Got my bottle of elixir as soon as it hit the Dior website. Definitely worth the hype. Watched your video as I unboxed it and it was love at first sniff.

Just picked up my Sauvage Elixir today from Macy’s. Didn’t want to take a chance on this stuff selling out and then Dior coming out later on with a reformulation. The only question now is whether or not I grab a backup bottle!

That's tough. Tabac Rose is really good too. Grab a sample of each and see which speaks to you more
They both have great reviews and I was leaning to rouge smoking but sampling both makes sense!!

BDK has another really nice fragrance that’s in a blue bottle too…sel d’argent. It’s really nice too.

Sauvage Elixir is so good. I agree with best designer of 2021. In my opinion it is basically a niche sauvage. I smelled it one time at Sephora last weekend and it lasted 1.5 days on my arm. I had to wash it off or it would have lasted longer.
Okay. This is some Twilight Zone stuff. I LITERALLY just pulled these very two decants out of my mail box (Elixr and Rouge). Rouge is amazing!!! Stunning.
Elixir is the way to go! Has a throw-back to the Drakkar days! Me too, but I blind bought it because I just wanted it. ;)
If you are wanting more salty aquatic than Citrus Riviera...you need to try Sel D'argent...I like it more than CR.
I always wondered why my bottles were leaking so much. Should have figured of course that'd be the reason LOL it's like trying to deal with potato chips or soda pop
I've got about five from pdk and the Citrus Riviera kind of reminds me of xerjoff nio a little bit but it does pop and it lasts for hours
Saw the title of the video so I figured I'd test Rouge Smoking to see my thoughts on it. It was like a rollercoaster - at first it seemed feminine, then the immediate drydown was dominated by pepper and it seemed boring, then the vanilla and cherry got revived, and pushed through into the late drydown. I put it onto my to-purchase list.
I’m thinking if you like Citrus Riviera by BDK you may fall in love with Sel D’Argent by BDK as well. Get a sample of it and see
I own Rouge smoking and prefer it over red tobacco from Montale as its less medicinal... My favourite tobacco scent that I own and have tried is oud tobacco by Montale but I will happily accept more ideas 😉

That Elixer is deep in niche territory prisewise. I'm waiting for the Macy's Family and Friends sale because 2oz for $155 is kinda irritating

I smelled Sauvage Elixir when I was on vacation in St. Maarten, but it wasn't worth the price for me.
After seeing Steve talk about Rouge Smoking for soo long, I added it to my shopping list for the next sample haul I do (possibly Sept or Oct month end), along with Citrus Riviera and Cedrat Boise. Might add other BDKs to the haul for later in the year, depending. Like Tabac Rose, Creme de Cuir and Gris Charnel. Lets see. Probably next year, I can get French Bouquet and Wood & Jasmin.

BDK Gris Charnel is the only one I've smelled from the brand but it's pretty nice. Based around bourbon vetiver with a cardamom tea and fig, all wrapped with iris

Rouge Smoking is nice. Wife wears it a lot. Had it for quite awhile.
Got my nose on Sauvage elixer I was confused surprised and then enjoyed it a lot I really liked the edp as well not sure which one I want my edt is almost empty so need another sauvage
If you're getting into BDK, there are two I need to recommend to you: Gris Charnel and Creme de Cuir. I think you might have seen my post of Creme on my IG and that one is well worth the purchase; on my skin it is somewhat light, but it smells amazing. Cashmere, white suede, and some musks with a slightly citrusy, creamy, sweet undertone. It is a nice and somewhat heavenly leather smell. If you love cashmere and suede, that has to be one to own.
And Gris is what I'd call a "checkered suit" scent; very classy and lovely with sandalwood, iris, and vetiver with some fig and tea backing. I could see you going to a job interview as the CFO of Tom Ford with Gris Charnel, Ross, since I've seen how you look in suits. I honestly think that fragrance can be one of the staple "Ross Carlos" scents for your dressier side, since you love iris. Might be one that you recommend over and over again once you try it. There are a lot of hitters in the BDK house, man, like Wood Jasmin (which I need to get a bottle of that one eventually because that one is way too good, since I love jasmine.). I've tried quite a bit of them but some I have to revisit. Take care, buddy, and be safe!
I tried Gris Charnel yesterday and it absolutely sucked. Huge disappointment since I heard it getting gassed everywhere.
@@DivineFrag -- Well not everyone is going to like fragrances suggested. That's the beauty of this hobby, that you try things and discover things that work well for you. And some fragrances take time to get used to; some might be too animalic or too "bleh" starting off but after some time and wearings they get better. I enjoyed Gris from the beginning and it works very well on my skin, but it's not one that I would get personally because it's a bit too dressy for my personality.
@@Kenoji8 I wrote a note for it on Fragrantica. It reads: "What an absolute disappointment. An unappealing opening, followed by an immediate drydown that most resembles a flower bouquet with a slightly powdery lean. Clearly feminine leaning, good sillage at the start, but lacks longevity."
So yeah, it didn't fit my style at all.

Much spicier, less sweet and smoky. Not the same
Try BDK Tabac Rose.

I'm a HUGE fan of sampling. It also helps to not be the type of dipshit that smells something once then talks shit about it. My favorite fragrances have come from me giving multiple chances

Exlixir smelled like burnt hair and gas. 🤮 I think I’m alone but no thanks. I went out and had Sephora hold a bottle they only got three out here and I bought jo malones sage wood and sea salt instead!
