😂
Nice video brother..👍
Very technical review. Looks great! Have to check it out at SHOT.
Anybody else just learn it’s not pronounced Kails? No? Just me? Dammit.
👍🏻👍🏻
----> FORTY-SIX HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS?!?! 🤯
Dear Kahles,
Blow me!
Dear Phil,
#KYFOTG homie
40% more likely to see your misses with that cluster f of a turret.
What's wrong with the turrets?
$4,599 is not worth any scope unless it's gonna dial for me.

... unless it go into the kitchen, and make me a sandwich.
No, it is not.
Negative on the price. I can get a thermal optic for that price. The boys over at Kahles were smoking the good shit the day they priced this optic.
ROOF KOREAN
Blah,blah,blah.. Wayyyyy over priced.
Well, how much does high thermal scope cost ? those are overpriced, not scope, that will last for a century ....
